18 августа на военном полигоне «Чирчик» состоялась церемония открытия смотра-конкурса «Передовой специалист». На площади полигона прошел военный парад, состоялись показательные прыжки с парашютом воздушно-десантных войск. В первый день мероприятия были проведены также соревнования «Танковый биатлон». Победителей соревнования наградили медалями, дипломами и другими ценными подарками от министра обороны. Программой мероприятия также запланированы соревнования по биатлону, боевому биатлону, стрельбе из лука и гиревому спорту. Смотр-конкурс продлится до 22 августа на полигоне «Чирчик» Ташкентского военного округа и полигонах «Сазаган» и «Каттакурган» Центрального военного округа.
