[music] the
00:00:16
first trips to the garden after winter are one of the
00:00:18
most exciting in the life of a Gardener And the
00:00:20
first spring flowers leave the
00:00:23
strongest impressions I am Irina Belysheva with
00:00:25
you the program Landscape tricks and the
00:00:27
Theme of our program is primroses
00:00:30
[music]
00:01:01
admire the colors of the spring garden We
00:01:03
came to Evgeniy Sapunov Evgeniy
00:01:06
Landscape architect is a big lover of
00:01:08
flowers Hello Evgeniy Hello
00:01:11
Welcome to our garden thank you
00:01:13
very much because for me, to be
00:01:15
honest, this is such a very big event
00:01:17
because the spring garden is usually so
00:01:21
short-lived, it blooms so quickly, the
00:01:23
yoke is so rarely seen and here in
00:01:25
your garden this is a rare opportunity
00:01:27
to see how rich the Spring garden is in
00:01:31
flowers, shapes and various
00:01:33
combinations of shades. So we are
00:01:36
very grateful to you that you called us
00:01:38
[music]
00:02:06
Evgeniy Well now, of course, I want to know
00:02:09
the details, I want to know what is visible in
00:02:11
this beautiful spring flower garden
00:02:13
which I want to notice is all made up of
00:02:14
spring there are actually more flowering plants here,
00:02:18
just some have already
00:02:19
bloomed, some will bloom in the future, that is,
00:02:22
what is blooming here? Well, primroses are
00:02:26
probably the most famous spring
00:02:28
plants now blooming hyacinth has already
00:02:31
bloomed
00:02:32
daffodils three lima interesting quite
00:02:34
rare plants the hellebore is blooming,
00:02:37
which has been blooming for almost a month Well,
00:02:39
then there are anemones, hazel grouse, mountain goat weed, candy, that
00:02:44
is, the number of plants that
00:02:47
can be decorated with a sheer line, in
00:02:48
fact, this list is very large. Yes, they are
00:02:51
very diverse and, well, no
00:02:53
less than summer plants or there are a
00:02:56
lot of bulbous plants and a lot of autumn ones than autumn ones.
00:03:01
spring plants that bloom for a long time, in principle,
00:03:04
Evgeniy Well, the decoration of this
00:03:07
flower garden is definitely primroses,
00:03:10
I also saw them right away, the most
00:03:13
important thing is that they are very different, they are so
00:03:14
colorful, maybe we
00:03:16
’ll talk about them in more detail today Let’s
00:03:18
talk Well, here is such a small
00:03:22
exhibition belt actually here they
00:03:25
are, terry white little blue ones,
00:03:28
there are even then,
00:03:31
as far as I know, primroses came to our garden
00:03:33
from the forest, even we, I remember as a
00:03:34
child, we collected them,
00:03:37
how they once grew in the forest, like the same
00:03:41
trillium, this is actually a forest plant,
00:03:42
like a magician who so and is called
00:03:44
Forest Japanese, like hellebore, in
00:03:47
principle, all the plants came to us from
00:03:48
some forest, it’s just a man of cultivation and through
00:03:52
selection and selection he developed
00:03:54
large-flowered garden
00:03:56
varieties that are so
00:03:58
interesting
00:04:00
[music] [music
00:04:12
]
00:04:30
[music]
00:04:38
Why do people love primroses so much?
00:04:40
Of course, you can immediately guess because
00:04:41
apparently they are so
00:04:43
different in shape and color. Well,
00:04:46
in the shape of the color. Yes, now there are a lot of
00:04:48
interesting varieties, then after a long
00:04:51
winter, when something finally blooms, you fall
00:04:52
in love with everything white and white, suddenly it’s so
00:04:56
bright and so primal. interesting such a
00:04:59
good feature they bloom for quite a long time,
00:05:00
that is, not for a day or two And
00:05:02
depending on the weather, they can bloom for up to
00:05:04
a month, form many flowers, that
00:05:07
is, very interesting, very
00:05:08
popular, easy to reproduce, easy to
00:05:11
care for, in fact, do not require easy to
00:05:13
share And by the way, how to care for them
00:05:16
that is, they can grow on any soil in
00:05:18
any garden. Well, they
00:05:19
prefer a more clayey soil
00:05:22
that contains more moisture, not a castle, but
00:05:25
just like this, heavier
00:05:27
because I know on sandy soils and there are
00:05:31
cases of primroses falling out when they fall out.
