I did it. Incredible run. Unbelievable 8-4. Very proud of everything that has led up to this run. This is everything I have ever wanted to accomplish in this speedrun, and even a little bit more. A: This is an old game and a lot of the enemy hitboxes aren't in line with the enemy sprites. Look at this picture to see what i mean http://i.imgur.com/DpY0WaS.png Q: How did you skip the flag coming down in 1-1, 4-1, and 8-3? A: A very precise jump at the bottom of the flagpole makes the flag not come down. Someone by the name of Sockfolder figured out a somewhat consistent way for humans to do this. A: This is similar to the glitch I did in the other levels to skip the flagpole, but even better. Look at this picture for details: http://i.imgur.com/DpY0WaS.png Q: How did you get inside the wall in 4-2? Why did the pipe take you to the warp zone? Aren't you supposed to climb the vine? A: Very precise inputs make it possible to get inside the wall. This lets us change how close mario is to the right edge of the screen and tricks the game into sending you to the wrong place. A: By jumping at a very precise spot on the pipe Mario will actually stand inside of the pipe for 1/60th of a second, and if you press the jump button during this period of time you will jump.
