00:00:01
a lot of people that people think are
00:00:03
humble are not necessarily humble
00:00:06
humility is not a facial expression
00:00:09
humility is not rich people wearing poor
00:00:12
folks clothes oh hallelujah we're secret
00:00:16
Bentleys on other islands and places and
00:00:19
and mansions you cannot see don't bind
00:00:22
to the facade of humility
00:00:25
humility that we buy into is often fake
00:00:28
humility
00:00:29
humility is an inner awareness of your
00:00:34
own Frailty
00:00:36
it is an inner awareness of your own
00:00:40
Frailty
00:00:41
and if you want to increase your
00:00:44
humility
00:00:45
the easiest way to increase your
00:00:48
humility is to work on your gratitude
00:00:51
gratitude being grateful being thankful
00:00:54
being appreciative what we do
00:00:58
as a people is that we are often overly
00:01:02
impressed with people who look humble
00:01:06
only to find out
00:01:08
that they have hidden lives
00:01:10
of great success
00:01:12
and they wear uniforms like actors and
00:01:14
plays because that's what you require
00:01:18
I choose to be myself
00:01:21
life is too short to be anybody else
00:01:24
[Applause]
00:01:26
they're what I like
00:01:28
I eat what I like
00:01:31
I drive what I like
00:01:33
I talk to who I want to talk to I am
00:01:36
authentically me
00:01:38
but in that authenticism of being me
00:01:43
is also an awareness
00:01:45
the everything I have
00:01:48
everything I own
00:01:50
and everything I get to do like being
00:01:53
here is such a gift from God
00:01:59
see you think me coming is a gift to you
00:02:05
but from my perspective me being here is
00:02:09
a gift from God my mother would have
00:02:11
dreamed
00:02:13
to stand on this stage
00:02:15
you were just a place she read about in
00:02:18
a book under a bed raised by a
00:02:21
sharecropper working a field they
00:02:24
couldn't own
00:02:25
when you understand that it takes away
00:02:29
the feeling of entitlement
00:02:31
you must understand humility is in the
00:02:34
story you tell yourself about yourself
00:02:39
everything that matters about you good
00:02:43
or bad is a result of the narrative in
00:02:48
your head
00:02:49
check out the story you tell yourself
00:02:51
about yourself
00:02:53
and rebuke all of The Temptations that
00:02:56
we have to be entitled it's about time
00:02:59
you recognize me
00:03:01
you should have recognized me long time
00:03:03
ago nobody has to ever recognize you
00:03:06
there are eight billion people on the
00:03:09
planet
00:03:10
there are eight billion people on the
00:03:12
planet and that you got to be chosen is
00:03:15
an absolute gift and the day you stop
00:03:17
thinking it's a gift you lose your power
00:03:20
to keep it going
00:03:23
to me that attitude of gratitude is the
00:03:27
substratum of humility
00:03:30
how do I enhance my competence
00:03:33
say let's say you want to run on the
00:03:36
field let's say you want to run a race
00:03:38
you want to run 100 meters
00:03:41
it is not running that you have to work
00:03:43
on right now you have to work on your
00:03:45
legs and lungs and muscle and everything
00:03:47
isn't it so
00:03:49
so if you want to become a great
00:03:52
engineer yes definitely an Institute
00:03:55
like this is crucial on one level
00:03:58
but any number of people might have come
00:04:01
here and gone not all of them became
00:04:02
great Engineers though they might have
00:04:05
produced hundreds of great Engineers
00:04:06
still not all of them will become simply
00:04:09
because of their own individual
00:04:11
attitudes and competence and whatever
00:04:13
else isn't it
00:04:15
so
00:04:17
whatever The Institute can do for you it
00:04:19
is doing one foremost thing that you
00:04:21
need to do is to enhance your own
00:04:25
physical and mental capabilities
00:04:27
because if you want to be a good
00:04:28
engineer you have a you need a working
00:04:30
brain
00:04:32
just having a degree of engineering okay
00:04:35
maybe a passport to a job
00:04:37
[Music]
00:04:38
but it is not a passport to success
00:04:41
isn't it
00:04:43
so to have a working brain
00:04:46
which the engineering degree will not
00:04:48
freeze
00:04:50
usually lots of degrees when people
