He served as cook and pujari in ISKCON centers in Buffalo and Toronto until leaving for Vrindavan in 1977 and from 1979 until 1987 served in ISKCON temples in Greece, Israel, Italy and France. Bhakti Bhringa Govinda Swami travels to join devotees in the congregational chanting of Krishna’s names. He is known for his lively chanting and his ability to include all to participate. In 2000 he became a GBC member and is currently zonal secretary for Volga Region CIS, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. He is also co-zonal secretary for Mauritius, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. * SRILA PRABHUPADA | In July of 1966, Bhaktivedanta Swami established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for the purpose he stated of “checking the imbalance of values in the world and working for real unity and peace”.
