00:02:57
Time rift
00:03:03
I hope you were given enough days off
00:03:09
If anything I can talk to them
00:03:13
the week was enough Are
00:03:16
you sure you are ready to go back to
00:03:19
work so soon
00:03:22
now I can either go to work or
00:03:25
lie at home looking at the ceiling So
00:03:31
I understand you, it takes time to move on from this,
00:03:39
I will
00:03:41
move on from what he did for the
00:03:44
rest of my life
00:03:47
I want to help you
00:03:50
I’m not sure that you will be able to eat
00:03:54
some more what I wanted to ask you about everything
00:03:58
that we did with your husband all these years
00:04:03
researched dreamed built planned you
00:04:07
want to continue without him
00:04:11
but first ask you
00:04:15
We both know
00:04:18
how firmly wells believed in this project
00:04:22
yes
00:04:24
he would like me to finish it and
00:04:27
bring it to fruition I sincerely believe in this
00:04:31
you like you I will
00:04:34
miss him every single day but I
00:04:38
believe that in the power to do this I can
00:04:40
convey our ideas his ideas for people
00:04:50
my blessing
00:05:02
Thank you
00:05:04
he would be very happy
00:05:38
Helen
00:05:41
a throw of fate Sorry for what you said Na
00:05:44
this week I'll throw
00:05:46
Alex out, I'll have
00:05:50
our lunch time in your hands
00:05:58
six by four six by four 24
00:06:07
[music]
00:06:22
do you want to show them how to do it
00:06:26
I'm not the same, I hardly could have done it,
00:06:30
well Hello honey Do
00:06:34
you want tea,
00:06:38
forget tea I have whiskey that's more interesting,
00:06:43
much
00:06:48
incredible He still works even though it's been
00:06:51
on the shelf for 5 years oh
00:06:58
Okay almost works
00:07:01
I thought you'd kill me for it Wells
00:07:05
ate talked me out of it
00:07:08
funny
00:07:12
Listen you come to the laboratory whenever you
00:07:16
want
00:07:17
do something for fun
00:07:25
for fun yes
00:07:28
why not
00:07:33
Florence listens and doesn't have to stop it
00:07:36
Helen Don't even think
00:07:40
keep it
00:07:43
at any time

00:12:47
go away
00:12:50
What's quick
00:13:06
who is it
00:13:10
What are you talking about
00:13:24
My car is gone I don't understand keep your
00:13:47
head down
00:13:49
How did you know who
00:14:53
[music]
00:15:01
[music ]
00:15:21
calmly
00:15:26
let's go
00:15:32
behind the house on the
00:15:54
right you behind the wall quickly
00:16:12
calmly
00:16:18
don't trust anyone but yourself
00:16:28
house
00:16:39
yes
00:16:41
but she is
00:16:45
physically alive yes
00:16:50
she ran away I couldn't talk to her she
00:16:53
ran away Why Who knows why she
00:16:58
does what she does
00:17:04
I want to find
00:17:07
find out where she is
00:17:10
you don't want find out who she was talking to the
00:17:14
most important thing is
00:17:16
leave her I said
00:18:22
Friday June 2, 2017
00:18:33
[music]
00:19:03
Where were you I saw I was I went to
00:19:08
bed last night And when I woke up in
00:19:10
the morning a whole week had passed we hadn’t had
00:19:12
these clothes I don’t remember anything quietly
00:19:14
Slow down Where you were there all week
00:19:18
I don’t know I was hoping you would tell me I haven’t
00:19:20
seen you since last Friday
00:19:22
Are you serious yes you said that you would go out of
00:19:26
town for the weekend it didn’t work out I
00:19:28
at first thought that you were staying there I
00:19:30
remember telling you that good So
00:19:33
you I went I
00:19:36
have no idea I remember going to the
00:19:40
laboratory after work then came
00:19:42
home and went to bed And after that I
00:19:44
woke up this morning and nothing did
00:19:50
you say to anyone today No no
00:19:53
one called asking questions about me
00:19:55
nothing
00:19:59
okay calm down
00:20:04
I missed a whole week of work I
00:20:07
called you at home on your cell phone in the cottage
00:20:10
even came to see you nothing
00:20:15
I don’t know where you were I was so worried
00:20:19
about you all of us
00:20:21
because I disappeared Yes because of Wells
00:20:26
bolder only a month has passed since
00:20:30
this happened people were afraid for you
00:20:33
That’s all in short
00:20:37
Okay let's go
00:20:39
Where to the hospital no
00:20:44
I have to find out where I was And what I was
00:20:46
doing You have to take me to the cottage
00:20:49
Now why don't you go Lend
00:20:53
me your car Well, where did yours go and
00:20:55
the keys maybe the answer to the question of
00:20:59
what happened is waiting for me there
00:21:10
[music]
00:21:30
I already forgot how there are terribly fewer people here,
00:21:33
more deer, better for hunting, you didn’t
00:21:36
say that you hunt before, I had a
00:21:40
hard time hunting, I’m the only one with dad,
00:21:44
what was left for him?
