00:00:00
hey guys it's a rainy day in Hohenwald
00:00:03
Tennessee but we're super excited
00:00:05
because we get a contour of Oliver we
00:00:09
didn't know if this is going to be
00:00:10
possible this year but when we were here
00:00:13
last year for the Eclipse we totally
00:00:16
missed our opportunity we didn't book in
00:00:17
advance and we missed the tour so since
00:00:22
this is on our way to California we
00:00:23
wanted to take the opportunity to stop
00:00:25
take a tour of the plant and see the
00:00:29
inside of some Oliver's deliver them
00:00:49
well I don't deliver them but what I do
00:00:51
is um we'll cover shows oh the rallies we
00:00:54
actually the last one I went to was the
00:00:56
bola rally and win a panic I bet yeah
00:00:58
bullets wildly popular in Quebec they
00:01:01
had their 50th anniversary yeah
00:01:03
in Winnipeg I saw so I got to go to that
00:01:06
that's really that was actually my first
00:01:08
time in Canada so it was finished really
00:01:10
yeah yeah I was a shame to admit you
00:01:12
know for Arizona just now
00:01:14
oh they're gonna wait for but you know
00:01:16
what though it opened up some doors I'm
00:01:18
going back oh yeah beautiful country so
00:01:23
this is there's gonna be a lot that this
00:01:26
building in towns because we do the same
00:01:28
step walk-in tubs as well yeah so you'll
00:01:30
see a lot of stuff that pertains to that
00:01:32
and if you have any questions on that
00:01:33
stuff
00:01:34
absolutely we'll talk mostly about
00:01:36
travel truth okay great so a little
00:01:41
history on the building and the company
00:01:42
itself the company was started by two
00:01:45
twin brothers Jim and John Oliver and
00:01:48
actually John Oliver didn't actually get
00:01:52
to make it to see he passed a no six so
00:01:54
he didn't get to make it to really see
00:01:55
the dream kind of play out Hey but they
00:01:59
basically decided that you know they you
00:02:02
know they grew up as campers they raised
00:02:05
their kids as campers they were always
00:02:07
taking trips and of course they had
00:02:10
businesses to run to so they had
00:02:12
naturally sales people that would have
00:02:14
to go across the country to the
00:02:15
respective territories and in order to
00:02:19
cut back on lodging fun for their
00:02:23
salespeople they decided to buy actually
00:02:26
a fleet of casitas initially so and the
00:02:29
thing is is they they really just they
00:02:32
found themselves putting a lot of money
00:02:33
into maintenance and stuff yeah so they
00:02:35
wanted to try to build something that
00:02:36
was more specific to their needs and
00:02:40
being avid hunters and campers they'd
00:02:43
like to have something that they could
00:02:44
camp in colder weather so they
00:02:47
definitely knew that they were going to
00:02:48
do something for season yeah which is
00:02:50
where the double-hole construction comes
00:02:51
into play
00:02:52
okay and the reason why it was easy for
00:02:56
them to get into this business is
00:02:57
because as you see here they build this
00:02:59
for walking walking bathtub yeah out of
00:03:01
fiberglass
00:03:03
so it's the same content that was their
00:03:04
core business that's correct right they
00:03:07
do this and then Jim has another plant
00:03:09
down the road where he does mobile home
00:03:12
manufactures those injection molded
00:03:15
polymer pads and anchoring systems for
00:03:18
okay for like the trailer models that
00:03:22
stay there okay I got it
00:03:24
so essentially he makes foundation parts
00:03:27
that that will keep a trailer grounded
00:03:30
whenever there's inclement weather like
00:03:32
tornadoes so he actually he's got some
00:03:37
patents on some of that stuff and he's
00:03:39
been doing that for longer than any of
00:03:40
this other stuff that's what really got
00:03:43
him to Hohenwald he was originally from
00:03:45
Michigan he went through California and
00:03:48
then ended up here doing that so then of
00:03:51
course started making mistakes about
00:03:53
that because of that is I mean the fact
00:03:58
that we were doing fogger buy stuff was
00:04:00
the whole reason he had the means to do
00:04:03
the trailer because he already had
00:04:05
fiberglass people right yeah but the
00:04:07
thing is is it's one thing just to have
00:04:09
fiberglass experience it's another thing
00:04:11
to know how to actually build a travel
00:04:13
trailer Jim so he actually brought a
00:04:15
couple of people in from the land
00:04:21
what did they called it was catamaran
00:04:25
catamaran just like the like the boat
00:04:28
yeah I didn't know that there was a
00:04:29
company called category there's a
00:04:31
company called Brad actually a couple
00:04:33
towns over from here and there was two
00:04:36
people there that were just fiberglass
00:04:38
gurus they knew how to build molds they
00:04:40
knew how to you know they knew how to do
00:04:45
fiberglass work so they brought them in
00:04:48
and they started to technically reverse
00:04:50
engineer a concealer so they took the
00:04:56
you know the design of a caseta and they
00:04:58
kind of broke it down decided some of
00:05:01
the things that they wanted to do
00:05:02
different that would give them that
00:05:04
four-season quality right so I mean you
00:05:07
will see you throughout this tour
00:05:08
there's a number of different things
00:05:09
that they do just a little bit different
00:05:11
that provide yeah for sure so we'll show
00:05:16
you that where we're about to walk now
00:05:18
is going to be into the fiberglass
00:05:20
section okay this is where they actually
00:05:22
build these fiberglass bone I'm sorry
00:05:25
the fiberglass part
00:05:37
okay
00:05:39
so we're about the first of all before
00:05:41
we get started on this I'll let you know
00:05:42
we've gotten roughly 50 or so 50 or 55
00:05:46
employees that work for the travel
00:05:48
trailer side okay so you'll see a number
00:05:50
of other employees that work with a safe
00:05:51
bet tubs but when we get over to the
00:05:54
main production area
00:05:59