00:04:52
acquire degrees they freeze their brains
00:04:54
they think they can now they are
00:04:56
finished using it and now they can rest
00:04:58
it for the rest of their lives it is not
00:05:00
so
00:05:01
this is only to enhance your capability
00:05:03
this is just an organized effort a
00:05:06
school a college an Institute is just an
00:05:08
organized effort towards that because
00:05:11
each individual cannot craft it for
00:05:13
himself that is why an institution
00:05:16
otherwise an institution has no other
00:05:18
purpose it is here to just organize that
00:05:21
possibility of you striving to be of a
00:05:24
certain competence
00:05:26
but
00:05:28
that is a mass application
00:05:30
but as an individual your most important
00:05:34
thing is you as a human being you are
00:05:36
functioning at the fullest level if that
00:05:39
has to happen there are other dimensions
00:05:42
which one needs to explore unfortunately
00:05:44
though these sciences and Technologies
00:05:47
for inner well-being have been the
00:05:50
Mainstay of this culture for thousands
00:05:52
of years
00:05:53
today we are largely losing it for
00:05:57
various reasons because we want to
00:05:59
imitate somebody else we don't want to
00:06:00
imitate our grandfather topiwala anymore
00:06:02
we want to imitate the hatsala from
00:06:06
another country
00:06:08
because of that we are losing those
00:06:10
things but we should not we have to
00:06:13
bring it back into our lives this is
00:06:15
very much a part
00:06:16
of the way the culture itself is
00:06:19
structured
00:06:20
that it is all about the human being
00:06:24
see this is the only culture which talks
00:06:27
about
00:06:28
which even an illiterate person in this
00:06:30
culture is aware of that you can
00:06:32
actually evolve to another dimension of
00:06:33
existence even if I go into your village
00:06:36
and talk to an illiterate peasant who
00:06:40
has not read anything who doesn't know
00:06:41
anything who's not heard any of this
00:06:43
stuff even to him if I go he will not
00:06:46
ask me give me a golden horse or
00:06:49
something he'll say
00:06:52
he is saying he wants ultimate
00:06:54
liberation
00:06:55
where did this fellow get this nowhere
00:06:58
else on the planet this is possible
00:06:59
nowhere else on this planet is it
00:07:02
possible that
00:07:04
an illiterate person is thinking that he
00:07:06
can break his present dimension of
00:07:08
existence and go to another place
00:07:10
whatever that place is
00:07:13
so this was bred into our culture so
00:07:16
deep we should not lose it it was not
00:07:18
just the idea there are Technologies to
00:07:21
become free if you became free
00:07:23
from the process of your body and the
00:07:25
process of your mind if you can sit
00:07:27
outside of it and work it
00:07:29
you would work it brilliantly do you
00:07:32
understand
00:07:33
you would be able to use this body and
00:07:36
use this mind only when you are able to
00:07:38
not treat it as myself
00:07:40
these are powerful instruments in your
00:07:43
life these instruments can be employed
00:07:45
the way you want it only when you have
00:07:48
an outside access to it
00:07:51
but when you realize that all
00:07:54
your name your form and everything you
00:07:56
see is provisional
00:07:59
two things happen to some people
00:08:02
they have immediate what we could only
00:08:05
metaphorically call The Dark Knight of
00:08:07
the Soul they go into a deep depression
00:08:10
because everything they thought was real
00:08:13
is no longer real including their own
00:08:15
name form body and mind
00:08:19
some people get so scared that they have
00:08:22
a bad trip
00:08:25
some people cross that threshold and
00:08:27
discover Nirvana
00:08:30
or Enlightenment and they say wow I
00:08:33
thought I was I was squeezed into the
00:08:36
volume of a body in the span of a
00:08:38
lifetime but I am a Timeless being that
00:08:40
can morph myself into any experience
00:08:43
including the human experience which is
00:08:46
amazing but The Human Experience is also
00:08:49
that which causes existential depression
00:08:52
so the causes of human suffering since
00:08:54
you brought it up are brought up in
