In the name of God, the Most

Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, who created the heavens

00:00:11

and the earth and made darkness

00:00:17

and light. Then those who disbelieve in their Lord

00:00:23

act justly. It is He who

00:00:26

created you from clay, then

00:00:31

decreed

00:00:33

a term

00:00:35

and a term appointed with Him. Then you

00:00:43

dispute. And He is God in the heavens and in the earth. He

00:00:48

knows your secrets and your secrets, and He knows what

00:00:54

you earn and what signs

00:00:56

come to them. Their

00:00:58

Lord, except that they turned away from it. They have

00:01:06

denied the truth when

00:01:11

it came to them. Then there will come to them

00:01:16

news of what they used to

00:01:21

mock. Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them

00:01:30

in the

00:01:33

land. We established them

00:01:35

in the land unless We established for you. And We sent

00:01:41

the heaven upon them in

00:01:45

abundance and made the rivers flow beneath them. So We destroyed

00:01:51

them for

00:01:54

their sins. So We destroyed them for their

00:01:57

sins, even if We pleased. After them

00:02:06

another generation, and if We had sent down to you a book on

00:02:12

paper and they had touched it

00:02:14

with their hands, those who

00:02:17

disbelieved would have said, “This is nothing but

00:02:27

clear magic.” And they had said, “If only an angel had been sent down to him, and if

00:02:35

We had sent down a king, the matter would have been settled.” Then

00:02:42

they would not look. If we had made him an angel, We would have made him a man

00:02:48

and had clothed

00:02:50

them in what

00:02:53

they wear. And

00:02:57

Messengers from before were mocked. Then it joined those who mocked

00:03:03

them, so it joined those who mocked

00:03:08

them. That is what they were mocking.

00:03:12

Say, “Walk through the earth and then see what

00:03:19

was the end of the

00:03:22

deniers.” Say, “Whoever is in the heavens and the earth.” Say, “To

00:03:28

God, He

00:03:30

has decreed mercy upon Himself, that He may gather you together

00:03:35

until the Day of Resurrection. There is no doubt

00:03:41

about Him. Those who

00:03:44

have lost

00:03:45

their souls, so they do not

00:03:49

believe, and to Him is what dwells.” At night

00:03:54

and day, He is the All-Hearing, the All-

00:03:58

Knowing. Say, “Is there anyone other than God who has taken a guardian, the Creator of the

00:04:05

heavens and the earth?” He

00:04:07

created the heavens and the earth, and He feeds and does not feed.

00:04:15

Say, “

00:04:18

I have been commanded to be the first to convert to Islam, and do not

00:04:24

be of

00:04:28

the polytheists.” Say, “

00:04:31

I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a

00:04:37

great day. Whoever turns away from it that

00:04:41

day will have mercy on him.” And that is victory. And

00:04:47

if God touches you with harm, there is no one to remove it

00:04:55

except Him. And if it touches

00:05:00

good, then He has power over all things,

00:05:05

and He is the Conqueror above His servants, and He is the All-Wise, the All-

00:05:13

Aware. Say, “What thing is the greatest

00:05:17

witness?” Say, “God is a witness between me and you. And

00:05:23

this Qur’an was revealed to me, so that

00:05:30

I may warn you with it, and whoever

00:05:34

reaches it,

00:05:36

you must

00:05:38

bear witness that it is with God.”

00:05:43

Other gods. Say, “I do not

00:05:47

bear witness.” Say, “Indeed,

00:05:49

He is only one God,

00:05:55

and I am

00:05:57

innocent of what

00:06:03

you associate with those to whom

00:06:06

We have given the Book. They

00:06:09

recognize it as they recognize their own

00:06:15

children. They have

00:06:18

lost their

00:06:19

own souls, so they do not

00:06:24

believe. And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against God

00:06:31

or denies His

00:06:34

signs? Indeed,

00:06:41

the wrongdoers will not succeed [music]. And on the day We will gather them

00:06:45

all together. Then we will say.” To those who

00:06:51

associate polytheists. Then we say to those who associate others.