you guys familiar at all without fiber
00:06:02
glasses sprayed onto a mold a little bit
00:06:06
we were at the Northern Lights
00:06:09
manufacturing plant in Kelowna BC so
00:06:12
actually right here it's a good place to
00:06:14
stand to kind of see some different
00:06:15
stages I'm in the fiberglass in process
00:06:18
number one you have a mold and of course
00:06:21
each of these big large you see hanging
00:06:23
here are moles for the four shells so
00:06:27
you have four total homes you have it's
00:06:31
a double hull which sounds like too but
00:06:34
you actually have an upper or lower and
00:06:36
then an upper and a lower inner liner as
00:06:38
well okay so this is actually an elite
00:06:41
one lower show you can tell because of
00:06:43
the single axle mold there alright for a
00:06:51
small part just like you have a mole
00:06:52
here with Joe codon close once these
00:06:57
molds are conditioned and cleaned and
00:06:59
ready they will spray a ultra white
00:07:01
bright gel coat which is a
00:07:03
transportation great Joe coat onto the
00:07:05
bulb say okay
00:07:07
then of course they did black gel coat
00:07:10
that you see on top of the white is a
00:07:12
what's called a barrier coat okay and
00:07:14
that pretty much keeps that white gel
00:07:17
coat from being as coarse as it is it
00:07:20
doesn't allow the degrading of the Joko
00:07:25
it's quick so essentially what it does
00:07:28
is that it's any reinforces exactly
00:07:31
exactly right becoming chalky you know
00:07:35
as soon and then of course if you as
00:07:38
long as you maintain that won't go
00:07:40
a waxy early wax and then clean after UV
00:07:44
inhibitors back into the gel coat and
00:07:46
you'll keep it I think the joke coat
00:07:53
that you spraying there like I said
00:07:55
that's a transportation great joke coat
00:07:57
it'll be used for the outside of the
00:07:59
trailer and of course the inside say
00:08:01
every single part that goes into making
00:08:03
this trailer was used with that joke so
00:08:06
not only nation grade but it it also has
00:08:11
natural UV inhibitors in so that's why
00:08:14
you want to add those UV inhibitors with
00:08:16
a different types of materials like
00:08:18
Syria shine order gloss pretty much
00:08:21
anything you can use photos for your
00:08:24
casita okay so you want to buy so
00:08:30
there's a number of different products
00:08:31
that that do that correct absolutely any
00:08:36
type of gel coated so the processes you
00:08:43
see here you know they it gets the white
00:08:44
gel coat it gets the barrier coat then
00:08:47
it moves on the inside of course doesn't
00:08:49
get a barrier coat because it won't be
00:08:50
exposed to the elements and you see
00:08:53
that's that part over there they're
00:08:55
working on is actually the lower line up
00:08:57
so that's the floor and the seating area
00:09:00
and it's and different things like that
00:09:01
been area after these young coat has
00:09:05
been applied they're going to apply the
00:09:06
fiberglass which we don't see them doing
00:09:08
that on anything right now but if you
00:09:10
come over here yeah I can see it on the
00:09:12
edge you can see this has been
00:09:13
fiberglass and as the fiberglass comes
00:09:16
out onto the park it comes out you know
00:09:18
choppy like this yeah and you can see
00:09:20
the drops of resin on it black okay so
00:09:23
this is cured now totally cured but
00:09:25
before it in here they actually have to
00:09:27
go through and and roll all of this out
00:09:29
so they take the rollers that vary in
00:09:31
size from you know an inch and a half to
00:09:34
big rollers on the booths yeah and then
00:09:37
we'll roll with all of this out making
00:09:38
sure that there's no air between the gel
00:09:41
coat and the fiberglass itself okay
00:09:43
so that's also for reinforcement making
00:09:46
sure that there's no spider cracking in
00:09:48
the gel coat
00:09:49
and just making sure that it's a
00:09:50
structurally sound then if you look
00:09:53
really closely you will see some you'll
00:09:57
see certain areas that have an extra
00:09:59
layer of fiberglass and light in okay
00:10:03
and essentially this is a bi-directional
00:10:05
woven mat that is just reinforced
00:10:08
fiberglass that's not chopped out of the
00:10:11
gun but more so hand laid in you can see
00:10:13
it's cut into certain areas here right
00:10:18
here is one of the bigger areas this
00:10:19
whole spare tire cover area here okay
00:10:24
and that's all hand laid in and then
00:10:27
walnut as well with the same range of
00:10:29
chemicals so essentially the bottom
00:10:31
glass comes out it's chopped out of a
00:10:33
gun off of the spool all right it cuts
00:10:36
the chopper fiberglass up into small
00:10:38
pieces mixes it with a resin that's what
00:10:41
goes on and they roll that out now
00:10:42
there's a catalyst that goes in with it
00:10:45
that it's hardening hardening over time
00:10:55
okay so this has been sitting here for
00:10:58
24 hours yes or more depending on where
00:11:02
they are Stewart is actually been here
00:11:07
the longest out of everybody over here
00:11:08
and he runs this the oh yeah you
00:11:10
can do everything over here he's just
00:11:13
putting gel coat on that hole right
00:11:15
there which I believe it's going to be
00:11:17
for the elite one wall from Nike
00:11:23
and when I say wall I'm talking about
00:11:25
the divider wall between the bathroom
00:11:28
involvement and the rest of the main
00:11:29
cabin okay and you'll see that a little
00:11:31
bit more later so actually now you can
00:11:35
actually see them see the fiberglass
00:11:36
being chopped out we can move it a
00:11:39
little bit of the green I don't want to
00:11:44
give too close to that that gun can
00:11:45
shoot pretty far and it'd be over
00:11:48
certain you might get it might become a
00:11:50
sticky situation but you see how they've
00:11:52
got the roller to and they're just
00:11:54
rolling at 500 I see it over that joke
00:12:01
[Music]
00:12:07
it's just a matter of difference you
00:12:09