00:08:56
eastern wisdom Traditions as number one
00:08:59
you suffer because you don't know who
00:09:02
you are you confuse yourself with your
00:09:04
body mind experience number two you
00:09:07
grasp and cling
00:09:09
had experiences which are evanescent and
00:09:12
transitory and dreamlike you say what
00:09:16
happened to your childhood it's over
00:09:17
what happened to yesterday it's over
00:09:19
what happened to five minutes ago it's
00:09:21
over what happens to these words by the
00:09:24
time you hear them they don't exist so
00:09:26
you know Wittgenstein the German
00:09:28
philosopher said
00:09:30
we are asleep our life is a dream but
00:09:32
once in a while we wake up in afternoon
00:09:34
that we are dreaming so what do you wake
00:09:36
up to when you cross this threshold you
00:09:39
wake up to your true self which is not
00:09:43
body of mind but the awareness in which
00:09:45
that experience is happening so grasping
00:09:48
and clinging at a dream is the second
00:09:51
cause of human suffering the third is
00:09:54
being afraid of anything that's
00:09:57
unpleasant pain
00:10:00
abandonment being treated by someone not
00:10:05
respectfully so that's you know there's
00:10:07
aversion to certain experiences third
00:10:10
cause of suffering fourth is identifying
00:10:13
which is related to with your ego
00:10:14
identity and fifth is the fear of death
00:10:18
now they're all connected they're all
00:10:20
the same fear and they are not knowing
00:10:25
who you are this is the biggest question
00:10:27
that humans or everybody should be
00:10:29
asking who am I what am I am I the
00:10:33
changing experience of this body which
00:10:35
is a perceptual activity
00:10:37
am I the experience of the changing mind
00:10:40
or the changing personality because you
00:10:42
don't have the same personality when you
00:10:44
were a kid or maybe even 10 years ago
00:10:48
what is it at the basis of this when you
00:10:50
start that reflective self-inquiry
00:10:53
ask yourself who am I what do I want
00:10:56
what is my purpose what am I grateful
00:10:58
for go into the Stillness of meditation
00:11:01
you have what wisdom Traditions have
00:11:04
called revelation
00:11:06
revealed truth now you know that sounds
00:11:10
very Grand I would say just call it
00:11:13
Insight you know meditation mindfulness
00:11:16
awareness of body awareness of Mind
00:11:19
awareness of mental space awareness of
00:11:22
the web of relationship awareness with
00:11:24
that which we call the universe
00:11:26
it leads you ultimately to the awareness
00:11:30
of awareness and when you discover that
00:11:33
that's Nirvana
00:11:36
does someone like you do to meditate how
00:11:39
do you meditate
00:11:42
when I came to the monastery the
00:11:45
meditation I was taught was Mantra
00:11:46
meditation which is chanting on beads so
00:11:49
I chant to Mantra and as I began the
00:11:52
process I realized how
00:11:55
challenging it was
00:11:58
to be present into the sound of the
00:12:01
mantra
00:12:02
and to be totally in a space in a zone
00:12:06
of thoughtlessness where there's nothing
00:12:09
bothering your mind and you're
00:12:10
completely present and listening to the
00:12:13
sound and totally absorbed you know in
00:12:16
the sound I realized that it was a
00:12:19
massive uphill task and I think it comes
00:12:24
that the challenge comes from the fact
00:12:25
that we've got so used to multitasking
00:12:29
that our mind functions on 20 track so
00:12:32
when we are just on the meditation track
00:12:34
there are 19 other tracks to deal with
00:12:36
you know you have your personal life you
00:12:38
have relationship issues you have
00:12:39
professional issues there's so many
00:12:41
things going and if it's just coming
00:12:42
from family so much going on in the
00:12:45
country there's so much that's occupying
00:12:47
our mental space and when you actually
00:12:49
want to get onto the track of meditation
00:12:51
by kind of just putting all of this the
00:12:54
back seat it becomes practically
00:12:57
impossible and a lot of people tell me
00:12:59
this when they're trying to meditate
00:13:01
this is what happens to them and I share
00:13:03
