Ukraine is a major European
power, where 44 million00:07:54
people live.00:07:55
Eight years ago,
part of the territory was taken from her by force,00:07:58
and all these years she created
an army from scratch and prepared00:08:02
to repel a new attack.00:08:04
The plan developed by the Moscow
generals faced00:08:07
a cruel reality.00:08:08
The Russian units, although they are

slower than the

Everywhere, Ukrainians are putting up
stiff resistance,00:08:17
and the advance of Putin's
units is losing momentum.00:08:20
For each city there are heavy

Volunteers are armed,

soldiers often do not have enough

logistics of supplying forward
units are disrupted.00:09:25
After all, a protracted campaign
on foreign territory requires a00:09:28
completely different preparation.00:09:30
The second result and the second mistake of
Putin.00:09:33
Kremlin strategists clearly
believed that Ukraine would00:09:36
greet Russian soldiers
with flowers and tears of joy.00:09:40
After all, Putin has apparently convinced
himself that the people of Ukraine are00:09:43
suffering under the yoke of, as
he put it, the Kiev00:09:47
gang of Nazis and drug addicts.00:09:48
In addition, pictures of 2014 are
vivid in his memory, when00:09:53
in the Crimea and some areas of the
Donbass, some people came out00:09:56
with Russian flags and

People go to fight with superior

readiness to pay with their
lives for their land, for00:11:01
their freedom and independence.00:11:03
Sovereignty has ceased to be a00:11:06
political science textbook term for Ukrainians.00:11:08
It has become a real value
for which people shed00:11:11
blood and are ready to sacrifice
themselves.00:11:14
We see how in the captured
cities the locals00:11:16
come out without weapons, with the national
flags of Ukraine and stand00:11:19
in the way of Russian armored
columns.00:11:22
They sing the anthem of their country,
standing under the sights of machine guns.00:11:25
And young Russian
soldiers look at this00:11:29
in complete confusion,
because the political officers told00:11:32
them that they would be met here
as liberators, and the President of00:11:36
Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky
would sign an act of surrender00:11:39
in the very first days of the war.00:11:40