know quality of Joko things like that
00:12:11
I'm not sure what the CDs is we use a
00:12:14
transportation great Joseph so all of
00:12:17
that white gel coat even though that's
00:12:19
on the inside
00:13:11
[Laughter]
00:13:14
all of a sudden I find myself becoming
00:13:16
an RV oh yeah I definitely have fallen
00:13:19
in love with the lifestyle yeah it's
00:13:22
something I plan on doing now so let's
00:13:25
go over here work I'm gonna show you a
00:13:26
couple more things okay so you see a
00:13:28
number of different small parts that are
00:13:30
built in the same fashion so this was a
00:13:32
mole for the fender that they put a part
00:13:35
on okay and you see it's just fiberglass
00:13:38
right and of course Joko everything's
00:13:42
made of the same material the same
00:13:43
process now there's a number of
00:13:48
different things that we use for for
00:13:49
structural integrity and reinforcement
00:13:51
okay
00:13:52
of course the bi-directional fiberglass
00:13:56
I was telling you about earlier it's
00:13:58
just a woven mat right with fiberglass
00:14:00
this is just for added strength and you
00:14:03
see there's a number of different and
00:14:05
where are those used different places so
00:14:08
that would be used for the steps and
00:14:11
then there's other things too so then of
00:14:13
course you have this carbon core okay
00:14:17
these this is a very lightweight
00:14:19
material it's a polymer type material
00:14:21
plastic and it there's obviously a
00:14:26
number of different areas for that as
00:14:28
well you can see cutouts but this is a
00:14:31
honeycomb design material you can see
00:14:34
the honeycomb type okay structure it's
00:14:37
got this film over it on both sides so
00:14:40
that there isn't when it's laid in
00:14:42
doesn't seep down into each of these
00:14:44
sails and it allows air pockets okay and
00:14:47
here so what this does is it actually
00:14:49
provide structural integrity for places
00:14:51
where we're gonna cut windows out or
00:14:53
places where we're going to mount stuff
00:14:55
to the roof and of course it would go
00:14:57
all along the floor as well okay so it
00:14:59
just gives the five of us a little more
00:15:01
rigidity okay but it also is lightweight
00:15:03
so it's not like adding wood or metal
00:15:05
for that integrity you know
00:15:07
yeah oh wait but at the same time just
00:15:12
as an added bonus and this isn't even
00:15:13
really why we use it but this one
00:15:16
provides you an insulative quality as
00:15:18
well so even though we're insulating the
00:15:20
travel trailers with a specific type of
00:15:23
insulation which will go on later this
00:15:26
provides insulative quality just as well
00:15:28
because the air pockets right exactly
00:15:30
right so you have the air pockets but
00:15:33
you also have the natural air gap from
00:15:35
being double hole construction so you'll
00:15:37
have an air gap between the outer shell
00:15:39
and the inertia but not only does it
00:15:42
provide the insulated quality it
00:15:43
provides sound damn yeah so kidding
00:15:46
of course it's not used in the complete
00:15:48
surface area of the show
00:15:50
but it's used on the sides on the floor
00:15:53
and on the roof so essentially you have
00:15:55
full coverage of sound dampening
00:15:57
material in the top you'll come over
00:16:00
here I'll show you that in action right
00:16:04
here we have this is our elite one model
00:16:07
which is our eighteen and a half foot
00:16:10
single axle this is gonna be the outer
00:16:12
shell okay
00:16:13
you see that carbon core is used all
00:16:15
along the roof right right here where
00:16:18
the windows gonna be cut out all down
00:16:21
the side here the windows will be cut
00:16:22
out on me
00:16:26
here are the metal backer plates for
00:16:31
mounting the solar panels oh okay
00:16:33
so when I mount those solar panels they
00:16:35
have to have something to tap into for
00:16:37
those screws to grab onto yeah and
00:16:40
that's what they use now the unique
00:16:43
thing about all of those each of the
00:16:44
trailers are going to be ripped going to
00:16:47
be fit with those pins those plant comes
00:16:49
standard on whether you get solar
00:16:52
involved which is amazing rut so that
00:16:54
way you have that resale value yeah that
00:16:56
ability to add solar later without the
00:16:58
cost yeah baby
00:17:00
being as much and it's just we do the
00:17:04
same thing with our wiring harness all
00:17:06
the harnesses are the same yeah the
00:17:07
backup lights are the same we try to
00:17:09
build pretty standard body and brain and
00:17:13
water and then we add more so than it
00:17:20
just being careful not to touch this one
00:17:23
you can tell that the color is a little
00:17:25
bit different than what we've seen yeah
00:17:27
a lot more red and pinkish tones do it
00:17:29
yeah that's because it's not fully cured
00:17:35
good you get the smell is a bit stronger
00:17:43
the upper liner Bank works we built
00:17:51
fiberglass Yokota's fiberglass cabinet
00:17:54
liners that will be mounted to this so
00:17:57
when your cabinet doors are off right
00:17:58
here okay and you hope that the cabinet
00:18:01
doors typically when you when you open
00:18:03
the cabinet door on a fiberglass trailer
00:18:05
what do you see on the caseta you see
00:18:07
fur right barking carpet or or just raw
00:18:11
fiberglass in some cases I thank you but
00:18:14
if they really advanced it to at least
00:18:15
paint it right yeah but we're gonna give
00:18:17
you a joke notice nice finished cabinet
00:18:20
like you'll see that in the end product
00:18:24
every line is being built there you see
00:18:26
how they take the shape of
00:18:28
yeah okay they're doing the washer so
00:19:14
this is this is the elite play you can
00:19:17
see this is the single axle frame which
00:19:19
would be similar to the size of your
00:19:21
casita frame except for a little bit
00:19:22
more bulky of course we don't use a
00:19:25
steel tube frame we use a aircraft-grade
00:19:28
aluminum okay so it's more resistant to rust
00:19:32
