today i'm going to be talking to you

about the different phases of solar

construction i started out 15 years ago

looking at digesters on farms worked in

wind

landfill gas and now i focus on solar

let's talk about the different parts of

the construction of the solar farm
00:00:41
the construction begins when the site is
00:00:43
identified
00:00:44
and the land is then signed up once
00:00:47
we've identified all the land
00:00:50
the engineers will look at where the
00:00:52
different setbacks within that land
00:00:55
and where they can place panels the
00:00:57
engineering really kicks off
00:00:58
with the site survey the site survey

will delineate all the boundaries
00:01:03
of parcels it will identify all the
00:01:06
features on the ground
00:01:08
and import very importantly it will
00:01:10
identify the topography of the site

once the survey is complete and the
00:01:13
design is complete

then it's time to begin construction

this starts with

the marking of the locations for the
00:01:20
post the posts

are actually galvanized i-beams that are

driven into the ground

at least eight feet and stick out of the

ground

four to six feet once the locations are

and the posts are delivered to site they

can then be

laid out in their north to south rows

a pile driving machine comes along and

drives the post into the ground

once all the posts have been erected
