00:00:01
welcome back to a brand new video today
00:00:03
I'm going to be going over five quick
00:00:05
easy effects to add to your clips just
00:00:07
give them that bit more impact in your
00:00:09
edits using Adobe After Effects you can
00:00:11
also do the same thing in Premiere Pro
00:00:13
as well as other editing software's the
00:00:15
techniques are exactly the same just the
00:00:17
names of the effects might be slightly
00:00:18
different just before we get started I'd
00:00:20
like to serve made several other
00:00:21
tutorials or revolving around butter up
00:00:23
montages and edits but you can also be
00:00:24
used for any game of that csgo fortnight
00:00:27
rainbow whatever so make sure you check
00:00:29
them out with the link in the top right
00:00:30
corner right now as the end card in this
00:00:32
video and also in the description do
00:00:34
that any further do let's get into this
00:00:35
the first effect is gonna be a simple
00:00:37
scale something like a scale lends
00:00:39
itself really well to be combined with
00:00:41
other effects and you'll find that's the
00:00:42
case with many of these effects if you
00:00:44
layer them on top of each other and use
00:00:45
them together you can create a really
00:00:47
cool effect where you have it scale up
00:00:49
it flashes and blurs at the same time
00:00:51
and it makes the kills hit a lot harder
00:00:53
then if you were to just add one or the
00:00:56
other of course you know it's completely
00:00:57
up to you and your personal preference
00:00:58
but I use a lot of these in conjunction
00:01:00
with each other for the majority of my
00:01:02
edits so with the scale where you're
00:01:03
going to want to do is go through your
00:01:04
clip and find the point where you get
00:01:06
the kill now with rifles and SMGs and
00:01:08
pistols and things like that you're
00:01:09
going to want to wait until you see the
00:01:11
kill appear in the top right corner so
00:01:14
I'm going to keep scrubbing through this
00:01:15
clip frame by frame until I see the kill
00:01:17
up here in the top right which is right
00:01:18
here
00:01:19
and I'm gonna go back to the exact frame
00:01:20
where I get that kill so that's right
00:01:23
here now I'm gonna press the asterisk or
00:01:25
the star on my numpad and that's gonna
00:01:26
add a marker to my clip so I know
00:01:27
exactly where that killers now where you
00:01:30
put the markers is gonna be slightly
00:01:31
different depending on what gun you're
00:01:32
using so if you're using a sniper rifle
00:01:33
you're gonna be changing where this
00:01:35
marker goes and I'll explain that when I
00:01:37
get to my final effect which is called
00:01:39
optics compensation and that's what I
00:01:40
would use for sniper rifles now once
00:01:42
you've found where your kill is you're
00:01:45
then gonna want to come down over to
00:01:47
your clip hit the down arrow hit
00:01:48
transform and you'll see scale or you
00:01:51
can just press S on your keyboard and or
00:01:52
bring up the scale options now what
00:01:54
you're gonna want to do is make sure
00:01:55
that your current time indicator is on
00:01:56
the marker itself where you get the kill
00:01:58
now you're going to decide how scaled in
00:02:00
it's gonna be at its maximum so for me
00:02:03
that's gonna be about 115 which is
00:02:05
around here you can go to 120 and go to
00:02:07
130 you could just go in by 5% if you
00:02:09
want to it's really up to you it's just
00:02:11
going to control how intensity of
00:02:13
so I want it to zoom into 115 percent
00:02:16
and then bounce back after I get the
00:02:18
kill so now it said it's map so you're
00:02:20
gonna see that it's 115 throughout the
00:02:22
entire clip which is not what we want so
00:02:24
I'm gonna make sure I'm back on that
00:02:25
marker where I get the kill I'm going to
00:02:27
click this little stopwatch next to
00:02:28
scale and that's gonna add a keyframe so
00:02:30
that now at this frame where this
00:02:32
keyframe is it's always going to be 115
00:02:34
regardless of what we do to the rest of
00:02:35
the clip so if I now go back one frame
00:02:37
and I change this back to 100 you'll see
00:02:40
before this keyframe where I set it to
00:02:42
100 it's going to be a hundred and then
00:02:44
after the key from 115 it's not gonna be
00:02:46
115 now this is a bit abrupt it just
00:02:49
sort of bounces in as soon as you get
00:02:50
the kill which is kind of what you want
00:02:51
but then on the way back out you want it
00:02:53
to be a bit slower so I'm gonna go
00:02:54
forward about 20 or so frame something
00:02:56
like that and I'm just gonna key frame
00:02:58
it straight back to 100 and you'll
00:03:00
notice the in between these two frames