that's correct
00:19:33
let's brick that's the purpose it's
00:19:34
definitely more resistant to rust and
00:19:36
corrosion so you have an aircraft grade
00:19:38
aluminum frame okay it is two inch by
00:19:42
five inch tubing on the side rails and
00:19:44
then your tongue is actually five
00:19:47
eighths inch thick that's very thick
00:19:49
aluminum okay and that's a three by five
00:19:51
inch too
00:19:59
now the difference is on the elite one
00:20:02
in the elite two on the illusion trailer
00:20:04
you got the propane line coming right
00:20:06
down the middle of the frame here and
00:20:08
then can you see that because you have
00:20:11
components on either side of the trailer
00:20:13
on the elite to all of your propane
00:20:16
components on the curbside of the travel
00:20:18
trailers so they have two main trunk
00:20:20
line coming down the side essentially
00:20:23
from here all the way up okay okay so
00:20:26
those are the differences but what you
00:20:28
see here to be your furnace that'll be
00:20:31
your refrigerator your stove and your
00:20:33
hot water heater but if you look at some
00:20:37
of the weld right here the very nice
00:20:41
TIG welded welds there on that aluminum
00:20:43
okay are you guys the only ones in the
00:20:45
industry that use this has a great I
00:20:48
haven't seen this I think that we're the
00:20:50
only ones in the industry at least using
00:20:52
this this stout of an aluminum plant no
00:20:55
kidding does anybody else out there
00:20:57
doing aluminum I don't know about them
00:20:58
okay but if there are and I'm sure
00:21:00
somebody out there's got to be doing it
00:21:01
but if they are I doubt it I doubt it to
00:21:04
build as rigid as well cuz this is
00:21:05
amazing this is blowing my mind right
00:21:07
now this is probably our number one
00:21:10
sales tool no kidding no kidding right
00:21:16
so we do have we've got gas shocks out
00:21:20
of course there's two on the elite model
00:21:23
and on the elite two there's four
00:21:24
because you have you know 2x right so
00:21:30
you have the leaf spring yeah yes please
00:21:32
freak suspension wing right so you see
00:21:36
these these are what's called leaf
00:21:38
springs and see those all right
00:21:42
amazing right this thing is going to
00:21:46
handle rougher roads and potholes and
00:21:49
things like that a lot better than
00:21:51
anything that doesn't have right
00:21:53
operatic if you look at the clearance
00:21:54
just look at the clearance alone right
00:21:58
that's correct
00:22:00
this is a you're probably looking at
00:22:02
about I don't know probably 16 inches
00:22:05
from frame to the 4 on the elite - it's
00:22:09
an 18 inch clearance and on the elite -
00:22:13
you've got about a 15 inch clearance on
00:22:15
the axle itself which is the lowest
00:22:17
point yeah so it's definitely built for
00:22:19
off-roading yeah it's built for taking
00:22:22
it to those places that you can't get
00:22:24
everything no this is all built right
00:22:30
here as a matter of fact you can see our
00:22:32
welders getting a a jig getting one set
00:22:34
up in the jig right now so to finish
00:22:36
welding we get the aluminum shift in and
00:22:39
then we cut the aluminum down we cut it
00:22:41
into each piece and then now the reason
00:22:45
why you see such Goodwill's you know the
00:22:48
one we've got really great welders yeah
00:22:50
I got to give them credit but we also
00:22:51
gave them you know the tools that they
00:22:53
need to do the job properly yeah yeah
00:22:57
they can actually turn that over and do
00:22:59
the elite model on one side and then
00:23:01
turn it over to the elite too on the
00:23:02
other side so it's very efficient but
00:23:04
not just the efficient it's actually
00:23:06
very ergonomic because they can lift
00:23:08
that up to high level they can down to
00:23:10
waist level they can roll they're not
00:23:12
always bending over last century's right
00:23:15
yeah they're not in an awkward position
00:23:16
trying to do well and that's why you see
00:23:20
yeah no kidding and you know swirling
00:23:22
aluminum Finizio fender well so it takes
00:23:24
a lot of skill
00:23:40
don't want to tell you about we do it is
00:23:43
an aluminum frame but there is some
00:23:44
steel involved there's galvanized dipped
00:23:46
steel subframe here okay so what you see
00:23:49
here is actually or you can see it over
00:23:53
there with the bolts coming through it
00:23:54
yeah that's galvanized steel okay and
00:23:57
what we've done to prevent galvanic
00:24:00
reaction between the two metals is we've
00:24:03
added zinc anodes so you can see one of
00:24:05
those here that's a zinc anode there's one at each
00:24:08
corner and you'll see those on boat
00:24:10
trailers quite often and the reason you
00:24:12
see them on boat trailers is because
00:24:14
moisture and water is what causes rust
00:24:17
in steel right so when you have a steel
00:24:20
boat trailer you have to have think
00:24:21
anodes to take the brunt of that well
00:24:24
all right that anode will will will
00:24:27
absorb that's rust and corrosion okay
00:24:31
and you replace it Brett now now let me
00:24:34
give you an idea of how often you have
00:24:36
to replace on the paper on a boat
00:24:38
trailer something that's being submerged
00:24:40
in water you know over and over
00:24:42
going down the boat ramp okay you
00:24:45
probably have to change those out every
00:24:47
I'd say two to three years okay on this
00:24:50
you're looking more at six to eight
00:24:52
years because it's not being submerged
00:24:55
as office now you're all you are gonna
00:24:57
drive through wet areas you're gonna
00:24:58
drive in the rain you're gonna drive in
00:25:00
coastal areas you're gonna drive through
00:25:02
salt and brine on your you know salted
00:25:05
roads but what you do is you take care
00:25:07
of the frame just by spraying off the
00:25:09
under the chassis the undercarriage
00:25:11
every time you you know go through a
00:25:14
situation like that just be aware that
00:25:16
you know it wouldn't hurt to spray it