my journey with them this is exactly
00:13:05
what happened to me when I started it's
00:13:07
been 25 years now every single day
00:13:09
without one day's Gap one and a half
00:13:12
hours every day
00:13:13
and I and I tell them that it's not that
00:13:16
it's not a challenge today
00:13:18
it would be very high-headed to say that
00:13:20
okay I've reached a state of
00:13:21
Enlightenment when I said for meditation
00:13:24
everything's kind of there and I'm
00:13:25
totally observed maybe I hated I feel to
00:13:27
say that
00:13:28
but I did a few things that I feel can
00:13:31
benefit those who want to really get
00:13:33
into that a deeper state of meditation
00:13:36
I I look at meditation in two ways a is
00:13:40
the meditation meditation is in the
00:13:41
practice
00:13:42
and B is everything that we do in our
00:13:45
life as meditation you know and I prefer
00:13:48
to work more on everything in my life as
00:13:50
a meditation which feeds into my
00:13:52
practice of meditation but do not
00:13:54
neglect the practice do not neglect the
00:13:56
practice for sure so uh I'll tell you
00:13:59
what I do for instance
00:14:01
one meal a day
00:14:03
I'll just eat by myself
00:14:06
who meals I take with my friends my some
00:14:08
of my monk friends we will discuss
00:14:10
charity one meal is just by myself
00:14:13
the reason being I want to be present
00:14:16
mindful in the moment to savor the
00:14:20
entire experience of touching feeling
00:14:22
smelling tasting that food I avoid forks
00:14:27
and spoons as much as is possible
00:14:28
because I want to touch and feel that
00:14:30
experience of the food now the reason I
00:14:33
do it is because it just means no phones
00:14:36
no books nobody to talk to and just
00:14:38
being there eating
00:14:41
okay so what I'm doing is by just eating
00:14:44
that one meal by myself draining my mind
00:14:48
to be in the present like we're talking
00:14:51
now there's three meetings lined up for
00:14:53
me tonight and there's a restaurant
00:14:54
called candy and greens at Bridge candy
00:14:56
the family is a very close friend you
00:14:58
know so they've just opened up a new
00:14:59
rooftop Terrace I'm getting message
00:15:01
after message could you come down today
00:15:03
evening for dinner all right but it's
00:15:05
not on my mind
00:15:07
it's not in my mind nothing outside of a
00:15:09
conversation between you and me right
00:15:11
now is on my mind so why why do I do it
00:15:15
it's because right now I'm training my
00:15:17
mind to be in the present when I used to
00:15:20
be in the bathroom I would sing like a
00:15:22
big thing for me of course earlier I
00:15:24
would sing a lot of Cinema and movie
00:15:26
songs and now I sing some spiritual
00:15:28
songs bhajans whatever and then one day
00:15:31
I realized hey wait a minute this is not
00:15:33
right
00:15:34
because neither am I into the singing
00:15:36
nor am I into the experience of bathing
00:15:39
so if I'm singing I'm missing the
00:15:41
experience of bathing and if I'm bathing
00:15:44
I'm not into my singing so why am I
00:15:46
doing two things at the same time
00:15:48
I stopped singing Just focusing on the
00:15:51
experience of the water coming down my
00:15:54
body and experiencing that so to me
00:15:56
these little things through the day
00:15:59
matter a lot to me and I think that's a
00:16:02
that's more of meditation to me because
00:16:04
in what I do here feeds into my
00:16:07
mainstream practice of meditation and
00:16:11
what I do here feeds into the little
00:16:12
things as well so it's kind of a loop
00:16:14
one feeding into other
00:16:17
they are social animal
00:16:19
a human being Social Animal and
00:16:22
particularly a modern time the reality
00:16:26
economy
00:16:27
environment and many things heavily
00:16:31
interdependent
00:16:33
that's the reality
00:16:34
unlike I think past sorrow as the
00:16:37
ancient time ancient time more or less
00:16:39
independent self-sufficient
00:16:42
this will not depend or your interest or
00:16:45
your future not depend on other now
00:16:48
completely change so even from this
00:16:52
selfish viewpoint
00:16:54
you have to take care about others
00:16:57
well-being
00:16:58