00:21:48
I tried to teach Wilson everything to no avail.
00:21:50
City guy, your cars aren’t here.
00:22:20
Well, let’s go already in the hospital
00:22:25
no, maybe I’ll remember something I need
00:22:27
to concentrate
00:22:28
I understand you want to do it your own way but
00:22:32
you need help, it’s like
00:22:46
you disappeared, I’m already back you
00:22:52
need to see a doctor, he will explain what’s happening to you, it’s
00:22:54
unlikely that the doctor will explain what’s
00:22:56
happening to me
00:23:29
[music ]
00:24:02
It was definitely your car
00:24:06
Give me your phone number why just give me
00:24:10
okay
00:24:16
Helen Phillips
00:24:19
and what
00:24:29
Alex can
00:24:35
you hear
00:24:42
Alex
00:24:44
who is this
00:24:48
Where are you now
00:24:51
So you found out wait
00:24:58
called me in the morning to warn me
00:25:00
Maybe she's impersonating you stealing
00:25:03
your identity
00:25:04
she didn't impersonate for me it was me
00:25:07
This is clearly impossible So please
00:25:09
come up with another answer
00:25:11
What do you know about what you were working on
00:25:12
before you died
00:25:15
Tell Mr. Griffin your health
00:25:18
has changed
00:25:20
nausea headaches have returned yes that
00:25:24
is, no
00:25:27
and your dreams are still too vivid
00:25:32
yes
00:25:34
Well that’s just dreams
00:25:39
okay let's talk about your memory there
00:25:41
is an improvement
00:25:44
No just
00:25:47
emptiness a
00:25:52
big failure
00:25:55
From what point does this failure begin about a
00:25:59
week before the experiment
00:26:04
Maybe earlier
00:26:06
including a 36-hour loop
00:26:09
it is a complete emptiness
00:26:13
as if nothing was
00:26:17
good thanks you
00:26:24
need to find Helen I think I said clearly
00:26:27
Judging Wells told me all over I project
00:26:30
she wasn’t there for a whole week we don’t know
00:26:32
where she was talking to anyone she
00:26:34
could say anything about what you’re
00:26:36
doing here You what do you want to interrogate
00:26:39
I just want to talk It’s not
00:26:41
necessary
00:26:51
I want to believe in it anyone the engineer wanted
00:26:53
Well, one simple fact about which the
00:26:57
laws of physics say time travel
00:26:59
is impossible Why then Wells hid so much about
00:27:01
what he was working on because
00:27:03
they clearly weren’t making toasters,
00:27:06
which means Volunteers began to be sent to the
00:27:08
last couple of months ago for a maximum of
00:27:10
36 hours Then why why if everything
00:27:13
was going so well Why did Wells end it
00:27:17
why did he do what he did why
00:27:19
now I'm
00:27:27
sorry I shouldn't have asked
00:27:33
Volunteers started having
00:27:36
memory problems like I'm having now
00:27:39
Wells was so upset that he couldn't
00:27:41
change it Maybe that's why
00:27:49
he was depressed before but didn't so At
00:27:54
least that's not what they want
00:27:56
How do I even know
00:28:01
If I was more sensitive if I was
00:28:05
n't so absorbed in my own work
00:28:07
maybe
00:28:09
he rejected
00:28:11
our life together He rejected me I'm