00:05:33
Here we have loamy soil and they
00:05:36
even survived the famous freezing
00:05:38
rains there when all the primroses died. We
00:05:42
still have them and they feel good,
00:05:44
but you said that they reproduce
00:05:46
easily, is it they that divide or they divide in the
00:05:50
primrose. How to say the only thing can be
00:05:52
considered a disadvantage it must be
00:05:55
divided there quite often in two years, that is,
00:05:58
because then it just turns out to be
00:05:59
very filling the bush and begins to
00:06:03
crush itself, as it were. Well, it’s enough to divide it in half,
00:06:06
in principle, there are no problems with primrose in
00:06:09
this sense because everyone comes and
00:06:11
says oh Give me a piece Give me a piece and so
00:06:13
in fact you divide it because
00:06:16
every new guest says oh I want this this this this
00:06:17
this and usually the problem is
00:06:21
that oh there’s nothing left to divide Wait
00:06:23
there for a year until it grows Well this
00:06:25
bush is about 2 years old that is,
00:06:27
you see they are enough quickly
00:06:29
grows back there are several types of primroses
00:06:32
there are stemless primroses when the
00:06:34
flower sits on one petiole
00:06:37
quite short there are
00:06:38
petiolate primroses when the flower sits
00:06:42
on flowers Yes several flowers
00:06:45
sit on one petiole there are also
00:06:48
serrated primroses you know such a ball on a
00:06:51
stalk it turns out how many varieties do you have didn’t
00:06:54
think we were somehow like that, we buy
00:06:57
something there for sale, it multiplies, so I
00:07:01
can’t say clearly, but somewhere around 20.
00:07:03
Well, I think that they are just a gardener
00:07:05
cannot limit this, now there are
00:07:07
large collections. This is a plant
00:07:09
that has clearly come to For us from the forest, this
00:07:11
plant is called trium, but you don’t see
00:07:14
three leaves, so trium, there are several
00:07:18
different types of trillium, differing in
00:07:21
size and color of the
00:07:23
flower, in principle, for such an experienced
00:07:26
gardener it is not difficult to grow them,
00:07:32
they melt, that’s the shadow that is moving enough, the
00:07:35
soil is IL, just that heavy clay They they don’t
00:07:38
like it Well, we just gave them space
00:07:40
accordingly, this plant
00:07:42
came from the forest, it’s closer to such
00:07:44
Far Eastern plants. Forest plant
00:07:47
- this means the soil should be similar to the
00:07:49
one that exists in the forest. Well, in general, there is a
00:07:52
universal rule for the rotation of all plants
00:07:54
because Many people ask about the agrotech of
00:07:56
plants I tell everyone I say, look at the
00:07:59
growth in nature and repeat these conditions
00:08:02
yourself in the garden and then it will be what you
00:08:20
need [music] Evgeniy But these Yellow flowers,
00:08:23
these bushes are also very pretty and the so-
00:08:26
called Poppy of the Forest, or gecko in Latin,
00:08:31
wonderful bushes he reproduces it
00:08:34
grows on us like a weed, we are more likely
00:08:36
to fight it now, we planted it once, now the
00:08:39
main method of agricultural technology is
00:08:41
weeding so that it doesn’t clog something
00:08:44
good. Well, that’s how long this flower garden is,
00:08:47
how long. That’s approximately how long it stays in a
00:08:48
blooming state, well, this flower garden
00:08:51
stays in blooming state until winter
00:08:54
because here then something else
00:08:56
will bloom then here Hostas will appear
00:08:59
here the crocuses have already bloomed small
00:09:01
kovich
00:09:03
plants now these and these are
00:09:05
mid-spring then the
00:09:08
aquilegia centers will bloom here the centroka is
00:09:12
blooming then the swimsuit will
00:09:15
actually be up to in the winter, there will be something interesting in it,
00:09:17
but in such a spring
00:09:19
state, the spring state depends on the weather.
