Welcome to the Jedok geom series where I break down the Admiral's sword form and show you the stances and my interpretation of them. I'm not an expert so feel free to disagree with my conclusions, these are just what I have found to work well for me. In today's episode we talk about the Yongyak Iljase, the bold leaping flat sword posture. This is a powerful long distance stab with the full body weight behind it. I also mention the regular stab which I would group in with the Kyukjukse as the "eighth line of attack" and explain the need for both the Kyukjukse stab and the Yongyak Iljase. I also have a "superman" version of the Yongyak Iljase which I find quite effective despite looking odd.
