https://www.youtube.com/hipoonios Played by: Ironclaw Release date: 1991 I only recorded this game as it was a request from someone I know. Personally I would never have done a longplay of a game like this, as this game is not good (imo) and not my type. I only liked some of the backgrounds because of all the layers that were used, making some of them look rather nice. Anyway, you can select between only sound effects or only music, I usually in games like this, record with sound effects and add the music afterwards, but after looking up music rips, I could only find the ingame tune. As there's also a game over and ending tune and the person who ripped only the ingame tune (no subtunes in it btw) didn't rip the others, I couldn't be sure if this game had more ingame tunes than just one, so I had to play with music. But, turns out the game only have ONE tune played on all levels and it SUCKS! If I would have known there were no more music in this game I would have gone with sound effects, as it would have made it more enjoyable to play and watch, and the sound effects are rather plenty and nice aswell, so, too bad I couldn't know. But now afterwards I realize I could just have used a trainer to skip levels for a quick look if all had the same tune or not, meh. The moving platforms that swing from side to side had sucky coding, almost fell off of them because when they move down, the player doesn't move with them and starts to fall instead. Also when they move to the sides and if you don't try to steer or whatever, there's a jump effect causing you to glide off of them. Picking up the pogo stick is a death trap! It suck as you can't punch while on it, and for most parts you HAVE to be able to punch to continue safely. With the pogo stick you had no choice but to jump into enemies to get past them as is many cases there's no room to jump ON them to kill them. So, I had to sacrifice my life at least 2 times to remove the damn pogo stick. There was only one time where the pogo stick was needed, it was to get up a hill. All other times you had no choice but to die to continue. I like the sign at 14:36 :P, made me think of Red Dwarf. I usually center all parts of a game, but couldn't be bothered this time. So the title screens, maps and ending are not centered... bleh. - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