00:06:57

Where are

00:07:00

your partners whom you were

00:07:05

claiming? Then their trial was only that they said, “

00:07:14

By God, our Lord. By God, our Lord. We were

00:07:15

not

00:07:23

polytheists. See how they lied about an arrow. And

00:07:31

what they were inventing went astray from them. And

00:07:37

among them are some who listen

00:07:40

to you. We have placed a cover on their hearts

00:07:46

lest they should understand.” It is in their ears. And they

00:07:53

read, and if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them

00:08:01

until, when they

00:08:03

come

00:08:05

to you, they argue with you. Those who disbelieve say, “

00:08:11

This is it.” Those who disbelieve say, “This is nothing

00:08:17

but

00:08:20

legends of the

00:08:24

ancients,” and they forbid it and turn away from it. And they will destroy

00:08:33

only

00:08:35

themselves, but they will not perceive it.

00:08:39

Even if you could see, when they stood over the Fire, they said, “Oh,

00:08:46

we wish we could be refuted and not deny the signs of our Lord.” And we will be

00:08:53

among

00:08:57

the believers. Nay, what they had concealed before will become apparent to them.

00:09:04

And if they were turned back, they would turn back to denying it. And they are certainly

00:09:43

liars. They will say, “It is only our life of this world, and we will not be resurrected.” And if only you could see, when they stood before their Lord, He said, “Isn’t this the truth?” They said, “Yes, by our Lord.” He said, “So taste the torment because you disbelieved. Those who disbelieved have lost.”

By meeting God,

00:09:50

until, when

00:09:52

the Hour came to them

00:09:55

suddenly,

00:09:58

they said, “Oh, what a pity we are for what we neglected in it,”

00:10:04

while they carry their burdens on

00:10:09

their backs. Indeed, what they are doing is worse. And

00:10:15

the life of

00:10:18

this world is nothing but play

00:10:22

and amusement, nor is the home of the Hereafter better for those who fear. So will you not understand?

00:10:32

Perhaps we know

00:10:35

that what they say will grieve you, for they will

00:10:41

not

00:10:43

deny you,

00:10:45

but the wrongdoers are with signs.

00:10:52

They deny God, and

00:10:55

Messengers before you were denied, but they were patient in what they were denied and were harmed

00:11:03

until Our help came to them,

00:11:08

until Our help came to them, and there is no changing the words of God.

00:11:15

And indeed the

00:11:16

news of

00:11:21

the Messengers has come to you, even if their honor is too great for you. If you are

00:11:27

able to seek a

00:11:34

tunnel in the earth or a ladder in

00:11:43

The sky

00:11:45

would bring

00:11:47

him a sign, and if God had willed, He would have gathered them together upon

00:11:53

guidance, so do not

00:11:56

be of the ignorant.

00:12:01

Only those who

00:12:05

hear respond, and the dead are sent by God. Then to Him they will

00:12:13

return and say, “If only a sign had been sent down to him from his

00:12:20

Lord.” Say, “God is able to send down a sign.”

00:12:29

But most of them

00:12:34

do not know, and there is not a living creature

00:12:39

on the earth nor a

00:12:42

bird that flies. With his wings, except for

00:12:50

nations like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book.

00:12:56

Then, to their Lord, they will be

00:13:02

gathered. And those who disbelieved in Our

00:13:06

signs are deaf and

00:13:10

dumb in

00:13:13

the darkness. Whomever God wills, He leads astray. And whoever He wills, He places

00:13:21

on a

00:13:26

straight path. Say, “Have you thought

00:13:29

that the punishment of God should come upon you? Or that the Hour should come upon you. Other than

00:13:36

God

00:13:38

you will call upon. Other than God you will call upon if

00:13:44

you are

00:13:47

truthful.” Rather, it is to Him that you call upon, and He will reveal what you call upon,