00:25:19
off but I've seen trailers come back
00:25:21
from 2008 and they're still just as
00:25:23
shiny aluminum as this
00:25:29
yeah and once they rust and once it gets
00:25:33
too bad it's your the replacing the
00:25:35
frame yes or you're gonna have issues
00:25:37
you know down the road oh yeah and you
00:25:39
don't and those are safety issues at
00:25:41
that point sure so that's right all
00:25:44
right so here so a simple operation used
00:25:51
to pull them out like this and then that
00:25:53
folds down okay because it's a higher
00:25:56
axle so you have the two steps right
00:25:58
we've got a double step they're very
00:26:00
sturdy they're not like most trailer
00:26:02
steps where you know after a year or so
00:26:04
they're starting to fall off and they're
00:26:06
hard to pull in before I see that like
00:26:08
with them these will always remain
00:26:10
through and they'll always remain easy
00:26:13
to pull in and pull out okay now I weigh
00:26:16
about 220 pounds okay
00:26:25
so I mean anybody in his eyes the door
00:26:33
hey it's cool and then once they're in
00:26:36
they're in there's no fins or any
00:26:38
matches of Jeopardy so it's very easy
00:26:41
now here I want to show you this is our
00:26:43
hitch W this is the Bulldog hitch this
00:26:46
comes primarily from the farming
00:26:48
industry I know you see this on a lot of
00:26:49
horse trailers and then a lot of bigger
00:26:51
farming equipment on lines and such the
00:26:55
reason is this gives you 360 degree to
00:27:00
the contact point on your ball so
00:27:02
instead of most hitches that come down
00:27:03
over the ball and then the swing gang
00:27:05
comes around and catches the backside of
00:27:07
the ball yeah this is actually providing
00:27:08
you that cool contact on the ball as it
00:27:12
articulates inside though it's a return
00:27:15
there's no chance all you know you're
00:27:17
going about a rough road or anything
00:27:19
bouncing along there's no chance for
00:27:21
this to fly off of the trailer so
00:27:24
essentially you know you close that pull
00:27:27
that back the collar slides over and
00:27:29
you're good to go
00:27:30
Thanks and of course there's a pin that
00:27:32
you'll put in here yeah Wow very sturdy
00:27:35
now each of our sections has an
00:27:38
inspection that goes through so this
00:27:40
frame has already been inspected and
00:27:43
signed off by our Quality Manager and
00:27:45
one of the team members and then of
00:27:46
course the welder itself inspections
00:27:50
well it goes through more than that
00:27:51
actually I'll talk a little bit more
00:27:53
about that oh this is the elite 2 frame
00:27:56
being built on me you can see it's much
00:27:58
longer but he's getting ready to I
00:28:03
believe since I see the subframe clamped
00:28:05
in you're getting ready to drill the
00:28:06
hole yeah
00:28:10
okay
00:28:25
[Music]
00:28:33
they're gonna spray a rubber cavity
00:28:35
spray into that channel before the
00:28:37
aluminum side rail is even put in there
00:28:39
all right this area is our prep
00:28:45
Department this is where they're going
00:28:47
to essentially build everything that
00:28:50
they don't react ml everything that they
00:28:53
can do before it's injected into the
00:28:55
actual this is one of our wiring harness
00:28:59
tables you'll notice that there's a
00:29:01
number of different tables each with
00:29:03
their own Horning okay
00:29:05
the wiring harnesses again something you
00:29:07
do in house so that we can fully control
00:29:09
the quality of that harness you can make
00:29:11
sure that when it's built it's built
00:29:13
with everything it needs there's nothing
00:29:14
that we have to add or remove so that's
00:29:17
just the benefit of again taking
00:29:19
ownership of it and doing it in half
00:29:21
yeah again that's something that's rare
00:29:24
most of the time you see people have
00:29:26
wiring harnesses built and sent in we
00:29:29
did do that when we first started and
00:29:31
we've very quickly realized that in
00:29:33
order to save money in order to keep
00:29:35
quality you know in its highest point we
00:29:37
may as well bring that in-house so we
00:29:39
had some of our best electricians build
00:29:43
yeah for sure I mean you're able to
00:29:45
control the quality and that's huge
00:29:47
right it really is the more more control
00:29:49
we have over that quality obviously the
00:29:51
better the product absolutely
00:29:53
[Music]
00:30:00
what actually walks notice here we've
00:30:06
got these are going to be your cabinet
00:30:09
doors okay we've got a couple of
00:30:12
different options you can do a black
00:30:14
cabinet door yeah okay or you can do a
00:30:20
frosted
00:30:24
which that one doesn't want to cooperate
00:30:26
but you can do a frosted cabinet boy
00:30:30
okay now each of these acrylic doors are
00:30:34
cut in-house as well this is all rounded
00:30:36
and done right here the trim rings for
00:30:40
those cabinet doors
00:30:41
this is vacuum-form see form that you
00:30:45
will acrylic okay this is also done
00:30:48
right here in him we vacuum form our own
00:30:51
grill extremely so artifice so this is
00:30:55
set up on CNC machine and round it out
00:31:02
[Music]
00:31:09
[Music]
00:31:11
well here's an example of one of the
00:31:14
cabinet liners that we were talking
00:31:15
about before okay this is what's going
00:31:17
to be mounted into or you know onto the
00:31:20
side of that upper liner
00:31:21
yeah which whenever you open your
00:31:23
cabinets you're gonna see that white
00:31:24
joke oh yeah so if you look down here I
00:31:26
roll this around a little bit you can
00:31:28
see that this is gonna be the finish of
00:31:32
your cabinet liners in the end so you
00:31:35
can see it's just fiberglass and of
00:31:36
course junk code on the inside now
00:31:40
you'll notice something his dick catches
00:31:45
you see here and from the other side
00:31:47
obviously I could turn that neck catch
00:31:49
and open that okay and the reason why we
00:31:52
have debt catches throughout the trailer
00:31:55
