children being housed in the same places00:05:41
as the adults that they didn't know that00:05:42
makes sense so they actually built the00:05:44
children's building at the far end of00:05:46
the 20s a little bit after that they00:05:48
actually started condemning the wooden00:05:49
hospital building chairs saying they00:05:50
weren't taking good enough care of them00:05:52
yeah so they tore them down they built00:05:53
the building we're in right now for the00:05:54
adult patients in 1937. that hallway00:05:57

it closed it was a nursing home for 1900:06:27
years as well so there were about some00:06:28
more deaths during that time period and00:06:30

in new york state that every single00:07:32
county in new york state was required to00:07:34
have at least one tv hospital we're00:07:35
actually one of the smaller tv hospitals00:07:37
for the area we still had 800 to a00:07:39
thousand deaths here and so it went00:07:40
abandoned because they need this no more00:07:42
right because they invented the actual00:07:43
vaccine for tv so when they found the00:07:45
cure for tv they closed this building in00:07:47
1960 it was closed for one year while00:07:49
they did some renovations and they00:07:50