00:09:22
Because last year the spring was
00:09:24
very compressed, everything
00:09:26
was shooting in a week, and this year, already in the WTO month,
00:09:29
everything is blooming and that is that the primal dialect
00:09:33
can bloom for up to a month, here is the hellebore. It’s been there for
00:09:35
almost a month and a half. It stays like
00:09:38
this in a blooming state Evgeniy Well,
00:09:41
I see at the other end of the flower garden another
00:09:43
spring plant that also greatly
00:09:45
decorates spring flower beds, maybe we’ll
00:09:48
come closer and take a look Let’s go take
00:09:58
a look
00:10:02
[music]
00:10:07
Here is another interesting spring plant,
00:10:09
quite rare in our gardens, this is
00:10:11
Adonis, here are two Adonis Adonis Amur
00:10:16
species and Japanese variety of Adonis Sanda
00:10:20
Zaki, it is more double and in the early
00:10:23
stages of flowering it produces such a green
00:10:25
ring in the garden, it can be
00:10:28
scary because after planting it may not
00:10:32
wake up 2-3 years, that is, this
00:10:34
Amursky slept with us for 3 years And
00:10:36
finally it came out during this time, it has already
00:10:38
grown here, later planted by Sando Zaki in
00:10:42
encyclopedias they write that this is a plant for
00:10:44
advanced lovers, in fact, it
00:10:45
loves such loose soils and partial shade
00:10:48
generally grows in nature, along the slopes of
00:10:51
small ravines of ravines, that is,
00:10:53
he needs to choose some such places
00:10:55
in the second half of summer, he leaves
00:10:57
almost completely, remains, that is, we
00:10:59
need to plant Hostas around us,
00:11:02
which then cover him and he
00:11:05
falls asleep until the next
00:11:07
[music]
00:11:19
spring Well look how many there are, there are a
00:11:22
lot of hazel grouse, lungworts, lilies of the valley
00:11:26
will soon be
00:11:27
blooming here, yeah, martagons
00:11:30
are raising theirs And these are red flowers, are they
00:11:33
red - this is a dicenter Broken
00:11:35
heart is just a small dwarf variety,
00:11:38
how interesting, well, in general, I
00:11:40
meant mountain weeds, I meant in a type of mountain weed
00:11:43
that also came to us from the forest in the
00:11:44
spring garden and which is also very
00:11:47
popular. Tell us a little about
00:11:49
how they grow. Why gardeners love them so much.
00:11:51
Why are they so common? And
00:11:55
now I know that now
00:11:57
lovers of mountain weed plants are really very keen on them - this is
00:12:00
such a recent craze in our gardens;
00:12:03
a lot of
00:12:04
new varieties have come from abroad, in
00:12:07
particular from Japan with
00:12:09
huge flowers, and besides, they are mountain weeds. It’s
00:12:11
interesting, firstly, that they
00:12:13
spread in such large volumes and
00:12:16
produce abundant flowering, that is,
00:12:18
almost like these multi-colored
00:12:19
clouds are produced in a
00:12:22
flower garden and, in addition to flowering, they provide
00:12:25
interesting foliage throughout the summer,
00:12:27
even when they are already decorating the garden with
00:12:30
their foliage. Yes, there are some types of
00:12:35
goryanovo, so they even decorate in winter, that is,
00:12:38
they come out from under the snow already
00:12:42
green or even dark their foliage is
00:12:44
no less decorative than the
00:12:46
foliage of the dick, let’s say, which is considered a
00:12:48
decorative leaf, there are even special
00:12:51
varietal varieties, here are the directions of selection specifically
00:12:53
for the decorativeness of the foliage in the mountains,
00:12:56
they like it so dry, even better than well-dry
00:12:59
partial shade, that is, I would plant them and you do
00:13:02
n’t even have to water them, I practically forgot and
00:13:04
they only make you happy, they make you happy and
00:13:07
make you happy Evgeniy But the hazel grouse are so cute and
00:13:11
different. They are white and the hazel grouse, well, this