is for access to things like switches
00:31:58
and different wiring so when it's time
00:32:01
to do maintenance on these trailers
00:32:02
everything very easily active that's
00:32:07
definitely a great feature you see here
00:32:14
assembled by key so this would be
00:32:17
mounted with two bolts fraeno okay can
00:32:22
you see that again I didn't hear you
00:32:23
answer yes so that's okay this will be
00:32:25
mounted here right here or the two holes
00:32:27
are will be two carriage bolts that go
00:32:30
through and mount this to the frame okay
00:32:38
receiver hitch here that's for any
00:32:41
standard RV bike rack but they mounted
00:32:44
there well this is actually an option
00:32:50
and I'll try to as we go through I'll
00:32:53
try to differentiate you know the
00:32:55
different options in check this is gonna
00:32:58
be the bumper so you see this is also
00:33:02
that same aircraft grade aluminum yeah
00:33:05
it has got a brushed finish to it and
00:33:08
it's got the two brackets one on either
00:33:11
side you can see that it's built to
00:33:13
swing down when you open it and then
00:33:15
when you close it you just swing it back
00:33:18
up and you'll get a better idea of that
00:33:20
later on the walk
00:33:27
[Music]
00:33:36
so again pre-assembly is very important
00:33:39
to us so that way we can streamline the
00:33:41
process out there right so what you see
00:33:43
here is a platform with your water
00:33:46
puncture flow water pump and a cumulate
00:33:50
er now that is a standard feature here
00:33:52
so what this does is this allows
00:33:55
constant pressure from the pump so
00:33:58
instead of getting spitting and
00:33:59
squirting every time you turn the pump
00:34:00
on this is going to allow it to be you
00:34:03
know constant pressure at your faucets
00:34:04
and you know create constant waterfall
00:34:07
called an accumulator it's called an
00:34:09
accumulator if you zoom in on this here
00:34:11
it's made by the same company as the
00:34:13
water pump shurflo okay and it's just an
00:34:16
accumulator and what it does is it
00:34:17
stores air inside this bladder here okay
00:34:20
and that's what keeps this thing
00:34:22
constant that's standard correct now one
00:34:27
thing I want to point out on here as
00:34:28
well you don't have many water line
00:34:31
connections okay really this is gonna be
00:34:34
with the exception of the water inlets
00:34:37
on the trailer the majority of your
00:34:40
actual connection points for the water
00:34:42
lines okay and the reason why we've
00:34:45
achieved so few water connections is
00:34:47
because we use these braces here on this
00:34:49
pics the pics is very flexible hence the
00:34:52
name pics okay because it's flexible
00:34:55
instead of putting a 90-degree here I
00:34:57
can just use this brace right and you'll
00:35:00
see that throughout the trailer and
00:35:03
essentially what that does is it cuts
00:35:04
down on as many possible leak points
00:35:06
okay so it's definitely very well
00:35:10
thought-out Brett now the Picts itself
00:35:12
is actually rated for colder
00:35:14
temperatures as well so even though
00:35:15
you're at you've got a Four Seasons
00:35:16
trailer and you should never have
00:35:18
freezing water in here there's always a
00:35:21
chance for that if you for if you fail
00:35:23
to take the proper precautions so let's
00:35:25
say you left some water in here you
00:35:27
stored it outside and it got to negative
00:35:30
20 degrees and the water froze inside
00:35:35
but let's just say hypothetically that
00:35:38
happened the hex is designed to actually
00:35:41
expand so instead of breaking the
00:35:44
breaking point is definitely like
00:35:45
further out so that water will expand
00:35:48
and then contract and thaw out after
00:35:51
it's done you know after it's been
00:35:53
through the freezing process and save
00:35:56
this from breaking that's now it doesn't
00:35:57
mean that this gameplay it just has a
00:35:59
bigger threshold it really does it sure
00:36:08
that's one of the biggest things he's
00:36:19
propane quick connects Heather this is
00:36:21
gonna be an option for your trailer you
00:36:23
can get the propane Quick Connect
00:36:26
package will will give you this one here
00:36:28
and one in the rear so you'll have
00:36:30
actually this is this would be the one
00:36:32
that's mounted in the in the rear this
00:36:34
would be the one driving in the front
00:36:35
and what this does is it allows you to
00:36:39
use a propane fire pit or grill outside
00:36:43
they can cook outside under your arm
00:36:47
you're amazing so instead of having a
00:36:51
have anacs-- lug around a big grill with
00:36:52
you or well you have a grill but it'll
00:36:55
be a smaller problem but you still have
00:36:56
to get the fuel run carrying story run
00:37:00
that's really cool so it's a fairly
00:37:02
inexpensive option and it goes a long
00:37:04
way no kidding
00:37:09
[Music]
00:37:12
and you'll notice throughout a minute
00:37:14
see the attention to detail and the
00:37:17
thought process in the design of the
00:37:20
trailer not just a skill but where
00:37:23
everything's located just phenomenal and
00:37:29
of course you can see some more of that
00:37:30
next we use of course it's color coded
00:37:32
cold water and hot water so that makes
00:37:36
it simple for the technician working on
00:37:38
all of our different drain lines and
00:37:41
p-traps are built here with standard abs
00:37:43
tight plumbing invented and the great
00:37:48
news is for you Canadians I was under
00:38:03
the impression that if it was a new a
00:38:05
new RV that it did not need an
00:38:08
inspection or at least back well the
00:38:09
thing is is in it and it's definitely
00:38:11
different whichever province you're you okay but
00:38:14
because it's a standalone trailer and we
00:38:16
don't have dealerships yeah I think
00:38:18
that's why they required that inspection
00:38:20
okay so and until we you know grow to
00:38:22
the point where we have dealerships
00:38:24
which is probably very far off into the
00:38:27