00:28:14
so angry at him for this
00:28:18
That night he came here alone wanted to
00:28:21
work on a bug in the prototype
00:28:24
Far from the laboratory
00:28:27
to clear his mind,
00:28:34
he was
00:28:37
upset about something,
00:28:41
I understood it,
00:28:44
but I did
00:28:47
n’t stop him
00:28:52
better Damn in
00:28:56
the morning I called and
00:29:00
and again
00:29:03
and when he answered me I
00:29:06
I came here and then
00:29:12
then I found him I
00:29:16
found him
00:29:21
Listen me okay
00:29:23
I went through the same thing the same thing that you
00:29:27
are going through now I know what it’s like
00:29:31
that morning we had breakfast together
00:29:36
and in the afternoon
00:29:39
Caroline died of a
00:29:42
brain hemorrhage
00:29:44
and when life moved on on its own course I was
00:29:49
stuck in the country what
00:29:51
if I did it why didn’t I do it
00:29:54
how could I have missed this
00:29:58
it was three years ago
00:30:01
That’s how long it took me to understand
00:30:04
that everything is fine After all, I’m alive
00:30:10
You’re suffering, you’re reproaching yourself, you’re living in
00:30:13
the past,
00:30:16
it doesn’t help him
00:32:00
God
00:32:03
This is definitely not for hunting
00:32:08
our first date cat our first
00:32:12
date with Walesom day month year
00:32:16
in college we went to the same bar We
00:32:19
used this combination like a cat
00:32:21
no one knew it
00:32:23
he left it for you no last time I did
00:32:27
n’t see it you
00:32:33
think it’s different I
00:32:38
don’t know
00:33:04
[music]
00:36:25
[music]
00:37:47
Damn it can’t even be
00:38:05
asked I don’t want to
00:38:49
get caught
00:38:55
Tell me that I do
00:38:57
n’t know, something to do with optics, this is a
00:39:00
mathematical description of the optimal
00:39:02
frame rate of a video camera with a set of
00:39:04
lenses, subject to lighting, I should be delighted with
00:39:06
this, okay, look,
00:39:10
we had a game of something like a guessing game
00:39:13
only for mathematicians One one of us wrote a
00:39:16
series of equations, a problem in physics, a
00:39:18
descriptive mathematical formula, these
00:39:22
equations denoted a specific
00:39:24
physical phenomenon,
00:39:25
for example, an
00:39:28
equation describing the throwing of a
00:39:30
baseball, the meaning of the game is for the
00:39:32
second to guess the object as early as possible and the
00:39:35
equation for throwing the baseball first understood
00:39:37
you were still those nerds and were proud of
00:39:40
it, these equations it means a video camera,
00:39:43
they are written the same way as in our game there is
00:39:49
a video camera hidden in the house, but that’s not
00:39:52
all I remember that on the day of his death I saw
00:39:54
a board but didn’t solve the equation.
00:39:57
Nothing came to mind, so everything remained
00:40:42
careful,
00:41:10
it looks like some kind of Walz Spy games
00:41:14
wanted me to find this message You
00:41:17
don’t have to believe me, just help me
00:41:19
okay, I believe you then look for
00:41:32
where it came from.
