This is a unique case though... an exceptionally realistic portrayal of a medieval suit of plate, but with breasts instead of breastplate. :D Of course back in real-life history not everyone could afford a full set, and some protection is better than none. Also there are techniques and guard positions to fight from which minimize certain target areas. Another consideration is mobility and over-heating. So let's over-think it a little... how much could a knight / solder / mercenary gain from ditching the body armor but keeping he helmet, gorget, and limb protection?
