The company is into the development and production of lithium-ion batteries, battery systems for electric cars, and energy storage systems. In December 2021, they announced and presented their new products category from their lithium, iron, and Phosphate battery family other known as LiFePO4 cells. With the production of the cell variant expected in the third quarter of 2022. This announcement was made on the 8th of December 2021 at an event with over 400 participants. The battery was presented by Hongxin Yang, the Company’s president, who referred to it as The Short Blade Battery. Which is probably a reference to the cell's form factor and somehow an allusion to BYD’s blade battery, which is also based on the lithium, iron, and phosphate cell chemistry. Now, not only one of these batteries was announced. About 4 of them. Not different types, but 4 different sizes. These include the L600, L500, L400, and L300, each of which is peculiar and has distinct functions. What makes these batteries special? And why are they worth the wait? Do they bring any difference to the battery industry or the electric vehicle industry? We will find out. A Sneak Peek into the SVOLT Batteries The SVOLT batteries are expected to come in four sizes. Like we mentioned earlier, they have four different functions. The L600 that will be produced first are expected to power battery-electric vehicles. The L500 will function more as an Energy Storage system and are suitable for commercial vehicles. The L400 is developed and designed for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. And the last, which also happens to be the least, would be used to power Battery-Electric Vehicles, but those with 800-volt high-end systems require more cells that are to be connected in series.