00:41:34
The manager gave you the money. This is
00:41:36
her third visit in a week, it’s her,
00:41:44
look, she’s buying
00:41:47
timers, digital scales, pressure cooker,
00:41:51
any ideas
00:41:53
I know what you’re talking about you're getting on Okay,
00:41:57
I'll say it for you, it's your girl who
00:42:03
looks like she wants to blow something up, this is nonsense,
00:42:13
who is this? This is interesting
00:42:48
[music]
00:42:53
what did you see? Well
00:42:59
defended the recording, I don't think it's
00:43:02
Wells. She was already here, she solved
00:43:04
the equation, found the camera, looked at the recording
00:43:07
and blocked it. we need to tell
00:43:10
Thomas about all this, he will help
00:43:13
Walls’ paranoia is not accidental
00:43:15
Yes, and the other one I already saw the records so that it
00:43:17
wasn’t there I didn’t go to Thomas if
00:43:20
the other you really exists
00:43:22
You have another theory, let’s say there
00:43:25
is a time machine then the laboratory
00:43:27
is guarded like a safe in the bank How could you
00:43:29
go there and travel in time
00:43:35
I don’t know
00:43:38
we can sit and continue to look for the
00:43:40
perfect explanation but I’m asking for your
00:43:43
help now that I need it what do you
00:43:46
want to do I want to find you
00:43:57
really think you
00:43:58
’ll need it
00:44:04
Maybe you know it’s not as good as
00:44:06
you think,
00:44:14
but what will happen if you both end up in the
00:44:16
same place at the same time The universe will
00:44:18
collapse
00:44:20
I hope not
00:44:23
You heard
00:44:37
What you’re doing
00:44:49
Helen I ask you Let me in you didn’t do
00:44:52
anything wrong they came to help
00:44:54
How do you know
00:45:01
Yes you wait
00:45:07
We have
00:45:10
caravan record Why did you buy it I don’t
00:45:13
understand what you mean we
00:45:18
what do you need from me
00:45:23
you called them What the hell Please
00:45:26
let them help you you have 10 seconds to
00:45:30
open the door
00:45:31
Put this thing down
00:45:36
first Put down the rifle
00:45:41
five four
00:45:45
three
00:45:47
two
00:45:50
one
00:45:54
Drop the gun
00:46:01
So what then
00:46:03
give it to me or think about it
00:46:14
okay Okay calm down
00:46:20
Alex Are
00:46:27
you going to take it with you
00:46:31
these I can’t trust you
00:46:34
you’re making a terrible mistake
00:47:08
you called him you didn’t listen to me you didn’t
00:47:12
let yourself help I thought he knew
00:47:14
what to do I trusted you I’m sorry but
00:47:16
that’s it is getting out of control, you
00:47:21
can get out of the car now if
00:47:24
you want, but I'll find her, I'll find out what's
00:47:27
happening to me, why did I send myself to
00:47:29
the past?
00:47:32
Well, what are you doing with me? I've already decided everything
00:47:38
[music] [applause]
00:47:45
Well, I'm glad
00:48:03
I didn't want to pull the trigger you almost blew
00:48:07
that guy's brains out I didn't blow it out on purpose
00:48:11
but the other me is somewhere nearby buying
00:48:13
rifles and pressure cookers and they clearly think
00:48:17
that for the bomb it's like
00:48:20
they're doing something with my hands and I can't
00:48:22
control it
00:48:25
you know I've had these stupid ones since childhood
00:48:28
fears that I will be accused of something I
00:48:30
didn’t do and now this is
00:48:33
only happening. The point is that I probably did it, it
00:48:39
would be fun if it weren’t so sophisticated
00:48:48
from you
00:48:50
And what is there
00:48:54
you have to understand why he shouldn’t
00:48:56
live for this, watch the video
00:49:00
Virs Viva Helen,
00:49:05
she left the camera for you. For us,
00:49:09
the password must be known. We both have something personal
00:49:12
between us.
