Vince Carter New Jersey Nets highlights showcasing some of his best games & performances from 2005-2007. Yes you read that right : VC's prime was NOT with the Toronto Raptors, but the New Jersey Nets. This highlight compilation will give you an idea just how special and skilled on the offensive end VC was. Way more than "just a dunker". VC was a unique all star during his prime. He never tried to pad stats or inflate his numbers. He always tried to play in the flow of the offense and lead his team to wins. He was never afraid to defer to other teammates too. What’s crazy is that VC never made ONE All-NBA team during his Nets years, a huge disservice to his incredible play. So people who didn’t grow up watching VC may wonder “If he was this talented, how come he never won anything??” The short answer is that he never played with another great offensive player, his teams were average to above average, and he never had a great coach. Jason Kidd was a great leader, but he was no offensive threat. Neither was Richard Jefferson. VC never played with an all-star big man with the Nets. He had the likes of Kristic, Collins, Scalabrine, and Boone. At the end of the day, teams could focus in on VC and neutralize the Nets. VC could only do so much: he could lead your team to win a 1st round series and a couple 2nd round games, but he needed more help, and a better coach to put him in situations where it was easier to score against elite defenses. So while VC never was part of a winning team, he was still an amazing player to watch and captivated fans around the world. Some fans and media members (mainly Stephen A) wanted him to “be like Kobe”. But that’s not VC (also, nobody can be like Kobe!) He is who he is: one of the most talented players to ever lace ‘em up who loves to hoop. If only he had another all-star player to ball with during his prime. Wade had Shaq, Pierce had KG & Ray, KD had Steph and Klay. Even Iverson had a great team for one season (Mutumbo, McKie, Larry Brown all won awards in 2001).
