00:01:04
The spirit of revolution soared over the Russian land.
00:01:07
A tremendous, mysterious process was taking place in countless hearts.
00:01:11
The individual personality, having hardly had time to become conscious of itself...
00:01:16
dissolved in the mass, and the mass itself became dissolved in the revolutionary élan.
00:01:28
Sailors Matyushenko and Vakulinchuk.
00:01:31
We, the sailors of Potemkin, must support the workers, our brothers...
00:01:38
and stand among the front lines of the revolution!
00:01:49
Heavy and gloomy is the sleep of the off duty.
00:02:41
Attentive, but clumsy.
00:02:45
He vents his anger on a young man.
00:03:09
Hurtful...
00:03:18
Vakulinchuk
00:03:23
Comrades! The time has come when we too must speak out.
00:03:37
Why wait? All of Russia has risen! Are we to be the last?
00:04:01
Morning.
00:05:08
We've had enough rotten meat!
00:05:16
Even a dog wouldn't eat this!
00:05:37
The ship doctor Smirnov.
00:05:44
It could crawl overboard on its own!
00:06:07
These aren't worms.
00:06:16
They are dead fly larvae. You can wash them off with brine!
00:06:31
Russian prisoners in Japan are fed better than we are!
00:06:38
We've had enough rotten meat!
00:06:58
It's good meat. End of discussion!
00:07:39
Senior Officer Giliarovsky
00:09:40
Impotent rage was overflowing.
00:10:56
The ship's store.
00:11:29
The sailors refused to eat the borscht.
00:13:35
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD
00:13:52
Part two. "DRAMA ON THE DECK."
00:14:31
Commander Golikov
00:15:03
Whoever is satisfied with the borscht
00:15:08
take two steps forward!
00:15:13
The petty officers.
00:15:32
Step aside!
00:15:39
The rest will hang from the yardarm!
00:16:23
Call the guards!
00:16:34
Matyushenko, under the guise of breaking ranks, calls the sailors to the gun turret.
00:16:51
To the turret...
00:16:57
To the turret!
00:17:01
To the turret...
00:17:36
Guys!...
00:17:38
It's time.
00:17:53
Most of them gathered by the turret.
00:18:14
Stop! Don't move!
00:18:35
They try to sneak through the admiral's hatch.
00:18:44
Back, scoundrels! That way is not for you!
00:18:59
I'll shoot you all like dogs!
00:19:14
Cover them with canvas!
00:19:17
Got it!
00:20:05
Cover them!
00:20:27
Attention!
00:20:59
Dear Lord! Make the disobedient see reason!
00:21:09
Fire right into the canvas!
00:22:02
Vakulinchuk decides.
00:22:06
Fire!
00:22:07
BROTHERS!
00:22:09
Who are you shooting at?!
00:22:13
The rifles quavered.
00:22:18
Shoot!
00:22:22
Everyone shoot!
00:22:28
Shoot, scum!
00:22:41
To the rifles, brothers!
00:22:48
Kill the beasts! Kill 'em!
00:22:52
Kill 'em all!
00:24:20
Have fear of God!
00:24:29
Beat it, sorcerer!
00:27:11
To the bottom to feed the worms!
00:27:24
Brothers! We've won!
00:27:37
The bleeding Vakulinchuk flees from the furious Giliarovsky.
00:28:21
Vakulinchuk's overboard!
00:28:38
Save Vakulinchuk!
00:29:18
And he who was first to sound the cry of rebellion was first to fall at the executioner's hand.
00:29:45
To the shore.
00:30:10
Odessa.
00:30:17
A tent on the new pier in Odessa is the final resting place for Vakulinchuk.
00:30:23
FOR A SPOONFUL OF BORSCHT
00:31:09
Part three. "THE DEAD MAN CALLS OUT."
00:31:16
Mist lingered on from the night...
00:32:38
Rumours came from the pier.
00:34:07
Together with the sun, the news hit the city.
00:34:22
The battleship raided...
00:34:30
...rebellion...
00:34:44
...shore...
00:34:52
A killed sailor...
00:36:21
We'll remember.
00:36:32
All for a spoonful of borscht.
00:36:39
"Citizens of Odessa! Lying before you is the body of the brutally killed sailor Grigory Vakulinchuk...
00:36:43
killed by a senior officer of the squadron battleship Prince Tavrichesky.
00:36:47
Let's take revenge on the bloodthirsty vampires! Death to the oppressors!
00:36:50
Signed: Crew of the squadron battleship Prince Tavrichesky."
00:37:25
Eternal memory to the fallen fighters!
00:37:32
All for one.
00:37:40
One
00:37:43
for all.
00:38:29
Down with the executioners!
00:38:50
Down with tyranny!
00:39:12
Mothers and brothers! Let there not be differences or hostility among us!
00:39:22
Beat the Yids!
00:40:04
Shoulder to shoulder.
00:40:09
The land is ours.
00:40:17
Tomorrow is ours.
00:40:46
A delegate from shore.
00:40:52
The enemy must be dealt a decisive blow!
00:40:58
Together with the rebelling workers from all of Russia
00:41:06
WE WILL WIN!
00:41:21
The shore watched Potemkin tensely and attentively.
00:42:01
Part four. "THE ODESSA STAIRCASE."
00:42:06
In those memorable days, the city lived together with the rebellious battleship.
00:42:15
Like a white-winged flock, boats flew to the battleship.
00:46:14
AND SUDDENLY
00:48:37
Let's go! Let's convince them!
00:49:33
Listen! Don't shoot!
00:49:52
My boy is badly hurt.
00:50:11
COSSACKS!
00:52:20
And then the brutality of the military authorities in Odessa was answered with the battleship's shells.
00:52:28
The target— the Odessa theater.
00:52:32
The generals' headquarters.
00:52:52
Part five. "RENDEZVOUS WITH THE SQUADRON."
00:52:56
Turbulent meetings went on until evening.
00:53:07
The people of Odessa are waiting for the liberators! Land the troops and the army will join you.
00:53:35
Landing is not possible. The admiral's squadron is coming our way.
00:54:07
With one heart, they decided to face the squadron.
00:54:19
Night came, full of anxiety.
00:55:30
The squadron was sneaking up in the darkness.
00:56:22
Sore from constant speech, throats breathe heavily and unevenly.
00:58:12
Squadron on the horizon!
00:59:26
All hands on deck!
00:59:35
Prepare for battle!
01:01:28
Full speed!
01:02:43
Hearts forward!
01:03:23
Top speed!
01:03:41
Potemkin and destroyer No. 267.
01:03:47
The admiral attacks!
01:04:06
The squadron draws near!
01:04:46
Give the signal: join us!
01:04:54
Join!...
01:04:58
...us!
01:05:17
The enemy is within firing range!
01:05:30
All against one.
01:05:53
ONE AGAINST ALL.
01:06:20
Shoot?...
01:06:27
or...
01:06:38
BROTHERS!
01:07:09
Above the heads of the tsar's admirals thundered a brotherly hurrah.
01:07:21
And proudly waving the red flag of victory, without a single shot, the rebellious battleship passed through the rows of the squadron.