00:49:20
Look around

00:51:28
What happened,
00:51:31
she can be tracked again
00:51:36
Yes, she still has my gun, but they are
00:51:38
riding on something,
00:51:40
I will go wherever it leads this thing is a
00:52:44
hotel
00:52:51
for one night please 50 dollars for us
00:52:54
only for a couple of hours This is not a hotel
00:52:58
we will pay for a night
00:53:09
and so
00:53:12
this is a message for us the password should
00:53:14
bind us just us
00:53:18
read it again
00:53:24
you must understand why he should not
00:53:27
live for this watch the video
00:53:29
visvivalen The
00:53:35
living power of the
00:53:37
energy conservation system do
00:53:43
you remember our conversations about God Yes, you
00:53:46
still believe, I’m still trying,
00:53:51
this is where you need to look for
00:53:58
the password incorrect
00:54:05
saving
00:54:08
password incorrect
00:54:12
energy
00:54:16
password incorrect I
00:54:20
need to remember restore our
00:54:24
conversations
00:54:27
I remember how I envied your Faith after the
00:54:29
death of Caroline
00:54:31
but I I couldn’t suddenly start believing in that
00:54:34
light just because it would make me feel
00:54:35
better I remember what you told me
00:54:38
the words of Galileo
00:54:41
Mathematics is the language in which God
00:54:44
wrote the universe This thought captured me
00:54:48
I asked myself what that light is from the point
00:54:50
of view of physics or chemistry
00:54:52
this and there is conservation of energy
00:54:55
conservation of matter the idea is that the
00:54:59
essence of Caroline is her soul Call it whatever you
00:55:01
want,
00:55:02
she didn’t disappear at all but
00:55:05
moved somewhere
00:55:08
Galileo’s phrase became my mantra
00:55:11
bridge Between my mind and heart
00:55:15
and I didn’t thank you for it
00:55:26
I was so confident in myself when I told
00:55:28
you this,
00:55:31
but everything is different when I myself am in such a situation
00:55:42
Galileo,
00:55:53
what does it have to do with this,
00:56:11
maybe I should just disable the prototype.
00:56:13
I don’t want to work with them either,
00:56:16
but we can’t stop the project that we
00:56:19
promised the
00:56:21
good to never
00:56:23
change this technology. That’s exactly the
00:56:26
goal has always been Just to prove that it is
00:56:29
possible but not to do it, but we are scientists,
00:56:33
maniphilosophers, not politicians, the task of scientists is
00:56:41
for the results of these advances, the terms of
00:56:45
the deal, we have no other sources of
00:56:47
funding and you know it
00:57:10
[music]
00:57:39
no, why did
00:57:42
we start all this,
00:57:46
not for the money,
00:57:48
not for the damn Nobel awards
00:57:52
for the joy of doing what everyone always
00:57:55
thought was impossible
00:58:10
[music]
00:59:19
best piece of [ __ ] I'll kill him I have to
00:59:23
kill him
00:59:29
Oh God Exactly That's what she's doing that's
00:59:34
trying to kill Thomas
00:59:37
message she said
00:59:39
you should understand why he shouldn't
00:59:41
live what
00:59:44
if I already killed him and didn’t
00:59:46
remember anything and then sent herself back.
00:59:48
Why stop her from stopping you, what if I
00:59:52
realized that I was wrong, that I don’t want to
00:59:53
become a killer, that I can’t
00:59:55
go back and save Wells, but I can save
00:59:57
myself and in another way, what should I do
01:00:12
for one night?
01:00:47
must find If you were her you
01:00:50
are she where would you go
01:02:43
you bet on the wrong dog in this fight
01:02:46
buddy
01:02:48
went
01:02:52
where did she run
01:03:15
That's why we all are physicists, engineers, chemists
01:03:19
should read books watch movies
01:03:21
study philosophy science does not live in a
01:03:24
vacuum we need nuance you need context
01:03:30
You don’t do something Just because
01:03:32
you know how to do it Especially if it can
01:03:34
harm people You can’t sacrifice In the
01:03:37
name of progress
01:03:40
But if by sacrificing a few you can
01:03:43
save thousands then what does that mean
01:03:46
we know what will happen in the future But we
01:03:49
can’t know that means we should live
01:03:51
like insects reacting to the situation
01:03:54
if you try to do the maximum possible
01:03:57
in each such situation then of course
01:04:02
moral insects are
01:04:06
for living with dignity
01:04:59