00:13:15
is an ordinary chess grouse, this is its
00:13:17
shape, white like any other, bulbous, doesn’t
00:13:20
like a castle and that’s all, but these beautiful ones, I
00:13:25
would even say so small
00:13:26
motorcycle racing
00:13:29
this is also a very popular plant right now this
00:13:31
is a bulbous plant Ray is like this it has
00:13:34
such small bulbs there are a
00:13:37
lot of varieties The only thing is that this
00:13:39
plant is of course for such a thoughtful
00:13:41
Gardener because it, like trillium,
00:13:44
can wait there for a year or two after
00:13:46
planting and not give anything away at all but
00:13:49
then it grows and
00:13:52
reproduces well. They are different. Yes, I see that
00:13:54
they are different in shade; they are different; many varieties;
00:13:57
many species; there is our Siberian
00:14:00
kandyk; there is such a purple
00:14:03
veil; they are presented here now; they are already
00:14:06
assistant professor; assistant professor; Veta; this is
00:14:09
earlier; well, I I also can’t help but pay
00:14:12
attention to
00:14:13
Lungwort, a plant we all know,
00:14:15
also from the forest, but with small leaves
00:14:18
with red flowers. Well, the leaves are
00:14:20
small because it just comes out,
00:14:22
then they will be big lungworts - this is a
00:14:24
leaf, an ornamental plant; of course,
00:14:26
varieties are bred based on the beauty of the leaf. Well,
00:14:30
they experiment with flowers in particular
00:14:32
like Krasnova They are usually blue Yes, but we
00:14:34
probably see it and this is very
00:14:37
similar to a violet This is a violet It is so
00:14:39
pale lilac
00:14:42
that it is practically white This is one of the types of
00:14:44
violets Yes, it is so almost white
00:14:47
very soon it will be warm We are all
00:14:49
already expecting this and I think that this
00:14:52
picture literally within probably
00:14:54
a week, maybe even a little more, it
00:14:56
seems to me that it will change radically,
00:14:58
I just want to note that we have had a
00:15:01
rare opportunity to see such an
00:15:03
early Spring flower garden in its entirety beautiful and
00:15:05
Very soon literally in a week
00:15:07
Well maybe in 10 days it will be replaced by
00:15:09
completely different colors of peonies of aquilegia
00:15:11
irises that begin to bloom in
00:15:13
late
00:15:14
[music]
00:15:23
[music]
00:15:27
in the spring
00:15:31
[music]
00:15:44
Evgeniy Well, also I sort of took this
00:15:46
for dessert I saw you have such a
00:15:47
wonderful collection of hellebores and We
00:15:49
managed to see them in all their glory Right
00:15:52
now, too, the plant may be new
00:15:55
to our gardens but very, very
00:15:56
popular, show them to us Let’s go
00:15:59
see this a little further
00:16:04
[music]
00:16:07
further Well, here is such a beautiful border of
00:16:09
hellebores that I’m talking about said yes
00:16:12
Evgeniy Well, let's start from the very beginning Why are
00:16:14
they called hellebores Why are these
00:16:16
such beautiful flowers that do not
00:16:17
cause any association with cold weather
00:16:19
called hellebores Well, they
00:16:21
are called hellebores because they bloom right
00:16:23
immediately after frosts, that is, they
00:16:26
open some, even standing in the snow,
00:16:31
separate species certain varieties of
00:16:33
black hellebore in the west and even here
00:16:35
they bloom right in December. That is, here they
00:16:37
begin to bloom right in November; some
00:16:40
varieties of black hellebore, the rest in the spring,
00:16:43
well, tell us why you love it, I
00:16:45
see you have a lot of
00:16:47
plants and varieties themselves there are many reasons why you
00:16:49
love it Well, hellebore is a unique
00:16:52
primrose. That is, it also exists in double, non-double,
00:16:54
dark
00:16:57
white varieties; in the landscape, it’s quite a
00:17:00
powerful bush; it turns out to be voluminous.
