00:00:02
mountains yeah well here yeah hiya today
00:00:05
we're going to learn about the Axiom mod
00:00:07
it comes with various different features
00:00:08
that allow you to build faster than ever
00:00:11
we're going to go through the different
00:00:12
Axiom features one by one to start off
00:00:15
you'll notice that there's an extra slot
00:00:17
on your hot wire this can be accessed
00:00:19
via the scroll wheel or pressing Zero by
00:00:21
default holding alt on this extra slot
00:00:24
will open up an additional set of
00:00:25
options you can scroll through these and
00:00:27
select what you want let's start with
00:00:29
the first one extrude when you have it
00:00:32
selected you'll notice two options on
00:00:34
your Hotbar one being expand and one
00:00:36
being shrink the general idea of extrude
00:00:38
is that by pointing in the direction you
00:00:40
want something to go up or forward
00:00:42
extruding it you can click and it will
00:00:45
go up or
00:00:47
down depending on the button that you
00:00:49
press you can also do this to the sides
00:00:53
and it will always go across the entire
00:00:55
face of the object that you're using it
00:00:57
on this is by block as well the next
00:01:00
option is smear
00:01:03
smear does is it allows you to select
00:01:05
two points using your left and right
00:01:07
click buttons and this is the object
00:01:09
you'll be smearing smearing essentially
00:01:12
stretches out the object in a direction
00:01:15
of your choosing you can control this
00:01:17
Direction with your scroll bar it can go
00:01:19
up down and any direction you want it to
00:01:22
go to confirm you just press right click
00:01:24
if you don't want to confirm and just
00:01:26
cancel press left click
00:01:28
you can also undo any edit you do with
00:01:31
any tool by pressing Ctrl Z
00:01:35
after smear comes stack stack will allow
00:01:38
you to press two points similar to smear
00:01:40
and then you can scroll unlike smear
00:01:42
this will not drag across your design
00:01:44
but will simply replicate it along
00:01:46
different axes after stack comes clone
00:01:49
pretty self-explanatory you select your
00:01:51
area the same way you do with smear and
00:01:53
stack and then you can scroll to move
00:01:55
the clone of an object
00:01:57
you can confirm with right click or
00:01:59
cancel with left click next up is the
00:02:01
move tool by selecting a first point and
00:02:04
a second point just like many of the
00:02:05
other tools you can move the selection
00:02:07
this is very helpful if you've
00:02:09
accidentally put something in the wrong
00:02:10
spot those are the tools that naturally
00:02:12
appear in your creative Hotbar but if
00:02:15
you go into your original creative hop
00:02:16
bar and you hold alt you'll notice a
00:02:18
window come up
00:02:22
at the top you have buttons that will
00:02:24
allow you to switch game modes this is
00:02:26
very helpful for testing different
00:02:27
things quickly for example if I want to
00:02:29
be in survival I can click the survival
00:02:31
button and I'll be put into the survival
00:02:32
game mode by pressing alt I'll
00:02:35
automatically be put back into the
00:02:36
creative mode this works for all the
00:02:38
other modes as well
00:02:41
next thing you'll notice is all these
00:02:43
tiles right in the middle
00:02:45
these are saved hot bars and you can
00:02:47
save your hot Bars by simply dragging in
00:02:49
the blocks you want to be there from
00:02:50
your original Hotbar you can also select
00:02:53
a Hotbar by scrolling to it this is very
00:02:55
helpful for switching types of blocks if
00:02:57
you have a large selection next you'll
00:02:59
notice something on the right side of
00:03:00
the screen
00:03:01
this is your flight speed at 100 you'll
00:03:04
fly at normal vanilla speed but above
00:03:06
that you can fly very fast this is very
00:03:09
helpful for getting around large builds
00:03:10
you'll also notice this X in this
00:03:12
section back here that you can simply
00:03:14
drag blocks from one of your hot bars to
00:03:16
the ax to delete them from that hot part
00:03:19
next up is things on the side first
00:03:22
there's tinker
00:03:23
Tinker is essentially a weird wacky
00:03:26
version of the vanilla debug stick for
00:03:28
example
00:03:30
if I select a furnace with my bare fist
00:03:32
it will turn on or off and change its
00:03:34
block state but this also works for
00:03:36
things such as planks and other blocks
00:03:39
that have stair and slab variants you
00:03:41
can essentially chisel out the shape you
00:03:43
want but it will only chisel out into
00:03:45
vanilla shapes so there's no way to get
