The Seven Hour War was a brief, but decisive confrontation between the Combine and the governments of Earth, ultimately leading to a large human death toll and the Combine occupation of the entire planet. In this cinematic we follow the brave individuals who stood up against the Combine invasion, until we come to a conclusion in bloodbath of a final showdown. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In-depth disclaimer: When making this cinematic, I felt like the aspect of keeping most of the Half-Life 2 elements in it would also make it feel more nostalgic and recognisable. Yes! I do know that the Combine Soldiers, also known as the transhuman forces, did not take part in the Seven Hour War. :P Also by adding elements from other universes than the Half-Life one, they could possibly spice up the battles a little. Know one knows for sure which types of military enforcements the Combine used to take over planet Earth. (As of now!:D) My interpretation is but one of many other possible outcomes, but I really hope that you all enjoy my work and effort in creating what the Seven Hour War possibly could've looked like!:) ------------------- For a while I've had the idea of portraying the Seven Hour War in a cinematic style, and as soon as I heard Valve would be releasing a new Half-Life game, it instantly gave me enough motivation to get started, and begin to dive back into the amazing universe of Half-Life that I had enjoyed throughout most of my childhood! Hopefully this cinematic will also have an impact on you guys, and get you in the mood for the new Half-Life: Alyx which will be releasing about the same time as this film!