future then they'll probably continue to
00:38:30
require that yeah now again that could
00:38:33
be different in different projects so
00:38:34
maybe import back that's not yeah we got
00:38:38
information
00:38:39
[Music]
00:38:41
man changed since we verified but so
00:38:45
these are two different water heaters
00:38:47
okay and you'll see these throughout the
00:38:49
process of the build process but this is
00:38:52
our standard water heater this is a 6
00:38:54
gallon suburban you see this on most of
00:38:57
your travel trailers your casita
00:38:58
probably has the same one yeah automated
00:39:02
though so we have to light the oh really
00:39:05
yeah okay so this one's old it's like a
00:39:07
2005 oh okay gotcha so this one
00:39:09
definitely has the electric option
00:39:12
option and so you can you can heat water
00:39:14
with the 110 by flipping this switch
00:39:16
okay or you can heat it with propane
00:39:19
simply by going inside the trailer
00:39:20
flipping a switch and it'll like this
00:39:23
further so very very nice standard
00:39:26
feature and I'll say this even our
00:39:28
standard features or great features
00:39:30
you'll know it so our options are just
00:39:32
really really really good yeah this is
00:39:36
the Truman instant hot water heater it's
00:39:38
tankless it's an instant and constant
00:39:41
hot water
00:39:42
this is hot water on demand okay at its
00:39:45
finest it's German engineered so it's a
00:39:47
very great product it's it definitely is
00:39:51
going to save you the time waiting for
00:39:54
that water to heat up yeah and of course
00:39:56
it has a anti freeze function as well so
00:39:59
when you're in the colder weather we
00:40:02
have this in Eco mode or comfort mode
00:40:03
you will essentially run there's water
00:40:06
in here keep things from freezing
00:40:13
[Music]
00:40:17
some of the this is gonna be your
00:40:21
basement door so from the outside of the
00:40:23
trailer you have this bring down the
00:40:25
hatch right here you open that up
00:40:27
basement door slides down got this gas
00:40:30
here you'll see more of that when we get
00:40:33
over to the young tonight when we get
00:40:42
back to the office we'll go through a
00:40:44
new trailer and all kind of showcase
00:40:47
some of them yeah
00:40:48
so you'll see here they've got different
00:40:51
tanks that they're getting prepped so
00:40:54
Jessica here is actually prepping head
00:40:57
painting and a half gallon tank right
00:41:00
here which is your black tank yeah
00:41:02
that's gonna be your waste a great day
00:41:07
all right so this is where all your grey
00:41:09
waters gonna go that's 35 and a half
00:41:10
gallons okay you can see they're
00:41:13
prepping a your stand up the pool length
00:41:16
mirror shower door
00:41:21
[Music]
00:41:26
so they're very little wood used in the
00:41:30
construction of an Oliver but others are
00:41:33
got a reasonably similar life so our
00:41:35
wood is primarily in our galley area so
00:41:37
this is where your kitchen doors on yeah
00:41:40
reach of those drawers are made from
00:41:43
poplar wood this is the same same type
00:41:45
of wood let you in your casita for your
00:41:49
your door frogs and oh yeah and you can
00:41:53
see that that's dovetail yeah so there's
00:41:55
no stapling or anything like that we
00:41:56
definitely take pride in our
00:41:59
craftsmanship about doors yet another
00:42:03
great feature about their soft close
00:42:10
drawers okay
00:42:11
amazing so now there's another thing too
00:42:14
there's a there was there's there had
00:42:16
been issues of people's drawers coming
00:42:18
open
00:42:19
yeah as they make turns and stuff like
00:42:20
that a lot of times our beers will
00:42:23
experience that it's just something that
00:42:25
depending on the type of trailer you
00:42:28
know you could have that so what we did
00:42:30
was we actually took
00:42:38
from this way
00:42:45
well I don't think they have one done
00:42:47
but we'll cover it when we get to the
00:42:48
finished unit essentially what it is
00:42:50
it's just the thing that we added this
00:42:52
year that would allow that door to push
00:42:55
in just a little bit further and it will
00:42:57
actually keep it so you have the door
00:43:01
that still has a soft close function but
00:43:03
when you get ready to travel you just
00:43:04
push it in just a little bit more and
00:43:06
it'll latch to thee and that with the
00:43:07
sharks means that it's less likely for
00:43:11
you're not gonna get to where you're
00:43:12
going
00:43:13
come inside the trailer yeah yeah you
00:43:19
definitely need that per bottle we're
00:43:21
sure that are the out pad or anything
00:43:23
yeah
00:43:24
so let's actually walk back up this way
00:43:27
well we'll make a right area we're gonna
00:43:28
go in is where they cut out all of the
00:43:31
openings for the doors and the windows
00:43:32
and things like that trim off flanges
00:43:34
and trim anything that needs to be
00:43:36
trimmed on the main parts before
00:43:44
so we're not gonna walk all the way in
00:43:46
just because it's pretty dusty anything
00:43:48
we don't need all that in our lives but
00:43:50
I just want you to kind of look around
00:43:52
you can see that the holes have been cut
00:43:53
out for the cabinets way back they've
00:43:57
got the cart full of small parts they
00:43:59
see the spare tire cover the cabinet
00:44:01
liner they're gonna trim all the flanges
00:44:03
off and make everything ready for
00:44:06
fitting it in part to the holes for the
00:44:09
cabinet liner or for the cabinets and
00:44:11
cabinet openings now one thing I want
00:44:14
you to notice is a lot of times
00:44:17
unfortunately in the RV industry you see
00:44:20
areas that are going to be covered so
00:44:23
they'll put a trim ring over that
00:44:24
obviously that they don't really take
00:44:26
the time to make sure that the cut is
00:44:27
necessarily straight okay and you see
00:44:31
that a lot but what we do is we build
00:44:33
templates for all of our cutouts so any
00:44:36
way that you see you know a cut being