00:03:47
a vertical slab Tinker works with many
00:03:49
other types of blocks as well and it's
00:03:51
worth messing around with different
00:03:52
types of blocks to figure out what it
00:03:53
can do next up is the no updates button
00:03:55
now this is usually used alongside the
00:03:58
force place button Force Place allows
00:04:00
you take things such as grass and place
00:04:01
them anywhere
00:04:02
but you'll notice that if I try to place
00:04:04
her on top of another the block will
00:04:06
update and it will break
00:04:07
turning on no updates will allow you to
00:04:09
place these however you want in any
00:04:12
shape you want they'll stay the same
00:04:14
even after no updates and fourth place
00:04:16
are turned off but updating the block
00:04:18
from that point on will still break it
00:04:20
next up on the list is replace mode this
00:04:23
is very simple to use by selecting a
00:04:25
block you want to replace another block
00:04:26
with you can replace it by simply
00:04:28
holding down the right click button
00:04:29
another cool thing to note about replace
00:04:31
mode is that it also reflects the block
00:04:34
states of the Block it's being replaced
00:04:35
with so if I turn on replace mode and
00:04:37
use a stair block or a slab it will
00:04:39
match the exact State it's in
00:04:42
you can set a keybind for a place mode
00:04:44
in your settings next up is bulldozer
00:04:47
bulldozer essentially allows you to hold
00:04:49
down left click and break blocks very
00:04:51
fast after that we have enchanced flight
00:04:53
now this is on by default I think and
00:04:55
you might have experienced it previously
00:04:57
but the general idea is that it allows
00:04:59
you to move much more strictly according
00:05:02
to the direction you're pressing and the
00:05:03
direction you're facing as well now that
00:05:05
we've covered all the tools in the hot
00:05:06
bar it's time to start with the fun
00:05:08
stuff by pressing right shift by default
00:05:11
you can open up this window
00:05:14
now this might look pretty complex and
00:05:16
it can be but it's actually pretty user
00:05:17
friendly we're just going to go over the
00:05:19
basic functions of each tool and window
00:05:21
in this video and avoid a lot of the
00:05:22
super ultra complicated gigachad nerd
00:05:25
stuff something to note here is that
00:05:26
windows can be moved around by simply
00:05:28
dragging them to different areas of the
00:05:29
screen this is helpful if you want to
00:05:31
customize workspace first of all let's
00:05:33
get movement out of the way by holding
00:05:35
the left Mouse button you can rotate
00:05:37
your camera around by dragging it this
00:05:39
is similar to Google Earth's street view
00:05:41
and it's pretty easy to maneuver you can
00:05:43
also middle click to grab a block
00:05:45
of your choice we'll talk about this
00:05:47
window later and you can right click to
00:05:50
get the crossbar that you're familiar
00:05:51
with and fly around using that
00:05:54
you can also scroll to zoom in or out in
00:05:56
the direction you're facing or by
00:05:58
holding Ctrl and using left Mouse button
00:06:00
you can rotate around wherever you're
00:06:03
looking at holding Ctrl and pressing the
00:06:05
right Mouse button will pan your camera
00:06:08
and that's pretty much the gist of all
00:06:09
the movement options here
00:06:11
first step is World Properties the World
00:06:13
Properties panel has a variety of
00:06:15
selections to allow you to customize
00:06:16
your world such as making yourself
00:06:18
vulnerable whether you want mops to
00:06:20
spawn or freezing time and setting the
00:06:22
time itself
00:06:23
next up is the history window this is
00:06:26
one of the greatest features in any
00:06:28
Minecraft mod ever and you cannot change
00:06:31
my mind the history menu allows you to
00:06:33
undo and redo things that have happened
00:06:35
in this session you've played the game
00:06:36
in not any other session however so if
00:06:39
you open the game build something and
00:06:41
then go outside you can't undo it later
00:06:43
so don't do anything you'd regret and
00:06:45
then quit the game you can go through
00:06:47
your history by simply clicking buttons
00:06:49
here or by pressing Ctrl Z like any
00:06:52
other program next up is your active
00:06:54
block panel this is the main block
00:06:56
you'll use for most of the tools we'll
00:06:58
use later to set your active block
00:07:00
simply click this button and then search
00:07:03
the block you're looking for for example
00:07:05
if I wanted to build with stone
00:07:11
Coke all over myself give me a second
00:07:13
