Welcome to the next episode in the Ducati series of videos, This time i made a mini episode out of the footage i couldn't put into the last episode as i was waiting on parts arriving but now that they are here lets crack on with things. What i tackled first was the fitting fitting and torquing of the pulleys, i didn't show this stage on camera as i wasn't filming that day but its a pretty simple process then i fitted the timing belts again another simple process of slipping the belts over the pulleys making sure the tension is at the correct side of the belt. After that i set about pressing the new bearings onto the tensioner arms this was another really simple job with the aid of the 12 ton press. Once the bearings are pressed on they are held in place with a small circlip then its a case of bolting it to the engine. The belts are tensioned according to the manual the old school twist way. Around 45° is perfect not to slack not to tight when it all warms up and expands then the bolts in the tensioners are nipped up to the correct torque so they dont move. Then i slipped the belt casings back on and moved on to getting the engine back in the frame, for this i removed the swingarm and shock but i never filmed this as you've seen it before in previous episodes. The engine was placed on the ramp and a jack slid underneath it to raise it into the frame nice and controlled so that no damage was done to the paintwork then it was fixed in place using the 3 bolts through the frame and the swingarm re-attached using the big pivot bolt and a couple of circlips then i went around and done the final torquing and we are all set to move onto the next stage of the build.