00:03:01
it's gonna scale out slowly so if I play
00:03:04
this for you as you can see it does this
00:03:08
sort of scale effect as I get the kill
00:03:09
so it just bounces off when as she dies
00:03:13
just like that now if I wanted to
00:03:15
increase that because maybe that's not
00:03:16
enough I can change it to 120 later on
00:03:18
and then that will update so long as I
00:03:20
make sure I apply the effect on the
00:03:22
keyframe that I had set to 115 before it
00:03:24
allows them in even further which you
00:03:28
can see just adds a little bit more
00:03:29
bounce to it if you want it to animate
00:03:31
in as well as out you can always drag
00:03:33
this keyframe out a little bit and
00:03:34
you'll see now it was oom in and bounced
00:03:36
off of when I get the kill now that's a
00:03:41
bit too slow for my liking but I'm just
00:03:42
going to drag these a little bit closer
00:03:44
and do something like that and we'll see
00:03:46
how that looks
00:03:48
so you see it now bounces in as soon as
00:03:51
you get the kill I prefer to have mine
00:03:53
like this when it scales in straight
00:03:56
away without any animation to begin with
00:03:58
and then slows down afterwards as I just
00:04:02
think that looks a bit better of course
00:04:03
you can control how intent 6 K Lin you
00:04:05
can drag this final keyframe back
00:04:07
further and that means it will come out
00:04:08
it will zoom back out slower but it's
00:04:10
really up to you and this really lends
00:04:12
itself well with adding flashes and
00:04:14
blurs as well so if you were to add a
00:04:16
flash and blur to this it would just
00:04:18
make the effect hit a lot harder as this
00:04:20
on its own is kind of weak now on to our
00:04:22
next effect is the flash so you're gonna
00:04:24
have a key you can have a marker exactly
00:04:26
where you get that kill again and then
00:04:27
you cover to effects and presets you can
00:04:29
apply brightness and you'll see
00:04:31
brightness and contrast and you're gonna
00:04:32
drag that onto the clip they're gonna
00:04:34
hit this down arrow come down to effects
00:04:35
and you'll see brightness and contrast
00:04:36
and you're just gonna on the frame where
00:04:39
you get the kill which is gonna be on
00:04:41
your marker you're gonna drag the
00:04:42
brightness up to a point that you think
00:04:44
is acceptable so I'm gonna go to 75 and
00:04:47
I'm gonna hit the stopwatch to keyframe
00:04:48
it go back one frame just like we do a
00:04:50
bit the scale and drop it to zero and
00:04:53
you'll see it all now automatically add
00:04:54
a keyframe perhaps I get the kill bang
00:04:56
it will flash gonna go forward about 20
00:04:57
frames just like I would with the with
00:04:59
the scale and I'm gonna put it back down
00:05:01
to zero and you'll see now if I play the
00:05:03
clip you'll see it'll get the kill flash
00:05:05
and then go back to normal as you can
00:05:09
see that's just a simple effect which
00:05:11
again lends itself really well to being
00:05:13
mixed with a scale and a blur which once
00:05:15
I've done those three I'll show you what
00:05:17
that looks like when you combine them
00:05:18
all together and now on to our next
00:05:20
effect which is a blur so again I'm
00:05:22
gonna do the exact same thing when you
00:05:23
put a marker on where you get to kill
00:05:24
which is right here and you're gonna
00:05:26
come over to the effects and presets and
00:05:28
you're gonna search full gorsh and blur
00:05:30
which you can see right here blow and
00:05:31
trap and Gorge and blur and they're
00:05:33
gonna drag that straight onto your clip
00:05:34
you can hit the down arrow just like you
00:05:36
did with the other ones
00:05:37
down to effects down to gorge and blur
00:05:39
and on this marker you're gonna choose
00:05:41
how blurred you want it to be by
00:05:42
dragging up this little blurriness
00:05:44
option so I'm gonna drag it up to about
00:05:45
something like 10 I think looks good
00:05:47
we'll go for 10 and I'm gonna hit the
00:05:49
stopwatch to keyframe it go back one
00:05:51
frame set the blurriness to zero and
00:05:53
you'll see before this keyframe it is
00:05:55
not blurred at all after it's blurred go
00:05:57
forward about 20 frames or so so
00:05:59
like that and I'm gonna set the bonus to
00:06:01
zero and now if we watch this you can
00:06:05
see it's a very subtle whether you pick
00:06:07
that up on video or not I'm not too sure
00:06:09
you just change it to full and zoom in
00:06:10
so you can sort of see what effect it's
00:06:12
having you see it's just a really subtle
00:06:16
as you get the kill it just blurs and
00:06:17
this works really well with a scale and
00:06:19