for example if I want to build a stone I
00:07:15
can click this button and search for
00:07:17
stone
00:07:19
then once I see Stone I can click it and
00:07:21
my active block is set to that
00:07:23
the next window is the palette window
00:07:25
this is a selection of your recently
00:07:27
used blocks in the session as well as
00:07:29
custom paths that you yourself can make
00:07:31
to make a new palette you can right
00:07:33
click and add a new category let's say I
00:07:36
want a new palette and I want it to be
00:07:37
pink now when I click my pink palette
00:07:40
you'll notice my active block was
00:07:41
automatically added to it if I don't
00:07:43
want that to automatically appear I can
00:07:44
simply right click and remove the block
00:07:46
you can also right click on a category
00:07:48
to add a subcategory which is Childs so
00:07:51
for example if I had pink and I wanted
00:07:53
purple pink and when I click pink I'll
00:07:56
have another subcategory that I can use
00:07:58
to further organize my blocks from here
00:08:00
I can also press add a new block and
00:08:03
let's say I want to add purple to my
00:08:05
purple pink category and once I click it
00:08:07
it will be there you can also just drag
00:08:09
your active block into the window if you
00:08:11
want to add it here right in the middle
00:08:13
you'll notice this is just your view
00:08:16
now you've learned how to move around
00:08:17
this main area previously but you can
00:08:19
actually set multiple views let's say I
00:08:21
wanted to go right here because there's
00:08:23
something important here I want I can
00:08:25
click new view
00:08:26
and now my main is set to this
00:08:30
and now that new view
00:08:32
is set to that spot so I can go between
00:08:34
spots and set multiple views of where I
00:08:37
want to go
00:08:38
this is extremely helpful for navigating
00:08:40
things and by pressing right shift
00:08:42
you'll actually go to wherever that view
00:08:44
you just selected is
00:08:46
you can name these views by right
00:08:47
clicking right clicking you can pin the
00:08:49
world and your location which allows you
00:08:51
to just go anywhere in this View and
00:08:53
then when you reselect it be back at
00:08:55
your original spot next up is the tools
00:08:58
panel we're going to go through each of
00:09:00
these one by one and they are phenomenal
00:09:03
first up let's start with magic select
00:09:05
you'll notice that the tool options
00:09:07
panel changes to show a bunch of
00:09:08
parameters these are the different
00:09:10
effects that your brush or whatever tool
00:09:13
you're using will have by default it's
00:09:15
set to block this means that if I click
00:09:17
on my Oak planks here and I right click
00:09:19
I will select all the oak planks that
00:09:21
are connected to each other by pressing
00:09:23
delete I can get rid of them
00:09:25
now if you've accidentally selected too
00:09:27
much you can go up to the top and hit
00:09:30
select and clear you can also undo your
00:09:33
selections if that's faster for you this
00:09:35
will allow you to instantly get rid of
00:09:37
your selection this works for all
00:09:39
selection tools but you can also change
00:09:42
this to block state which means it will
00:09:44
select blocks that have the same block
00:09:45
State such as slabs or stairs solid will
00:09:49
allow you to select any block that you
00:09:50
can't pass through that's not connected
00:09:52
to something else so for example if you
00:09:55
made a structure like this Cube here and
00:09:57
I wanted to select only this Cube by
00:09:59
using solid I can do that but if there
00:10:01
were water Above This Cube I could
00:10:03
select through that as well to select
00:10:05
the cube any allows you to select the
00:10:08
water as well and other non-solid blocks
00:10:10
that aren't air next up is limit and
00:10:13
this is the limit of blocks you can
00:10:15
select so if I put this to 100 you can
00:10:16
notice I can only select a small amount
00:10:18
of grass blocks whereas if this is set
00:10:20
to something very high I can select
00:10:21
everything range is how far apart
00:10:24
different things seem to be selected for
00:10:26
example if my range is set to 1 and I
00:10:29
select a block and I'm selecting this
00:10:30
Cube It's not going to select this other
00:10:32
cube next to it but if I turn up my
00:10:34
range then I can select that Cube and
00:10:36
further turning up my range I can select
00:10:38
all three cubes surface only means
00:10:40
you'll only select blocks that are
00:10:42
adjacent to the air
00:10:43
for example if I have this 3x3 solid
00:10:45
cube here and I select surface only
00:10:48
