Queen - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon (December 26th, 1979) *NEW UPDATED 2022 SOURCE MERGE/MATRIX* The goal here has been to provide the best and most complete viewing/listening experience for Queen's legendary performance on Boxing Day 1979 at the Hammersmith Odeon! This project has been through a handful of iterations since early 2021 and has collectively reached over 450 thousand individuals on YouTube alone. A copyright strike on the most recent edition has prompted me to put forward this latest installment with further changes and refinements in both the audio and video departments. The most complete individual source for this show is a wonderful audience recording, and pro footage + audio also exists in many parts. The main focus while bringing all the very best sources together has been to maintain a consistent flow, blending each source as seamlessly as possible. To fix that, the audience recording was carefully mixed in and matrixed where required which restored the much needed atmosphere. On this latest version, the audience levels have been ever so slightly boosted. Despite the Rough Mix Outtakes source already featuring some crowd noise, I decided to matrix the audience recording in at a lower volume, as I felt it was still somewhat lacking compared to the rest of the show. A handful of minor fazing issues in between songs were also repaired for this new version. After much consideration, I figured in order to live up to the claim of this being the most complete version of the concert, I've restored the gaps between encores and the extra crowd noise at the beginning. The 1980 TV Special video was color-corrected again from scratch and a much better result has been produced (within its limitations of course). These and many other changes on both the audio and video side round off what is officially our final rendition of the Hammersmith 1979 project! A number of you may know of a good friend of mine, 'Miles F.' who is incredibly talented on the audio side of things, with an especially extensive skill towards EQ remasters! He's currently in the process of putting together an all-new ultimate version of this show which is on track to trump this one. But good things take a hell of a lot of time and it appears there is still a lot of work ahead of him before he's ready to release it.