00:17:02
That is, it works with leaves and
00:17:04
blooms quite early. And what can I say
00:17:06
enough? Well, it’s rare in primroses
00:17:09
it blooms for a long time, that is, a
00:17:11
hellebore bush. That is, it is in bloom, as
00:17:13
if in this state, it arrives for a month,
00:17:16
but then it does not shed the flower, it
00:17:17
just turns green. That is, maybe
00:17:20
its flowering Yes, it
00:17:21
continues, you can say, about a month and a
00:17:24
half and two and then then these
00:17:27
flowers are simply hidden under the Thieves new foliage
00:17:30
Well, in general, I want to say now it’s difficult to
00:17:32
talk about it because they are still
00:17:33
just blooming, but even this green
00:17:35
flower, which is preserved, is
00:17:37
also very interesting, too. Yes, the
00:17:40
Japanese who grow special
00:17:41
plants for green flowers, I think they
00:17:44
would be very happy Evgeniy But I see a
00:17:47
hellebore with such unusual leaves, let’s take a
00:17:49
closer look at it, yes, let’s come to
00:17:51
those And here are hellebores from the so-
00:17:55
called CH series of varieties, usually a series
00:17:59
of varieties, they seem to include varieties of the
00:18:02
same species But this series includes
00:18:04
hellebores of different types That is, this is it with
00:18:06
wide leaves this is the Eastern hellebore
00:18:09
And this is the hellebore rts species That's why it has
00:18:13
such narrower leaves, that is, you get the
00:18:15
feeling that each leaf of an
00:18:17
ordinary hellebore is cut into two more
00:18:18
Yes yes yes this is just a different type of
00:18:21
hellebore and from it the variety that is
00:18:23
included in the general series of
00:18:25
varieties CH, here are several varieties there
00:18:27
Spring Dream with
00:18:29
solid springs Well, they also have one thing to
00:18:33
say that I personally
00:18:35
really like their color scheme I would
00:18:38
say this palette because that’s how
00:18:40
they have it such an aristocratic
00:18:41
noble color, slightly as if
00:18:43
dusty,
00:18:52
quite a rich range and a flower from
00:18:55
simple Yes, it can be very double Yeah
00:18:58
Yeah, the only thing I can say about the hellebore is that it
00:19:02
may be an inconvenience: it first
00:19:03
produces flowers, lifts them Up and
00:19:06
then lowers them down, so it’s convenient to
00:19:08
plant them on such a small hill that
00:19:10
when you are coming from below, the
00:19:13
beauty of the flower
00:19:15
[music] is fully revealed
00:19:32
[music]
00:19:39
and here’s another one Let’s come closer too
00:19:41
And these are very beautiful
00:19:43
pink ones, even green-pink
00:19:52
and so orch they have Evgeniy Well, you know,
00:19:56
I can from my own experience to say that
00:19:58
Personally, I have hellebores. I haven’t been able to
00:20:00
grow them because I suspect that
00:20:02
I have sandy soil. I have a lot of
00:20:04
sun and apparently the climate is not suitable for them.
00:20:06
I may have one or two hellebores,
00:20:08
but now
00:20:10
some not very complex ones are living and blooming. how
00:20:12
to grow them Is it correct or am I making
00:20:14
some kind of mistake No, hellebores are just how
00:20:17
they basically grow for everyone, you need to
00:20:20
initially take fairly good planting
00:20:22
material, that is, you just need to
00:20:24
buy more, plant more, maybe
00:20:26
from different sources, you
00:20:28
definitely have some will remain Well, the most
00:20:30
indestructible ones are, of course, varieties of
00:20:32
Eastern hellebore because these are our
00:20:34
Caucasian species and
00:20:37
Abkhazian hellebore should also start with them;
00:20:40
it loves such, say, moist but
00:20:44
not stagnant soil, light partial shade. That is,
00:20:46
you can see how they are made here
00:20:49
in those in the shade lilac chibukovs Yes, in the spring
00:20:51
when they bloom, the branches are bare They
00:20:55
receive almost full sun Uh-huh
00:20:58
When it’s already here, this is our Hot
00:21:01
summer They accept mulching with the blossoming foliage
00:21:05
Well, you see here too Yes,
00:21:07
not all of them grow equally well,
00:21:08
some are better, some are better there are different
00:21:11
varieties, take different types and over time
00:21:14
you will have some left over. Well, I probably
00:21:16
will definitely try it because I
00:21:18
really love these plants. I like
00:21:20
them both in shape and color and the fact that they are
00:21:21
still the very first and still very
00:21:23
unusual and I want to note that hellebore
00:21:27
as part of landscape design. Here
00:21:29
we see not just a flower bed of flowers,
00:21:32
here a border is made from hellebore
00:21:34
that decorates this path;
00:21:36
we see exactly the same border on this side of
00:21:39
the path, only it is made from peonies
00:21:42
and now when peonies do not bloom,
00:21:44
it is clear that their foliage, their bushes are a
00:21:49
self-sufficient decorative element
00:21:51
because here we see peonies of different
00:21:53
shades of different shapes of leaves and even
00:21:56
without flowers they look very interesting
00:22:00
[music]
00:22:08
it is impossible to imagine our life
00:22:10
without tulips and daffodils And now
00:22:12
without
00:22:15
Goryanovsky
00:22:18