when I click it and I hit delete it's
00:10:50
not going to select those middle blocks
00:10:52
right over there
00:10:53
next up is your selection options down
00:10:55
here and this is the same for all other
00:10:56
selection tools add means that when I do
00:10:59
another selection it will add it to my
00:11:01
current selection so I can select
00:11:03
multiple things going to replace means
00:11:06
that it will only do the one selection
00:11:08
that I'm currently doing and get rid of
00:11:10
all other selections subtract means that
00:11:13
it will unselect something and intersect
00:11:15
will only select the area that overlaps
00:11:17
with the current selection
00:11:19
you can see that if I have a selection
00:11:21
like this and I've selected it and I go
00:11:24
to intersect when I select another
00:11:26
selection inside of this that takes up
00:11:28
part of that selection that I was
00:11:29
previously looking at
00:11:31
it will only select where those two
00:11:33
selections will intersect the intersect
00:11:36
tool is more noticeable in stock select
00:11:38
which is our next tool boxelex simply
00:11:40
allows you to click and drag a box
00:11:41
around where you want to select you can
00:11:44
change this box by scrolling in
00:11:46
different directions or by using these
00:11:48
little arrows
00:11:49
the squares here well I mean it will
00:11:51
only change in that axis going back to
00:11:53
the options of the box tool you can set
00:11:55
the position of where your selection is
00:11:57
going to start and you can also select
00:11:59
the size if I accidentally went over
00:12:01
here and I've scrolled up my selection
00:12:02
so that it's just barely below and
00:12:04
there's a lot of empty space down here
00:12:06
hitting the shrink will make it as small
00:12:07
as possible to fit all non-air blocks
00:12:11
inside next up is freehand select
00:12:13
freehand select basically allows you to
00:12:16
draw a selection in its options you can
00:12:18
select the shape you'd like to select
00:12:20
with which is sphere cube
00:12:23
or an octahedron which is basically just
00:12:26
a double-sided pyramid you can select
00:12:28
the radius of your selection here
00:12:32
and you can select just by dragging the
00:12:34
area you want to select next up is the
00:12:36
ruler the ruler allows you to right
00:12:38
click two different areas and it will
00:12:40
tell you the distance between them as
00:12:42
well as a bunch of different information
00:12:44
back here you can set your points
00:12:46
manually from down here as well and you
00:12:49
can add more than one ruler spot if you
00:12:51
keep clicking
00:12:52
next step is the painter tool now this
00:12:55
tool is interesting because it will take
00:12:57
your active block and similar to the
00:12:59
freehand select tool you select your
00:13:01
shape and when you right click over
00:13:03
something you can change the material
00:13:07
you'll also notice a mask surface button
00:13:09
this means that it will only select the
00:13:11
surface of a block so if I select the
00:13:13
ground here
00:13:14
and I go back to the menu it didn't
00:13:16
select the dirt below it but if I hit
00:13:19
the non-mass surface
00:13:21
it made the same shape underneath
00:13:24
it's important to note that the painter
00:13:26
tool will only operate within your
00:13:28
selection unless you don't have anything
00:13:30
selected so if I wanted to paint this
00:13:32
square right here and I box selected it
00:13:34
and then I go to my painter tool I can
00:13:36
paint inside the square but nowhere else
00:13:39
next up is the noise painter this is
00:13:42
similar to the same thing as the painter
00:13:44
tool but it allows you to select
00:13:45
multiple blocks and randomize them
00:13:47
automatically down here you'll notice
00:13:50
the same settings as the painter tool
00:13:51
except a scale modifier which basically
00:13:54
means that this little fuzzy area down
00:13:56
here is going to get more or less zoomed
00:13:59
in this will result in less or more
00:14:01
patches of areas for example if my scale
00:14:04
is set very high and I go down here
00:14:07
which is where you select your blocks
00:14:08
and add a new one a say Stone and then
00:14:11
granite
00:14:12
and then if I right click
00:14:16
you'll notice that there's super large
00:14:18
patches of granite and the weird pattern
00:14:20
is forming on the ground here
00:14:22
if I turn down my scale you'll notice
00:14:24
that it's going to be much more shrunk
00:14:26
down and much more randomized we're
00:14:28
going to skip the 3D mode button as well
00:14:30
as the noise tabs and we're going to go
00:14:32