00:13:54

if He wills,

00:13:57

and you will forget what

00:14:00

they have hidden. And indeed,

00:14:03

We have sent

00:14:05

to

00:14:06

nations from your grave, so We seized them with calamity

00:14:15

[music] and

00:14:17

affliction, so

00:14:19

We seized them

00:14:22

with calamity

00:14:23

[music] and

00:14:24

hardship that perhaps they might supplicate. But

00:14:31

when

00:14:34

He came to them with Our affliction, they would supplicate, but their hearts were hardened,

00:14:43

but Satan made what they were doing seem pleasing to them. So when

00:14:54

They forgot what they were reminded of, so We opened to them the

00:15:00

doors of everything,

00:15:03

until when

00:15:06

they rejoiced,

00:15:08

until when they rejoiced in what they

00:15:13

were given, We seized them suddenly, and lo, they were confused, and the foundations of the

00:15:22

people who had wronged were cut off. Praise be to God,

00:15:29

Lord of

00:15:31

the worlds. Say, “Have you considered that God took your hearing

00:15:37

and your sight and sealed

00:15:40

your hearts from a god other than God?

00:15:45

He would bring it to you.

00:15:47

See how. We recite the signs, then they

00:15:56

turn away. Say, “Have you considered

00:15:59

that the punishment of God should come upon you suddenly or openly? Will it perish

00:16:06

except the

00:16:09

wrongdoing people? And We do not send messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warnings. So whoever

00:16:16

believes and reforms,

00:16:19

then whoever believes and reforms, there will be no fear upon them, nor will they

00:16:27

grieve. And

00:16:29

those who disbelieve in

00:16:32

Our verses will be touched by the torment because they were

00:16:39

disobedient. Say, ‘I will not tell you with Me.’”

00:16:45

God's treasures, and I do not know

00:16:50

the unseen,

00:16:52

nor do I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an

00:17:00

angel. I only follow what is

00:17:04

revealed to me.

00:17:06

Say, Are the blind and the seeing equal? Will you not

00:17:14

consider? And

00:17:16

I warn with Him those who fear that they will be

00:17:22

gathered to their Lord. They have no protector besides Him. They have no protector or

00:17:30

intercessor besides Him. That they may

00:17:41

fear. You will expel those who call upon their

00:17:47

Lord in the morning

00:17:50

and the evening, seeking

00:17:53

His face. You are not responsible for

00:17:57

anything from their account, nor is your account for

00:18:04

them, nor is anything from your account for them. So you expel them and

00:18:13

become of the

00:18:17

wrongdoers. And thus We have

00:18:20

tried

00:18:22

some of them with others so that

00:18:25

they may say, “Are these

00:18:30

from God

00:18:34

upon them from

00:18:37

among us?” Does not God know best who are thankful?

00:18:44

And when

00:18:46

those who believe in

00:18:50

Our signs come to you, say so. Peace be

00:18:54

upon you, so say, Peace be upon me. Your Lord has decreed mercy upon Himself.

00:19:05

That whoever of you does

00:19:10

evil

00:19:12

out of ignorance and then

00:19:17

repents and then repents after him and makes amends, then he is

00:19:24

Forgiving and

00:19:27

Merciful. And thus

00:19:29

We detail the verses, so that you may make clear the

00:19:35

path of

00:19:38

the criminals. Say, “Indeed, I am forbidden to worship those whom you call upon

00:19:45

other than God.” Say, “I do not follow

00:19:52

your desires.” Say, “I do not follow.”

00:19:57

Your desires have gone astray, then, and I am not of the

00:20:05

rightly guided. Say, “

00:20:07

I am upon clear evidence

00:20:09

from my Lord,” and

00:20:13

you have denied it. “I have nothing with which you are hasty.” Indeed,

00:20:18

judgment belongs only to

00:20:23

God. He tells the truth, and He is the best of two people.

00:20:29

Say, “If I had what you have to

00:20:34

hasten, the matter would have been decided between me

00:20:39

and you. And God knows best

00:20:44

the wrongdoers, and with Him are the

00:20:46

keys of the unseen, which God does not

00:20:50

know.”

