On the day Nora graduated school, New York City was the most polluted city in the world due to the Canadian wildfires. However, that also happened to be the day Nora and her mom decided to join forces with Ukrainian photographer and videographer Yana Liashenko. This was a collaboration planned on a whim and yet flowing with Ukrainian creative energy and a desire to experiment. Right before the shoot Nora’s mom called Ukrainian model, actor, and creative director Yehor Tkachenko, who starred in Nora’s videos before and happened to be in the city. Nora wanted Yehor to be in the video and pose as Midnight Boy himself, and he agreed. Everything fell into place, and as Nora threw her graduation cap into the air, her and her mom rushed to the Midnight Boy shoot. Throughout dusk and throughout the night, the team worked and danced around renowned New York sites, such as the Brooklyn Bridge and Jane’s Carousel, as they created a visual love letter to the city of New York. In the Midnight Boy track, ‘messing with other girls’ from the side of the guy seems to be just a side factor women have to deal with in modern day society. Nora Polinnia’s song Midnight Boy calls all young women to rise above the momentary thrill and societal notions. Nora summons all women, to join her Midnight Girl disco - a creative journey which will last a lifetime, where everyday and all day there is talk of independence, personal flourishing and breaking down all barriers.