all the way down to the block tab now we
00:14:34
mentioned this previously you can add as
00:14:36
many blocks as you possibly could ever
00:14:37
want and you can also set them to
00:14:40
different percentages for different
00:14:41
common rates
00:14:43
so for example if I want this my stone
00:14:45
to be at 90 and then my other one to be
00:14:47
at 90 as well but I wanted my other one
00:14:49
to be at eight and you'll notice a lot
00:14:51
less of the eight selected block if your
00:14:54
numbers are less than 100 when added
00:14:56
together you'll actually just get your
00:14:58
normal block that was there previously
00:15:00
to stay there
00:15:01
down here is just a preview of your
00:15:03
noise which is basically your
00:15:05
randomization pattern thingamajig
00:15:08
going up to the next tool is the biome
00:15:10
painter now this has the same selection
00:15:12
thing as freehand select and painter and
00:15:14
what you've seen before
00:15:16
but what this allows you to do is Select
00:15:19
and paint biomes
00:15:22
right now I'm in a planes biome but if I
00:15:24
fill in this area here using right click
00:15:27
you'll notice that it will add a little
00:15:29
overlay to it
00:15:30
the grass color also changed and if I
00:15:32
press F3 I'll now be in the Badlands bio
00:15:35
to select your biome you just go to this
00:15:37
drop down and select what you want you
00:15:39
can also tell it to fill vertically
00:15:40
which means that it will go all the way
00:15:42
up to height limit and to visualize the
00:15:44
biomes on or off which means it will
00:15:46
tell you where they are right now it's
00:15:47
pretty easy to see because I have grass
00:15:49
but if you didn't have foliage it'd be
00:15:50
pretty hard to tell without this on next
00:15:52
up is the contaminator
00:15:54
down at the bottom you'll notice the
00:15:56
same standard brush tools down here is
00:15:58
the terrain and having this on will
00:16:00
allow you to place certain sets of
00:16:01
blocks so for example fertile ocean
00:16:04
floor is like this has a bunch of clay
00:16:07
and stuff whereas grass is just grass
00:16:09
you can't see it here
00:16:11
but gravel ground is Gravelly ground
00:16:13
with Cobblestone and stone and all the
00:16:15
juicy goodness you've ever won
00:16:17
and also set it to set decorations or
00:16:20
clear decorations decorations are things
00:16:22
such as grass so if I wanted grass
00:16:26
and I said no terrain you could just
00:16:28
make it Place grass and you can set the
00:16:30
grassiness level of how much grass you
00:16:32
want if you want no grass a tiny bit of
00:16:35
grass or a bunch of grass you can also
00:16:38
set whether you want to allow Tall Grass
00:16:39
you can turn either of these on or off
00:16:41
so if you only wanted to place grass you
00:16:43
can do that or if you only wanted to
00:16:45
place the ground you can do that as well
00:16:47
next up is freehand draw this is
00:16:49
basically the painter tool but in 3D you
00:16:52
can basically select a shape and your
00:16:54
radius and you can draw with right click
00:16:57
the shape you want next up is the sculpt
00:16:59
draw this is similar to the freehand
00:17:01
drop but it uses the blocks below hand
00:17:03
to create the shape for example if I go
00:17:05
over my platform here it's going to use
00:17:06
my platform blocks to mold that shape we
00:17:08
were just drawing with this will match
00:17:10
whatever is below it such as the wool or
00:17:13
whatever other block you have you can
00:17:15
see there's a radius not a shape but
00:17:18
there is a shrink you can turn this down
00:17:20
to get a smaller sculpting ability or up
00:17:23
really high to get crazy spiky things
00:17:25
invert means that it will go downwards
00:17:28
instead of upwards denoise will make it
00:17:31
smoother
00:17:34
and turning it off will make it less
00:17:36
smoother mask y helps to result in more
00:17:39
gradual changes which is nice for
00:17:41
shaping the tops of surfaces
00:17:44
next up is the rock tool using your
00:17:47
active block this will create
00:17:48
randomized-ish Rock patterns so for
00:17:51
example if I drag here
00:17:53
you'll notice that it's randomizing a
00:17:54
bit of the block shape so I'm rolling
00:17:57
over this area in the middle here but
00:17:58
it's not really placing anything
00:18:00
this is nice for creating Boulders and
00:18:02
whatnot you can disable the live preview
00:18:04
if you want so if you want to run
00:18:06
slightly smoother and not tell you what
00:18:07
block it is here's your standard brush
00:18:10
settings and here's your noise radius
00:18:13
turning this up
00:18:15
will mean that the noise is bigger you
