But what is it famous for? The place where Red square is located now was determined during the reign of the Russian Tsar. It was in the time of Ivan III. This was the time when the Kremlin began to be rebuilt, and the square was located along it (this is the end of the XV and beginning of the XVI centuries). This is the Central square of the city of Moscow and the entire Russian Federation. The size of the area is not small and it reaches 330 meters in length and 70 meters in width. On its territory are located such famous attractions as the monument to Minin and Pozharsky, the mausoleum where, after so many years, the body of the great Russian leader – Lenin is located. Looking only at the St. Basil's Cathedral, you can judge the greatness and beauty of the square itself. In the 80s of the last century, the square was included in the UNESCO heritage list. Until this moment, cars moved around the square, now there is only a pedestrian zone. The entire area is paved with paving stones. The Central place on the square is occupied by the mausoleum where the body of Lenin is located, it is here that tourists most often go. But when visiting the mausoleum, there are a number of restrictions: you can not enter it with bags, backpacks and bags. You can't go here even with a mobile phone that has a video camera. In the southern part of the square, you can see the frontal place. This place is located on a hill, and is surrounded by a fence. Previously, there was an opinion that executions were carried out at this place, but by and large this is erroneous. In General, the place was considered Holy, and the Royal decrees were read out on it. At the beginning of the war, this is the place where a man stood and announced it. Even the procession was made around it, not around the temple. Red square is a truly historical place where all important events related to the history of our country took place.
