Ride comfort is a key strength of the Jazz. Its suspension soaks up bumps and potholes with ease. Road and wind noise are well suppressed too, helped by the small 16-inch wheels. The light steering and excellent visibility make the Jazz an easy car to drive around town. On the motorway it cruises serenely, with standard adaptive cruise control taking the strain out of long journeys. Through corners, the Jazz leans heavily in a predictable but uninspiring way. Hit a bump mid-corner and it can skip sideways, reminding you this is a car built for comfort not fun. For most owners though, the Jazz's composure and stability will prove perfectly adequate. Rear seat space is generous, with plenty of head and legroom even for tall adults. The versatile 'Magic Seats' allow the seat bases to flip up cinema-style, revealing a huge load space. Boot space itself is fairly modest at 305 litres, but still useable for family duties. All Jazz models come highly equipped. Even entry-level cars get alloy wheels, climate control and a 7-inch driver display. Higher spec cars add leather upholstery, sat nav and a head-up display. The Honda Sensing package provides cutting-edge driver aids like adaptive cruise and lane keep assist. Prices start from £25,130 for the Hybrid Elegance model. That's towards the higher end compared to rivals, but you do get a lot of kit for your cash. Running costs are very low thanks to the excellent fuel economy and low tax rates. Reliability and residuals should be strong too, typical for a Honda. So while it's not an exciting drive, the Honda Jazz offers comfort, quality, space and strong efficiency.