00:20:52

And He knows what is on land

00:20:57

and in the sea, and not from His leaves fall, but He knows them, nor is His

00:21:05

love in the darknesses of the earth, nor fresh nor

00:21:12

dry, nor

00:21:14

wet nor dry, except in a

00:21:21

clear book. And He is the One who

00:21:24

takes you in death by night, and He knows what

00:21:28

you do

00:21:30

by day, then He resurrects you in it,

00:21:35

then He resurrects you in it so that a specified term may be fulfilled,

00:21:44

then to Him is your return, then He

00:21:51

informs you. Because of what you

00:21:56

did, He is the Omnipotent, above His servants, and He sends

00:22:03

His protection upon you, until when death comes to one of you,

00:22:12

even when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him to death, and they do

00:22:19

not

00:22:22

differentiate. Then

00:22:26

they are returned to God, their

00:22:30

true master.

00:22:56

Deliver us from this, so that we may be

00:22:59

among those

00:23:02

who are thankful. Say, “God

00:23:06

will save you from it and from every

00:23:10

distress.” Then you associate others with others.

00:23:15

Say, “He is able to send upon you

00:23:23

a torment from above you or from under

00:23:28

your feet, or to clothe you in

00:23:32

sects and make some of

00:23:35

you taste the cruelty of others.

00:23:38

See how we interpret the verses so that they

00:23:46

may understand.” And your people lied about it, and it is the

00:23:51

truth. Say, “I am not.” You must have

00:23:56

an agent for every

00:24:00

confirmed report, and you will

00:24:03

know. And when you see those who engage in Our signs,

00:24:11

turn away from them until

00:24:15

they engage in conversation, then turn away from them until they engage in another conversation.

00:24:24

And as for them to

00:24:26

forget that you are Satan, do not sit after remembrance with the

00:24:36

wrongdoing people. And there is nothing upon those who fear from

00:24:41

their reckoning, but a reminder that they may

00:24:49

fear. And leave behind those they have taken. Their religion is play and

00:24:56

amusement, and the life of

00:24:59

this world has deceived them, and it is reminded by it that a soul should be tyrannical for what it has earned. It has no protector

00:25:08

besides God. It has no

00:25:18

guardian or intercessor other than God. And if it does every justice, it will not be taken

00:25:24

from it. Those

00:25:26

who were tyrannical for what they

00:25:30

earned will have a

00:25:33

drink of hot water and a painful torment because they

00:25:41

disbelieved. Say, “Come on.” Other than God, that which neither

00:25:47

benefits us nor harms us, and we are returned on

00:25:54

our heels and returned in our punishment after God has guided us.

00:26:05

Like the one whom the devils tempted on earth.

00:26:17

Hiran has

00:26:22

companions who call him

00:26:24

to guidance. Hiran has companions who invite him to guidance. Come to us. Say that God’s guidance is

00:26:32

guidance, and command us to submit to the Lord of

00:26:37

the worlds. Establish prayer and fear Him, and He is the

00:26:43

one to whom you

00:26:47

will be gathered. And it is He who created the heavens and the earth

00:26:53

with truth. And on the Day when He says, “Be,” His

00:26:58

word will be the

00:27:01

truth. And to Him belongs the dominion on the day when He blows the trumpet, Knower of the

00:27:07

unseen

00:27:09

and the witnessed, and He is the Wise and the All-Aware.

00:27:14

And when Abraham said to his father, “Azar, do you take

00:27:20

idols as

00:27:22

your gods? Indeed, I

00:27:24

see you and your people in

00:27:30

clear error.” Thus do We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens.

00:27:37

And the earth, and to be of

00:27:41

those who are certain.

00:27:43

Then when night descended upon him, he saw a star and said, “This is my Lord.” When it set, he said, “I do

00:27:53

not like

00:27:59

stars.” Then

00:28:01

when he saw the moon

00:28:03

rising, he said, “This is my

00:28:07

Lord.” When it set, he said, “

00:28:09

If my Lord does not guide me, I will

00:28:15

be among the misguided people.”

00:28:23

When he saw the sun

00:28:26

rising, he said, “This is my Lord. This is

00:28:31

greater.”

