When using shape-based matching with MVTec HALCON, there are many parameters and settings you might want to tweak if you have images where the standard parameters don’t find all matches. In this video, we will have a look at the parameter NumLevels, which influences the number of pyramid levels. Thus, you can speed up your program, or find blurred objects. max_deformation enables you to find objects that are slightly deformed. Using an image with a reduced domain can accelerate your program, or help you eliminate false matches. Lastly, the parameter Metric can help you find objects when the illumination changes.