00:18:18
can think about the similar to our noise
00:18:19
painter earlier you can see that there's
00:18:21
big chunks here but if I turn it down
00:18:24
there's a lot more of a smaller pattern
00:18:26
on the top of these rocks next up is
00:18:28
noisiness which will kind of say how
00:18:30
separated your blocks are by that noise
00:18:32
field now it's really easy to see it if
00:18:34
they're not on at all it's basically
00:18:36
just the freehand draw tool but if you
00:18:38
do this and the noise radius up you can
00:18:40
see that you can get some cool
00:18:41
randomized block patterns you can even
00:18:43
turn down your radius here to get some
00:18:46
nice little Boulders all around the area
00:18:48
smoothing down here we'll see how smooth
00:18:50
your rocks are for example if I turn
00:18:52
that off they're very rough and if I
00:18:54
turn it on all the way they're much more
00:18:56
smooth melt strength is related to the
00:18:58
smoothing and basically says how much
00:19:00
they connect to the ground on each other
00:19:03
this also has a reset default button in
00:19:05
case you mess up your settings a lot
00:19:06
next up is the weld tool which
00:19:09
essentially welds two surfaces together
00:19:11
and this is very helpful for getting a
00:19:13
bit more of a smooth transition between
00:19:14
different surfaces
00:19:17
you can change the smoothing strength
00:19:19
and how smooth you want it to be if it's
00:19:21
crazy smooth then you'll notice a bit of
00:19:22
a delay when you're moving your mouse
00:19:24
but it will be crazy smooth and this
00:19:26
threshold will decide how hard it is for
00:19:28
the tool to affect a certain area
00:19:30
next up is the Melt tool which
00:19:32
essentially is the same thing as the
00:19:35
weld tool but backwards you can delete
00:19:37
an area using different types of brushes
00:19:39
and it will smooth it out and it has the
00:19:41
same settings as the weld tool next up
00:19:43
is the text tool which means you can
00:19:45
type your text for example place it by
00:19:47
just clicking with right click
00:19:49
after that we have the elevation tool
00:19:51
this will raise or lower surfaces
00:19:54
you can choose the radius here and the
00:19:55
height the sharpness tool is a bit more
00:19:57
complicated but it basically makes the
00:20:00
edges sharper or more flat there's two
00:20:02
buttons down here which means either
00:20:03
we're raising or you're lowering
00:20:06
after that there's flatten which is very
00:20:09
similar to the other tool but it just
00:20:11
flattens out areas
00:20:12
it has the same brush settings and the
00:20:15
sharpness does pretty much the exact
00:20:16
same thing you can also lock the Y
00:20:20
which essentially means that it will
00:20:21
only affect
00:20:23
up to the Y level that you've selected
00:20:25
previously
00:20:29
next step is the slope tool which means
00:20:30
you can right click the spot where you
00:20:32
want your slope to start and then where
00:20:34
you want it to end you hold down the
00:20:36
button and draw a pathway of how you
00:20:38
want to get there
00:20:39
this is super helpful for making things
00:20:42
like Bridges
00:20:43
you can either do slopes in Planes which
00:20:45
means that if I select here and drag it
00:20:47
you'll notice that it goes from that
00:20:49
entire forever beyond words in a
00:20:51
straight line there's also cone which
00:20:54
selects in a more circular curved area
00:20:56
the sharpness here does the same thing
00:20:58
that elevation of flatten does next up
00:21:00
is the smooth tool this also has a live
00:21:03
preview button and your standard brush
00:21:04
settings as well as a smoothing strength
00:21:06
option when you go over with this tool
00:21:08
it will smooth out the area it goes over
00:21:11
it's hard to see here because it's
00:21:12
fairly smooth already but if I turn up
00:21:14
the strength to something like 10 you
00:21:16
can see that it will try to smooth out
00:21:17
this area like crazy and make it a bit
00:21:19
more rounded you can change this value
00:21:21
here to choose how smooth you want
00:21:22
something to be and this little
00:21:24
percentage mark is basically the number
00:21:26
of blocks that will be preserved if this
00:21:28
is at 100 then all the blocks will be
00:21:30
kept although just moved around
00:21:32
it's at 200 it will add double the
00:21:35
blocks and if it's at something like 25
00:21:37
it will take away 75 percent of the
00:21:39
blocks that's only in stable mode
00:21:42
however the Melt mode will do the same
00:21:43
thing but this percentage will affect it
00:21:45
now and the grow mode will do the same