a flash so I'm going to quickly add
00:06:20
these three effects together and show
00:06:22
you what that looks like when you add it
00:06:24
with this flash and scale as you can see
00:06:27
I've just added the gorge on blur and
00:06:28
the brightness and contrast and all the
00:06:30
keyframes are lined up exactly as we had
00:06:32
them before I did actually have the
00:06:33
skill not last quite as long so I think
00:06:35
we'll just track that up and now as you
00:06:36
can see there albeit they're all at zero
00:06:39
until they hit this keyframe where it
00:06:41
will scale in the brightness will go up
00:06:43
and it will also be low so you know if
00:06:45
we watch this through you can see that
00:06:49
just hits a lot harder and they work
00:06:50
much better when they're all put
00:06:52
together so as it comes in bang it hits
00:06:54
scales blurs and flashes and then it
00:06:58
zooms back out again and goes back to
00:06:59
normal until you get the next kill now
00:07:01
onto our next effect which is
00:07:02
slow-motion so you'll see in lots of
00:07:04
montages after they get a kill it will
00:07:06
go into slow motion for a short amount
00:07:07
of time again this also works if you add
00:07:09
the blurs the flash and the scales with
00:07:11
it however you'll have to adjust the
00:07:12
length of how long those blows flashes
00:07:14
and scales last depending on how much
00:07:15
you slow the clip down by so in order to
00:07:18
slow down the clip we're going to be
00:07:19
using something called time stretch in
00:07:21
After Effects which is gonna be pretty
00:07:23
similar to as to how you do it in
00:07:25
Premiere Pro Vegas DaVinci Resolve
00:07:27
things like that we're essentially just
00:07:28
lowering the frame rate of the clip to
00:07:30
the point where it's laid back slightly
00:07:31
slower this isn't the smoothest way to
00:07:33
transition but between normal speed and
00:07:35
slow motion however this is by far the
00:07:37
simplest way and for beginners it's the
00:07:39
best way you can do it if you want a
00:07:41
more in-depth tutorial on how to how to
00:07:43
time remap and go between fast motion
00:07:45
slow motion and sync two beats and
00:07:46
things like that then make sure you
00:07:47
check out the tutorial links in the top
00:07:49
right corner right now which is my
00:07:50
tutorial on time remapping it will also
00:07:52
be in my tutorials playlist linked at
00:07:53
the end of the video as well as in the
00:07:55
description and that will teach you how
00:07:56
to sync your kills with beats how to
00:07:59
speed up and slow down smoothly and
00:08:01
other things like that so for this what
00:08:02
we're gonna do is go to the marker which
00:08:04
is exactly on the kill again we're gonna
00:08:05
press ctrl shift key to split
00:08:07
and we're gonna go to the point we want
00:08:08
some emotion to end so I'm going to have
00:08:10
it when I look down to the left like I
00:08:12
did with all the other ones I'm going to
00:08:13
press ctrl shift D and then on this
00:08:15
little clip in the middle which you can
00:08:17
see is the part which I want to be
00:08:18
slowed I'm gonna right-click go to time
00:08:20
time stretch and it's gonna bring up
00:08:22
this window now 100 is normal speed 200
00:08:26
is half speed so it's going to last
00:08:28
twice as long hence why it's 200 so 100
00:08:30
is 26 milliseconds which is how long
00:08:32
just how long this little clip lasts and
00:08:34
if I was to put this to 200 it's going
00:08:36
to double it to 52 if I want to speed up
00:08:39
I can go down to 50 and that's it I'm
00:08:40
gonna play back at twice the speed so
00:08:43
basically just adjust this to the point
00:08:44
where you're happy so if a hundred speed
00:08:46
is normal and I want to slow this clip
00:08:48
down I'm gonna go to something like 200
00:08:50
which we play it back at half speed so
00:08:52
two times slow motion however I'm gonna
00:08:54
put it at something like 150 so it's
00:08:57
just gonna be slightly slower rather
00:08:58
than half the speed and then if you hit
00:09:00
OK you'll see the length of your click
00:09:02
will increase so you're just gonna drag
00:09:03
the top clip to meet the end of it and
00:09:05
if we play this through you can see it
00:09:10
goes into slow motion slightly during
00:09:12
this part I can over exaggerate it just
00:09:13
for the sake of the video or go to time
00:09:15
stretch and I'll change this to 200 and
00:09:17
drag this across just so that it comes
00:09:19
across a bit clearer and that just adds
00:09:24
a little extra something it does slow
00:09:26
down your audio which you may not want
00:09:27
so you can disable deal with you by
00:09:29
clicking over here and I normally