just think yourself
00:17:00
the blind selfish can be yourself forget
00:17:03
other or wasting exploit other
00:17:07
cheating other bully other ultimately
00:17:09
you suffer
00:17:10
through these misievous way you may gain
00:17:14
some temperatures or to benefit but in
00:17:17
deep Insight you feel uncomfortable
00:17:20
then eventually you truly become lowly
00:17:24
person nobody loves you nobody respect
00:17:28
you if you take care other as a human
00:17:31
brother sisters
00:17:33
sincerely
00:17:35
seriously
00:17:36
then everybody become your friend
00:17:39
so when you have
00:17:42
truly trusted friend there if you need
00:17:45
something you can ask them if you
00:17:48
becoming friendless a lonely person and
00:17:51
when you really facing some problems
00:17:54
nobody you can share so ultimately we
00:17:58
are a social animal so even other
00:18:02
animals no law no education no religion
00:18:07
but you see they have some kind of sort
00:18:10
of feeling
00:18:11
their own individual survival depend on
00:18:14
rest of the community or hurts so they
00:18:17
work together I am one of the individual
00:18:20
out of
00:18:22
seven billion human being
00:18:24
if human being arrested the human being
00:18:26
happy peaceful I get maximum benefit
00:18:31
the rest of the world get trouble how
00:18:34
can I escape from that foreign
00:18:39
when I meet people
00:18:41
one or two one people or one person or
00:18:45
ten people hundred thousand ten thousand
00:18:49
hundred thousand I always consider them
00:18:51
as my brother sisters
00:18:53
that brings me in in mental level
00:18:55
completely relax
00:18:58
if I feel I'm something different from
00:19:01
them then some nervousness
00:19:05
some anxiety May develop so once you're
00:19:09
on with thinking open Reach Out them as
00:19:13
a close friend
00:19:14
that tremendous sort of benefit is our
00:19:17
mind
00:19:19
then others also feel no longer feel
00:19:22
stranger
00:19:23
another human brought us like that so
00:19:27
that I think we really nowadays we
00:19:29
really need that
00:19:31
so through that way awareness
00:19:33
and from children I think the youngsters
00:19:36
I think they know they're just one child
00:19:40
remain lonely May Cry and play with
00:19:44
other children feel very happy
00:19:48
so that's the human nature
00:19:51
so sometimes we're grown up then we
00:19:54
always calculate if I make friend
00:19:56
friendship with that how much I get some
00:19:59
benefit
00:20:01
or make friendship then I can exploit or
00:20:05
something
00:20:08
[Music]
00:20:09
this is our friendship no longer there
00:20:12
let's try it
00:20:13
basis of genuine friendship is Trust
00:20:18
depend on openness
00:20:19
like that so through these things we can
00:20:23
train
00:20:24
and then a mental level no matter what
00:20:28
your physical level busy
00:20:30
but mental level always calm restful
00:20:34
relax
00:20:36
immense benefit for your health
00:20:39
so mental health body Health very
00:20:42
closely
00:20:43
so the ultimate source of mental health
00:20:45
is walmartedness that's my belief maybe
00:20:49
wrong I my friend have to research more
00:20:54
research work
00:20:58
I decided that I wanted to not know what
00:21:02
we know but what is the source of
00:21:05
knowing
00:21:06
okay it's not what you know you know
00:21:09
what you know these days
00:21:11
you can look it up go Google it
00:21:13
so it's not important what you know
00:21:16
anybody can find out anything about
00:21:18
anything these days you know I can look
00:21:21
up how many galaxies that are in the
00:21:22
universe or how does epigenetics work
00:21:25
how does the brain function
00:21:27
that's not
00:21:29
the key to creativity to creativity and
00:21:33
higher consciousness
00:21:35
is how do you know what you know what is
00:21:39
the source of knowing and experience
00:21:41
what is it that knows the experience of
00:21:43
the body what is it that knows the
00:21:46
experience of the Mind what is it that
00:21:49
knows the experience called the color
00:21:50
red and where is that experience
00:21:52
happening when you uh
00:21:55
go past your ego identity there's a
00:22:00
bigger identity that is
00:22:03