00:28:34

When it set, he said, “Oh.” My people, I am

00:28:40

innocent of what

00:28:44

you associate. Indeed,

00:28:46

I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth,

00:28:53

as an upright, and I am not of the polytheist. [

00:28:59

Laughter] And he argued

00:29:01

with his people. He said

00:29:04

[Laughter] Do

00:29:09

you dispute with me about God, when He

00:29:13

has guided me? And I do not fear what you associate with Him,

00:29:20

unless my

00:29:22

Lord wills

00:29:25

something. He encompasses all things in knowledge. So will

00:29:33

you not remember? How can I fear? You have not associated anything with God, and you do not fear

00:29:40

that

00:29:42

you have associated anything

00:29:44

with God, and you do not fear that

00:29:49

you have associated anything with God for which He has not sent down to you any

00:29:56

authority.

00:29:58

Which of the two parties has more right to security if

00:30:04

you

00:30:07

know those who have believed and not

00:30:11

mixed up

00:30:13

their faith with injustice? Those have

00:30:16

security and they are

00:30:21

guided. And that is

00:30:24

Our argument that

00:30:26

We gave

00:30:28

Abraham to

00:30:30

his people. We raise in

00:30:33

degrees whomsoever

00:30:37

We will. Indeed, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. And

00:30:42

We gave him Isaac and Jacob; each of them

00:30:50

We guided, and Noah We guided before, and from his offspring

00:30:59

David, and from his

00:31:02

offspring David,

00:31:05

and Solomon, and Job, and Joseph, and Moses, and

00:31:11

Aaron.

00:32:00

That is the guidance of God, by which He guides whomsoever He

00:32:06

wills of

00:32:09

His servants. And if they had associated partners, He would have nullified from them what they used to

00:32:17

do. Those are those to whom

00:32:19

We have given the Book, the wisdom, and the

00:32:25

prophecy. So if he disbelieves

00:32:28

in it, and if these disbelieve in it, then We have appointed with it a

00:32:33

people who are not

00:32:42

disbelievers in it.

00:32:43

These are the ones whom God has guided, so follow his

00:32:50

guidance. Say, “I do not ask you for any

00:32:56

reward for it. Indeed, it is only A reminder

00:33:02

to the worlds, and God has not destined what

00:33:06

He has rightly destined, when they said, “God has not sent down

00:33:17

anything to a human being.” Say, “Who sent down the Book that Moses brought as

00:33:25

a light and a guidance

00:33:27

to mankind?” You make it into writings, which you

00:33:32

reveal and conceal

00:33:38

much.

00:33:40

And you taught what neither

00:33:43

you nor your

00:33:49

fathers knew. Say, “God.” Then leave them in their midst

00:33:55

playing, and

00:33:57

this is a book that

00:34:00

We revealed.

00:34:02

Blessed is the believer who is before

00:34:06

him, the believer who is before him. And may you warn

00:34:12

Umm al-Qura and those

00:34:16

around it. And those who believe in the

00:34:19

afterlife believe in Him and are in their prayers will be unfair.

00:34:49

In the depths of death,

00:34:58

the angels

00:35:00

spread out

00:35:03

their hands,

00:35:06

and the angels

00:35:07

spread out their hands. Bring

00:35:12

yourselves out today and you will be recompensed.

00:35:15

Today you will be recompensed with the torment of humiliation, for what you used to

00:35:22

say about God other than

00:35:25

the truth, and for

00:35:27

what you used to say about God other than the truth, and you were arrogant

00:35:34

about His signs. And

00:35:38

you have come to Us

00:35:41

alone just as We created you the first time,

00:35:47

and you have abandoned what

00:35:51

We have granted you, and you have left

00:35:53

what

00:35:55

We have granted you behind your backs. And we do not see with you

00:36:02

the intercessors of yours whom

00:36:05

you claimed, and we do not see with you

00:36:10

the intercessors of yours whom you claimed to be

00:36:17

partners among you. It has been cut off between you and has gone astray

00:36:22

from you. That which you claimed

00:36:28

is that God separates the grain

00:36:32

and the nucleus, He brings out the living from the dead, and He brings forth the dead from the

00:36:39

living. That is God. For we are afraid. So He created

00:36:45

the morning and made the night rest, and the

00:36:51

sun and the moon.