00:09:31
disable all of my audio and then I just
00:09:33
use my sound effects pack which you can
00:09:34
download by clicking the link in the top
00:09:36
right corner it's also in my editing
00:09:37
packs playlist which will be links and
00:09:39
description and I'll have all the gun
00:09:40
sound effects all the voice lines
00:09:42
everything like that so you can add them
00:09:43
back after the fact so for this I just
00:09:45
add the gun sounds back at normal speed
00:09:47
so it doesn't sound messed up like it
00:09:50
was if we slowed it down and for our
00:09:51
final effect is called optics
00:09:53
compensation which is another effect
00:09:55
just like all of the others which comes
00:09:56
built in with After Effects no plugins
00:09:57
required and we're gonna go to the point
00:09:59
where I get to kill however when you're
00:10:01
using a sniper rifle you want to have it
00:10:03
to the point where it snaps out of the
00:10:04
scope so with the other guns we were
00:10:06
just inking it to the point where the
00:10:08
kill appears in the kill feed whereas
00:10:10
with sniper rifles you're gonna want to
00:10:11
change it to the point where it snaps
00:10:13
throughout the scope so the frame off
00:10:15
where I come out the scope which is this
00:10:16
one you'll see the muzzle flash happens
00:10:18
and this is where I want to put my
00:10:19
marker
00:10:20
press the asterisk on my numpad and
00:10:22
there you go I've added the marker now
00:10:23
to add the effect come over to effects &
00:10:25
presets search pop --tx optics
00:10:27
compensation you're gonna drag down on
00:10:28
and just like with the other effects it
00:10:30
lends itself really well to be added
00:10:32
with them you just add the scales the
00:10:34
flashes and the blurs onto the clip just
00:10:36
like you would with the other ones
00:10:37
I'm however the optics compensation I
00:10:39
use this before I get the kill where as
00:10:41
with all of the other effects I use them
00:10:43
afterwards and I'll show you what I mean
00:10:44
by that so now that I've dragged up
00:10:45
these compensation onto my clip and hit
00:10:47
the down arrow go down to effect and
00:10:48
you'll see it down here and now I'm
00:10:50
gonna go back and now on this keyframe
00:10:51
where I come out of the clip I'm just
00:10:53
gonna hit the stopwatch and you'll see
00:10:55
field of view set to zero I'm gonna go
00:10:57
back one frame I'm gonna drag this up to
00:10:59
a point where I'm happy so as you drag
00:11:01
it you'll see that it does this sort of
00:11:03
bevel in effect and that's kind of cool
00:11:05
if you want to create the sort of scope
00:11:06
effect like that which you can do what I
00:11:08
have used in montages in the past
00:11:09
however what I tend to do is tick where
00:11:11
it says reverse distortion and it does
00:11:13
this sort of effect where it seems out
00:11:15
and then in you seem like this I'm gonna
00:11:17
drag it to the maximum that I want it to
00:11:19
be at just before it comes out so I'm
00:11:20
gonna drag it to about this point and
00:11:22
I'm gonna go back to the point where I
00:11:24
come into the scope now depending on how
00:11:26
long you're in the scope for will depend
00:11:28
on how far you drag this back in this
00:11:29
clip I pretty much go straight into the
00:11:31
scope leave my crosshair to the Rays
00:11:32
shoot and that's it so I'm not in the
00:11:34
script for very long however if you're
00:11:36
in the scope for a while you may not
00:11:37
want to add this effect straightaway so
00:11:39
I'm gonna have it to the point where I
00:11:40
go straight to the scope which is there
00:11:41
and I'm gonna keyframe this field of
00:11:43
view back to zero and you'll see as I'm
00:11:46
scoped in it's gonna animate in to the
00:11:48
point where I get the kill it's gonna
00:11:49
snap out just like that so if I play
00:11:51
this
00:11:54
you see it come it goes in and pops out
00:11:59
just as you get the kill and then what I
00:12:01
do is come across to you here and you
00:12:04
can add the gore and blood whites and
00:12:05
contrast and scale I didn't bother with
00:12:06
the scale but you know you could add
00:12:08
that as well as a sphere motion if you
00:12:09
wanted to you can see it just zooms in
00:12:14
pops out flashes and blurs and I think
00:12:18
that looks great so that's pretty much it for this
00:12:19
tutorial just going over five quick easy
00:12:22
effects that you can do for free in
00:12:24
After Effects no plugins required
00:12:25
nothing like that just to add a little
00:12:27
bit of extra flare to your edits and
00:12:29
montages if you did enjoy you'll find
00:12:30
this video useful please make sure that