00:21:46
thing and the percentage will just
00:21:48
affect it now this allows for some fine
00:21:50
tuning the fixed edges button around
00:21:52
here is an advanced setting but it
00:21:54
basically just prevents Jagged edges
00:21:56
from popping up there's also a reset
00:21:58
button in case you mess this one up next
00:22:00
step is distort and it will distorts you
00:22:03
can right click on something and it will
00:22:05
mess it up for you you can change the
00:22:07
scale which is essentially the same
00:22:08
thing as our noise settings and our
00:22:10
noise painter
00:22:11
distance which is similar to that as
00:22:14
well you can change the iterations there
00:22:17
are a bunch of complicated settings here
00:22:18
but basically messing around with them
00:22:19
will leave you different results and
00:22:21
different types of distortion
00:22:23
there's also smooth edges here which
00:22:25
will basically avoid Jagged edges next
00:22:27
up is the rough-in tool which is
00:22:30
designed to create those Jagged edges
00:22:31
you can see here that when I use it kind
00:22:33
of looks like something exploded and all
00:22:35
these settings down here are similar to
00:22:37
this sort tool and situation where you
00:22:39
kind of just mess around with them until
00:22:40
you get what you want less ratio
00:22:42
typically means less roughening and more
00:22:45
ratio typically means more ripening this
00:22:47
minimum faces thing is a bit more
00:22:49
complicated so we'll skip that for now
00:22:50
and these add and remove things we'll
00:22:53
decide whether you're adding or removing
00:22:55
blocks or doing both
00:22:57
next step is the shatter tool now this
00:22:59
is a super unique tool but the general
00:23:01
idea is it uses the noise we're familiar
00:23:03
with so kind of a randomized textury
00:23:05
thing and by changing that you can break
00:23:08
an area
00:23:09
you can see by using it it will kind of
00:23:11
shatter the ground this is easy to see
00:23:13
on a flat surface you can change your
00:23:15
brush settings like standard below that
00:23:17
is the shutter settings itself like the
00:23:19
scale so how far apart the cracks are by
00:23:21
default at a higher it will look more
00:23:22
like this and at a lower it could look
00:23:23
something more like this then there's
00:23:25
width which is how big those cracks are
00:23:27
wide wise so for example if I have a
00:23:30
pretty high scale you notice these are a
00:23:32
bit thinner but if I turn that up
00:23:34
they're much larger cracks you can also
00:23:37
use your active block to fill in where
00:23:39
that error usually goes this is cool for
00:23:41
texturing ground we'll skip all this
00:23:43
noise stuff for now because it's pretty
00:23:44
complicated and then we'll move on to
00:23:46
the extrude this works the exact same
00:23:48
way that our extrude in our hot bar
00:23:50
works and the idea that you can expand
00:23:53
or Shrink based on these buttons here
00:23:55
there's a displace button here which
00:23:57
basically means that if it's one wide it
00:23:58
will just move them instead of extending
00:24:00
them you also have your settings here
00:24:02
which how many blocks you're going to
00:24:04
extrude at once as well as what type of
00:24:06
thing you're extruding up next we're
00:24:07
going to go through this top bar over
00:24:09
here here starting off the edit tab you
00:24:11
can simply undo redo cut or copy or
00:24:14
objects as well as save blueprints which
00:24:16
we'll go over in a second in selection
00:24:19
there's a bunch of different options for
00:24:20
changing your selections such as
00:24:21
shrinking or expanding in the view tab
00:24:23
you can get a new view which is just
00:24:25
another way of pressing this plus button
00:24:27
right here and you can also show the
00:24:30
biomes
00:24:31
or show the key presses
00:24:34
or show your selections in the create
00:24:36
tab you can make different shapes if I
00:24:38
wanted to make a cube I could press the
00:24:41
button and you'll notice this create
00:24:42
shape window comes up and I can say what
00:24:45
width and size I want my Cube to be if I
00:24:47
want my Cube not to be a complete even
00:24:49
Cube then I can change the individual
00:24:51
widths here and say if it's Hollow or
00:24:52
not
00:24:53
and then I can either copy it to my
00:24:54
clipboard which means I can paste it
00:24:56
later we'll go over that again in a
00:24:58
second and I can change the rotation
00:24:59
here as well but if I hit place you'll
00:25:02
notice it pops up here and I can right
00:25:04
click to place it but before it's
00:25:06
officially placed I can move it around
