We are all looking forward to the holiday dates. They bring bright colors, joy, and fun to our lives. However, few people think that most modern holidays do not relate to the culture of our people, and the essence of the holiday as such is distorted today. The lion's share of holiday dates is brought from outside, from other cultures. The process of creating new causes for fun in our culture is constantly growing, and this is clearly visible in large cities. Valentine's day, Halloween, St. Patrick's day, Chinese New year... What modern young people do not celebrate! What does all this have to do with the traditions of our Ancestors?! And we do not understand the word "holiday" quite correctly today. Most believe that this is an idle pastime. What is idleness? As you know, an idle person is a slacker. But the Ancestors never led an idle life. And the very word " Holiday "is long overdue to return to its original meaning, because it comes from the old Slavic" Praz", which translates as" through"," threshold", that is, it is a transition over a certain threshold, border. The deep essence of holiday activities was to correctly translate a person, for example, from one season to another, or to tune it in unison with cosmic rhythms. Some researchers believe that the word "holiday" means the same as the Vedic "Prajna" (i.e., Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge). But it is unlikely that these words can somehow relate to most of the modern holidays. After all, they often impose harmful and generally alien to our tradition patterns of behavior. How do we celebrate today? For most people, a holiday is, first of all, a feast. Of course, in ancient times, any festive event was not complete without a meal. But this was a deeply meaningful action, in which there was nothing accidental. What do we see on our tables today? A rare feast goes without alcoholic beverages. This was even recorded in a certain Russian tradition. They say that in Russia they always drank. And they drank a lot... But this is a false statement. We are persistently imposed such a view. But in fact, even under Peter the Great, when alcohol was actively planted, vodka was drunk in taverns, first of all, by foreigners. What can we say about Vedic times? When only herbal and honey drinks (such as "Surya" or as it was called – "suritsa") were used, and even then, only for ritual purposes. Even the very pastime during the current holidays is mainly reduced to gratuitous fun, fueled by alcohol, which often results in reckless actions, and sometimes in severe consequences. As a result, health suffers, human relations, business ... Is this what we want from the holiday? It is obvious that we have forgotten how to celebrate, in principle, we have lost the culture of the holiday. Let's figure out what holidays are for, and what they were for our Ancestors. We remind you that recently we started a series of stories about the right holidays on the channel. The first video released was " Who stole the New year from us?", where it was told about the holidays mainly of the winter period, and now it's time for spring holidays. Recall that the holiday is, first of all, the harmonization of man with cosmic, natural rhythms. The annual wheel rolls smoothly, starting with novoletiya – the old Slavic beginning of the year, which falls on the days of the autumnal equinox in the twenties of September. They are followed by Kolyada days, Winter day of Perun, Krasnogorsk-Maslenitsa, Kupala holiday, Summer day of Perun... These are just some of the most important milestones on the wheel of the year. Once again, we emphasize that a significant part of the ancient holidays were focused directly on space and natural phenomena. All of them create special energy flows on Earth, the mood for which is essential for achieving human harmony with the world. Joy and a sense of happiness during festive actions is an indicator of the correct attitude of a person to new energy States. Maslenitsa is considered to be one of the most bright and cheerful holidays. However, what we celebrate today only vaguely resembles the ancient spring festival of our Ancestors.