Helen you graduated
01:05:03
Florence Hello
01:05:07
I
01:05:09
forgot my backpack here
01:05:10
You don’t mind if we of course have
01:05:22
absolutely no use from you
01:05:26
What else should I tell the truth or do you
01:05:29
think I believed what you believe in Two
01:05:31
versions of Helen running around the city Helen of
01:05:34
this she has proof you saw
01:05:36
two Helens in one place No she
01:05:39
told you the stock prices
01:05:45
she just convinced you she
01:05:48
told a beautiful story You believed the
01:05:51
palms I don’t blame you crazy people can be
01:05:55
very convincing they do it so passionately
01:05:58
Helen is not crazy but she
01:06:02
will offend her Paranoia she's just
01:06:06
delusional The stress from Wells' suicide
01:06:09
drove her to a breakdown it wasn't
01:06:11
suicide
01:06:16
Wells killed Thomas Batman
01:06:24
you know what
01:06:26
You're worse than Helen I'll show you
01:06:33
[music]
01:06:35
you so strange lately I don’t
01:06:38
understand
01:06:39
what are you talking about about
01:06:41
how you locked yourself out this morning
01:06:43
slammed the door right in my face
01:06:46
Forgive me When you show me what
01:06:50
you’re building there
01:06:53
it’s not very interesting
01:07:10
she was
01:07:12
I was here Are you sure what it is
01:07:19
strange question When was the
01:07:22
last time you saw me I do
01:07:24
n’t remember About 15 minutes ago
01:08:24
the machine sends only 36 hours
01:08:27
ago not enough to save hair
01:08:32
halen saw it
01:08:37
so that’s what she wants to take revenge on Thomas
01:08:41
not now
01:08:43
listen even if this machine does
01:08:47
what you say I don’t care that we can't
01:08:49
get to her so enough of this nonsense about the
01:08:51
two Helens Say what she's up to forget
01:08:54
Helen now we need to look for Thomas one
01:08:58
way or another we need to find him
01:09:14
home home or to the laboratory
01:09:17
let's rely on luck
01:09:18
[music]
01:11:02
[applause]
01:11:10
[music]
01:11:37
yeah
01:11:51
[ music]
01:11:56
Thomas
01:11:59
we have problems
01:12:06
[music]
01:12:20
what are you doing here
01:12:23
I'm saving you
01:12:27
so inside
01:12:42
wipe the Hall you
01:13:16
can go I can handle it
01:13:22
means you're saving me why
01:13:26
I already killed you Once And I won't allow
01:13:29
myself to do it again again I
01:13:32
used the prototype
01:13:35
I'm back
01:13:37
Enough please
01:13:39
Let us help you just like you helped
01:13:42
Wales
01:13:45
that
01:13:47
I know that you did
01:13:50
Wellslept depression he was sick everyone
01:13:54
knows this you ruined my life you
01:13:59
killed your colleague my husband you Killed
01:14:03
him For what sake for the
01:14:05
sake of sick pride this is the truth and I
01:14:10
killed you for it
01:14:12
But it did me a killer like
01:14:15
you that's why I went back to
01:14:17
save your worthless life
01:14:21
then where are you
01:14:24
where is Helen the killer
01:14:30
I don't know it's because what you
01:14:33
say is impossible just another
01:14:35
fantasy
01:14:39
no listen to me
01:14:42
to use the prototype you need to
01:14:45
get into this building without anyone
01:14:47
noticing you
01:14:49
Next, you need to know where we keep the car and
01:14:53
you need to know how to drive it,
01:14:57
even if Wells was so careless and
01:15:01
told you all this, it still doesn’t
01:15:03
matter. You know why. Because now
01:15:07
you’re standing right in front of me,
01:15:11
access is allowed.
01:15:14
You understand me,
01:15:17
you weren’t standing next to me. with the car and
01:15:20
never will
01:15:25
[music]
01:15:32
you were right about
01:15:35
he was going to destroy everything
01:15:38
so I
01:15:40
had to kill him
01:15:55
You're just a pathetic coward turned into a
01:15:59
smug [ __ ] I just kindly

01:21:07
again
01:21:10

01:22:03
I can’t believe we have now
01:22:06
sent a piece of titanium to the past it
01:22:09
turned out It turned out damn it then
01:22:12
for posterity from the man who
01:22:15
invented the time machine where Sorry when
01:22:17
you go what do you want to see
01:22:19
no no it won’t be quite like that If
01:22:22
you could go anywhere and whenever
01:22:25
you want
01:22:27
Well, I definitely wouldn’t go to the past
01:22:31
unfortunately Nostalgia is all just

options for death I’m optimistic as always
01:22:38
Past present future
01:22:43