so huge it's incomprehensible it can't
00:22:07
even be described and there's a freedom
00:22:09
and a joy that comes from that and I had
00:22:14
had glimpses of that but this period of
00:22:17
intense Stillness and by the way since
00:22:20
then I've kept a week of Silence every
00:22:23
year sometimes I do more and that week
00:22:27
of Silence usually in September I do
00:22:29
every year just to go back to the taste
00:22:32
of Timeless being yeah instead of you
00:22:36
know our ego identity which we keep
00:22:37
polishing every day now especially these
00:22:40
days with social media and books and
00:22:42
promotions and you name it
00:22:46
reality is
00:22:48
one wholeness it includes all subjects
00:22:51
all objects
00:22:52
and all modes of knowing what we have
00:22:56
access to is a human mode of knowing you
00:22:58
know in my book made a human I talk
00:23:00
about the butterfly The Painted Lady
00:23:03
who smells the world through her antenna
00:23:06
okay chase the world through her feet
00:23:10
sees the world with 30 000 lenses that
00:23:13
move like a kaleidoscope
00:23:16
okay hears the world through her wings
00:23:19
what is reality to that little species
00:23:23
some insects see the world 360 Degrees
00:23:26
okay because they have these what we
00:23:29
call complex eyes with multiple lenses
00:23:33
you can only see within a certain range
00:23:35
but there are insects and that can see
00:23:38
360 degrees so what is reality reality
00:23:42
what we call reality what today's
00:23:45
science calls reality comes Under The
00:23:48
Heading of naive realism Einstein was a
00:23:53
naive realist and I'm not saying this in
00:23:56
a derogatory fashion it's it's it's a
00:23:59
word in the science of philosophy naive
00:24:01
realism means that the physical world
00:24:04
exists exactly as perceived by the five
00:24:07
human senses now obviously that's not
00:24:10
true other species experience the world
00:24:14
through different modes of sensory
00:24:16
perception the second aspect of naive
00:24:19
realism is that the physical world as
00:24:22
perceived by the five human senses would
00:24:25
exist even if no one was observing it
00:24:28
well how do you prove that and firstly
00:24:31
it's naive because we know that the
00:24:34
world is more than what is perceived by
00:24:38
the five human senses so this leads us
00:24:42
to a solution actually of the heart
00:24:45
problem of Consciousness which is
00:24:47
get rid of the idea that the world is
00:24:49
physical what we call of the world as
00:24:52
physical even your physical body is a
00:24:55
perceptual activity and that perceptual
00:24:57
activity for you and me is a human
00:24:59
perceptual activity through human
00:25:02
consciousness not through bad
00:25:04
Consciousness not through mosquito
00:25:06
Consciousness not through plant
00:25:07
Consciousness which would fit in with
00:25:11
pan psychism but non-dualism says go
00:25:15
beyond that
00:25:17
there is only one Consciousness that is
00:25:20
differentiating you know
00:25:21
undifferentiated Consciousness
00:25:23
differentiating into these different
00:25:25
species of consciousness
00:25:27
that form a matrix of conscious beings
00:25:32
that are collectively projecting this
00:25:34
universe
00:25:36
let one human being honestly say
00:25:40
when you are with your most loving
00:25:42
parents however doting and wonderful
00:25:44
they were to you
00:25:46
that you never felt
00:25:48
this is not where you want to be
00:25:51
that is a dishonest human being
00:25:54
because
00:25:56
love gets tedious
00:25:59
somebody's fondness gets very tedious
00:26:02
Comfort gets tedious
00:26:05
because the nature of life is it wants
00:26:08
to constantly expand
00:26:10
if there is no room for expansion it
00:26:12
doesn't matter you are kept in a uh
00:26:15
whatever I won't use because everybody
00:26:17
uses the word Golden Palace I think
00:26:19
Golden Palace is totally anesthetic in
00:26:21
my uh
00:26:24
my visual perception I hate Golden
00:26:27
Palace but whatever is the most
00:26:30
wonderful Palace
00:26:32
or as you say Shangri-La whatever
00:26:37
you will it'll get tedious
00:26:40
all the heaven-bound people
00:26:42
