Queen Live at Cobo Hall Detroit, MI, USA November ??, 1978 Audience Recording Sound Quality: B+ This is the most recent uncirculated show to be released. I was not planning on uploading this, but my remaster was hosted on Ryan's channel, and that's gone now. This show is one that's privately circulated for over 5 years. JEMS had it with the intent to release, but they've been holding off as the rest of the show is missing. Ryan had been working on finding this show for a long time, and he indirectly caused a chain of events which seemingly led to this show being released to the public. But yes, as stated before, unfortunately the first tape is lost. Everything from We Will Rock You (fast) to Bohemian Rhapsody is missing. Due to having such a short tape with such little information around it, we don't know whether this tape is the November 9th show, or the November 10th show. If this is the 9th, then this is the first ever full performance of Sheer Heart Attack. Freddie seems to have forgotten about the extension of the song, because he stops singing where he normally would in the previous arrangement. Freddie sounds pretty rough here, but he always sounds rough at this point of the setlist during Jazz shows, so these 15 minutes aren't the best representation of how he was vocally. This is one of the worst versions of We Are The Champions, as Freddie sounds pretty terrible and even screws up his piano break after the first chorus, completely making it up and barely making it out of there on beat. Overall, these 15 minutes of audio are not the most impressive showing of Queen's live show. On the remaster side of things, this was a mono tape which had a stereo transfer. Each side had its benefits and disadvantages. The left channel had more detailed high end, but it was missing a big chunk of frequencies around 4kHz. The right channel had those missing frequencies but it was much more overblown. What I did was make a mono mix of a combination of both channels. I did EQ on the right channel to relax its overbearing loudness, then gave it the left channel's detailed high end. Afterwards it was just manual mixing with EQ. This tape's never gonna sound amazing, but I think the remaster gave it a lot more atmosphere. We Will Rock You sounds the best in my opinion. TIMESTAMPS 1. Tie Your Mother Down [cut] - 0:00 2.