00:25:08
and rotate it even diagonally which is
00:25:11
nuts and you can place it by pressing
00:25:13
enter this works for a bunch of
00:25:14
different types of shapes as well each
00:25:16
one with their own settings
00:25:18
in operations you can do things
00:25:19
automatically you can drain water set
00:25:22
the biome you can even fill a bunch of
00:25:24
weird ways like just the top part of the
00:25:26
selection
00:25:27
you can also simulate gravity and will
00:25:29
make your Things fall from your
00:25:31
selection or you can analyze which
00:25:33
essentially will give you a rundown of
00:25:36
what the heck your selection has there's
00:25:39
two masks which we'll skip for now
00:25:40
because that's a bit more of a
00:25:42
complicated thing and then there's
00:25:43
window now this is where you can open up
00:25:45
different windows on the side which is
00:25:47
super helpful so if you're missing a
00:25:48
window you can click here
00:25:50
and you can change your keybinds from
00:25:52
this help tab let's say that I really
00:25:54
like this Cube I've just selected and I
00:25:56
want to use it over and over and over
00:25:58
and over and over again
00:25:59
I can copy it
00:26:01
by pressing Ctrl C and I can paste it
00:26:04
anywhere by pressing Ctrl V this is
00:26:06
where this tab on the top right comes in
00:26:08
and it will give you a bunch of options
00:26:09
for when you're pasting things
00:26:11
for example if I wanted to keep existing
00:26:13
blocks where they are so where this
00:26:15
intersects with the grass and I want
00:26:17
this to be grass still I can press keep
00:26:19
existing but if it's off the grass blows
00:26:21
corner will still be rock you can also
00:26:23
choose whether to paste the air that was
00:26:25
nearby it which essentially will empty
00:26:27
out that area let's say I really want
00:26:29
this to be always available to my
00:26:31
clipboard for pasting and I can with it
00:26:33
selected and copied go to edit
00:26:37
save blueprint
00:26:39
and I can name it so let's say diagonal
00:26:42
Rock
00:26:43
I can say who made it I'm red Liam 5 so
00:26:45
I'll put my name there and I can add
00:26:47
different tags now this will make it
00:26:49
easier to search for in the blueprint
00:26:50
browser which is basically a collection
00:26:52
of clipboard stuff that you've copied
00:26:55
and want to paste all the time so if I
00:26:58
add a tag they have some default ones
00:26:59
here and you can make a new one just by
00:27:01
typing and clicking let's see if they
00:27:03
have Rock so it's a rock and that will
00:27:05
make it easy to search for and it's also
00:27:07
very large
00:27:08
you can add as much as you want and you
00:27:10
can choose the angle of
00:27:12
the thumbnail image which will let you
00:27:14
find it easier and then I'll hit save it
00:27:17
will open up in a different window
00:27:19
and you'll be able to select where you
00:27:20
want it to be saved I just use the
00:27:22
default folder
00:27:23
now that that's done you'll notice our
00:27:25
rock is gone but if I go to Windows
00:27:27
blueprint browser or just by clicking
00:27:30
this button here I can open this browser
00:27:32
with all of my other selections so I
00:27:35
love this diagonal Rock So if I click it
00:27:37
it will automatically be put into my
00:27:38
clipboard and I can paste it wherever my
00:27:40
cursor is just by pressing Ctrl V twice
00:27:43
or Ctrl V and enter
00:27:46
and whatever else I want until I get as
00:27:48
many as I want
00:27:49
you can also paste and rotate just like
00:27:51
normal and it basically is just a
00:27:53
straight up copy this is super helpful
00:27:55
if you have things like trees and you
00:27:57
want to paste a lot of trees around
00:27:58
because trees are a pain in the butt to
00:28:00
build all the time and it would be
00:28:01
easier just to make a few variants and
00:28:03
paste those all around
00:28:05
and that's the gist of Axiom it's super
00:28:07
amazing for building things especially
00:28:09
Landscapes and is super helpful just
00:28:11
when building anything in general you
00:28:13
can create roads using the texture
00:28:15
painting stuff and it's just ridiculous
00:28:18
the amount of things you can do in a
00:28:19
short time I was able to quickly put
00:28:21
together this little tiny scene here by
00:28:23
just pasting around a bunch of different
00:28:25
things and just building and it probably
00:28:27
took me about 10 times less than what it
00:28:29
would have taken before I know it's a
00:28:31
bit of a different type of video today
00:28:32
but I really wanted to show off this
00:28:33
cool tool so I'll see you later and