they don't know how bored they will be
00:26:44
within three days in that place of
00:26:46
goodness
00:26:47
[Music]
00:26:49
so I'm saying it doesn't matter it's not
00:26:51
because there's something wrong with
00:26:53
your parents
00:26:54
they may be most wonderful people
00:26:57
but
00:26:59
the very nature of a human being is such
00:27:01
only if you are a pet animal
00:27:04
if you have reduced yourself to that
00:27:06
you're just happy
00:27:08
with the means that you're getting and
00:27:12
somebody is fondling you once in a way
00:27:14
and you're happy with that
00:27:17
for that you must be a pet animal you
00:27:19
should not be born as a human being once
00:27:21
you're born as a human being it is
00:27:23
natural wanting to break
00:27:26
barriers so when you're young as a child
00:27:29
or a teenager you think barriers means
00:27:31
they're all physical before you
00:27:33
understand the barriers are not really
00:27:35
physical whether you build your own
00:27:37
house or you live in your parents house
00:27:39
or you live in a slave master's house
00:27:42
the house and walls are not the barrier
00:27:45
it is all within us before you realize
00:27:49
that or how soon you realize that will
00:27:52
lead to either transformation or
00:27:53
frustration
00:27:55
I would say uh there's literally no
00:27:58
human being
00:28:00
who is not confronted with a thought and
00:28:03
an emotion like that
00:28:04
but they managed to brush it aside it
00:28:07
doesn't bother them enough
00:28:10
the pain of not knowing doesn't tear
00:28:12
them that's the whole problem
00:28:14
they come to terms with ignorance they
00:28:17
make a deal with ignorance they will
00:28:19
build relationships where everybody will
00:28:21
confirm this is the best way to live
00:28:24
of comfort companionship love affection
00:28:30
these are all things you're seeking I
00:28:34
know a whole lot of people have raised
00:28:36
human emotions to Heavens if you say
00:28:38
love they say Divine love if you say Joy
00:28:41
they say Divine Joy if you say Bliss
00:28:43
they say Divine Bliss
00:28:47
you don't need any God's help to be
00:28:49
joyful loving peaceful
00:28:53
as a human being you end out with these
00:28:55
qualities
00:28:57
so all those who deprived themselves of
00:28:59
that they either seek
00:29:02
God or they settle for a dog
00:29:05
[Music]
00:29:06
yeah usually
00:29:09
because
00:29:11
they want a unconditional love this is a
00:29:15
demand
00:29:18
because the nature of Love is such that
00:29:21
it's like a flower if you don't watch it
00:29:23
for two minutes It'll fall
00:29:25
it will wither and fall right there
00:29:29
either you want to
00:29:32
let it fall
00:29:33
or you have to nourish it every moment
00:29:36
or you have to concretize it that means
00:29:39
you take a picture and keep it on your
00:29:41
phone screen
00:29:43
or you institutionalize it with marriage
00:29:46
or this or that
00:29:49
so essentially
00:29:52
well I'm I'm not against any institution
00:29:55
because institutions are needed in the
00:29:57
world to operate otherwise there will be
00:30:00
chaos
00:30:01
that is a different thing but you cannot
00:30:04
institutionalize Joy or peace like right
00:30:07
now we think United Nations is the
00:30:10
institution for peace no no you cannot
00:30:13
institutionalize peace
00:30:15
you cannot institutionalize Joy you
00:30:19
cannot institutionalize love or anything
00:30:22
for that matter the institutions are
00:30:25
functional instruments in a given
00:30:27
Society I have utmost respect for them
00:30:29
because without it people a whole lot of
00:30:32
people wouldn't know how to live
00:30:34
you need institutions there is a
00:30:36
government there is a democratic process
00:30:37
there are a variety of things all right
00:30:39
there are courts there are parliaments
00:30:42
well ninety percent of the time some
00:30:45
nonsense may be happening there but
00:30:48
still these institutions are important
00:30:50
because without that there will be total
00:30:52
chaos
00:30:53
so I'm not talking against institutions
00:30:56
but institutionalizing things that
00:30:59
happen within a human being is a silly
00:31:02
effort
00:31:06
[Music]