00:36:54

Sufficient for us. That is Able. The Mighty, the

00:36:59

All-Knowing, and He is the One who made

00:37:04

the stars for you to be guided by them in the darkness of the land

00:37:10

and the sea. We have detailed the signs for a people who know, and He is the One

00:37:16

who

00:37:21

produced you from a single soul, a

00:37:27

stable

00:37:29

and a storehouse. We have detailed the signs for a people who

00:37:36

understand. It is He

00:37:38

who sends down water from

00:37:42

the sky, and with it

00:37:45

We bring forth the vegetation of all

00:37:50

things, and from it We bring forth green, from it we bring forth grains that

00:37:58

are gathered together. And from the palm trees from their

00:38:04

pollen, and from the palm trees from their pollen, full and near, and gardens and gardens of

00:38:16

grapes, and olives and

00:38:22

pomegranates,

00:38:24

similar to each other, and oil and

00:38:28

pomegranates

00:38:30

similar and not

00:38:33

similar.

00:38:36

Look at its

00:38:38

fruit when it bears fruit and ripens it.

00:38:42

Indeed, in that are

00:38:47

signs for people who

00:38:52

believe. And they attributed to God the evil of the creation of the jinn and created them, and

00:39:00

created sons

00:39:05

and daughters for him, and created sons

00:39:10

and daughters for him without

00:39:13

knowledge. Glory be to

00:39:14

Him, the Most High, above what

00:39:19

they describe, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has a

00:39:27

son and you do not have a

00:39:31

companion. He created

00:39:34

everything, and He is All-

00:39:58

Knowing of everything. That is God, your Lord. There is no god but Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. He is a guardian over all things, which sight cannot perceive, and He comprehends

00:40:04

sight. And He is the Kind, All-

00:40:08

Aware. Insights have

00:40:11

come to you.

00:40:13

From your Lord. So whoever sees, it is for his own

00:40:19

soul. So whoever sees, it is for his own soul. And whoever sees, it is for his own soul. And whoever is blind,

00:40:25

it is for it. I am not a guardian over you. And thus do We explain

00:40:36

the verses, so that they may say, “I have

00:40:37

studied, and We will make it clear to a

00:40:42

people who

00:40:45

know. Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord. There is no god

00:40:53

but Him. There is no god but Him. There is no

00:40:54

god but Him. There is no god but Him. And turn away from the

00:41:03

polytheists. Had God willed, they would not have associated others, and

00:41:11

We have not made you a

00:41:14

guardian over them. And

00:41:16

you are not

00:41:22

an agent over them, and do not revile those whom they call upon other than God, for

00:41:29

God reviles an enemy without

00:41:34

knowledge. Thus We have adorned for

00:41:37

every nation

00:41:41

their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will

00:41:48

inform them of what they used to

00:41:52

do. And they swore by God, the guide of their faith. If a sign

00:41:59

comes to them, they will

00:42:02

believe in

00:42:04

it. Say, “The signs are only with God, and He does not make you aware

00:42:13

that when they come,

00:42:19

they will not believe.” And We will turn

00:42:22

their hearts

00:42:24

and their eyes as they did not believe in

00:42:27

Him the first time,

00:42:31

and We will leave them blind in

00:42:33

their transgression. And

00:42:36

if We

00:42:41

had sent down to them

00:42:44

the angels, and the

00:42:45

dead had spoken to them, and We had gathered upon them everything

00:42:53

before, and We had gathered upon them everything before, they would not have

00:43:02

believed

00:43:03

unless

00:43:08

God willed,

00:43:10

but most of them are

00:43:14

ignorant. And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy,

00:43:20

devils of mankind and the jinn, who inspire.

00:43:28

Some of them suggest to one another embellished words out of deception, and

00:43:36

if your Lord had willed, they would not have done them. So leave them and what they invent, and that the

therein, but they plot only against