00:44:38
done on here there was a template in
00:44:40
place before that cut was done all right
00:44:43
and essentially that's just a kind of a
00:44:45
rule we live by we don't like to have to
00:44:47
measure things you want everything to be
00:44:49
you know the same as it as it is on the
00:44:51
next one or okay this is the smaller
00:44:59
trailer your black tank will be sitting
00:45:01
right here this will be your bathroom
00:45:02
your toilet to be here and black same
00:45:04
could be underneath you have a vanity
00:45:06
sink a toilet paper holder seat covers
00:45:11
all have these cutouts okay so
00:45:13
everywhere your seats are gonna be
00:45:15
there's gonna be a cover right here you
00:45:17
can pick that cover up there'll be an
00:45:19
opening and then whatever is under there
00:45:21
and it just varies depending on whether
00:45:24
it's the elite or the elite two on this
00:45:26
particular model your firm this is gonna
00:45:27
be under here okay
00:45:31
and then of course on the elite to
00:45:33
you'll have a lot more storage
00:45:34
underneath that we'll go over later real
00:45:40
quick I'll show you the insulation that
00:45:42
we use all right so remember we've
00:45:46
already talked about the carpet cord
00:45:49
that they hand lay in that already has
00:45:51
one insulative fault
00:45:52
yeah then on top of that the air gap
00:45:53
between this and the lower liner which
00:45:55
again is insulative in itself but this
00:45:58
is actually the insulation we use and
00:46:00
this is the equivalent of an R 16 value
00:46:02
although it loses a little bit of that
00:46:04
because of the way we install it okay
00:46:06
but again it's just kind of overkill
00:46:09
nonetheless you've got eight on the
00:46:11
ethylene closed cell foam okay here very
00:46:14
thin it's about an eighth inch thick and
00:46:16
that is wrapped in foil on either side
00:46:18
okay so what that does is that gives you
00:46:21
a radiant barrier essentially if you're
00:46:24
if you've ever been in the structure
00:46:25
where the Sun just beaming down on one
00:46:27
side of the wall you can put your hand
00:46:29
on that wall now not only is it a
00:46:46
radiant variance of vapor barrier
00:46:48
moisture that helps it will not allow
00:46:50
water to pull up on it or reports it and
00:46:54
so water cannot Stoke into this so
00:46:56
therefore you don't have millions later
00:46:59
on now there will be as you know there's
00:47:02
slight degree of condensation but here's
00:47:04
what happens instead of like on a casita
00:47:06
or a different type of single hole
00:47:08
trailer where you get condensation on
00:47:10
the walls and stuff this condensation is
00:47:12
gonna be between that shell it's not
00:47:14
going to go into the main cabin it's all
00:47:16
going to be in that gap so with this
00:47:19
being a moisture barrier the
00:47:21
condensation will then rolled on okay of
00:47:24
the of the insulation and out one of the
00:47:27
weep holes underneath on the bottom I'm
00:47:29
not so there's going to be 13
00:47:31
strategically placed weep hole
00:47:34
better drilled into this show okay for
00:47:37
that water to evade now you're thinking
00:47:41
now okay well there's holes can't
00:47:42
rodents and things like that get in bugs
00:47:45
and stuff well we've actually went a
00:47:47
step further and screened off the hole
00:47:48
so water can go out and nothing can come
00:47:51
in that's awesome so rodents in your
00:47:54
travel trailer is not something that's
00:47:56
unwanted guess right yeah in the
00:47:58
Oliver's you would literally have to
00:48:00
invite them in the front door any other
00:48:03
way and even if they did let's just say
00:48:06
hypothetically somehow you and one did
00:48:09
run in there and going through your
00:48:12
storage and you seen him run through you
00:48:14
would notice that he was running through
00:48:16
you know trying to find a way out
00:48:17
because it's not a very hospitable place
00:48:19
for him to live that's because this
00:48:21
insulation is also a non nesting so they
00:48:24
can't actually use this for nesting and
00:48:27
things like that so it's definitely not
00:48:29
a place that our mouse wants indianians
00:48:32
even if the 50 but you'll notice that
00:48:35
the insulation is you know encapsulate
00:48:37
the entire lower shell now the upper
00:48:40
part of the trailer needs to be
00:48:42
insulated as well right so what they'll
00:48:44
do is they'll take the upper liner that
00:48:45
you see there behind you okay and that
00:48:48
will be fully insulated you'll get a
00:48:50
view of that when we go out please
00:48:53
a lot of times they're not going to be
00:48:55
able to fix that so then we'll replace
00:48:57
the panel though a lot of times just
00:48:59
total out for insurance we'll just go to
00:49:01
the trailer
00:49:02
whereas with us if you had any damage to
00:49:04
your fiberglass shell or body it's
00:49:07
something that's easy to fix
00:49:08
and it's relatively inexpensive
00:49:09
inexpensive compared to you and aluminum
00:49:12
that's wrong trailer chuck we won't name
00:49:15
any names
00:49:18
[Music]
00:49:19
so that's it this is one of the bigger
00:49:21
treasure so that's your 18 inch player -
00:49:23
Wow 18 inches of clearance amazing we'll
00:49:27
see that up close later on so if you'll
00:49:35
notice here up above you'll see these
00:49:37
signs okay
00:49:38
there's signs all throughout here and
00:49:40
they each represent a section of the
00:49:44
process so of course there's a certain
00:49:46
amount of responsibility for that
00:49:48
section to complete that task before it
00:49:50
boots on now it's not just a matter of
00:49:52
it being completed and moving on it has
00:49:55
to pass inspection
00:49:56
so our inspection process is actually
00:49:58
built in instead of it being you know
00:50:00
wait till the trailer is done and go
00:50:01
through inspect it we inspect each
00:50:03
different section before it can pass on
00:50:05
now I say that notice all the signs
00:50:10
how many inspections do we actually do
00:50:13
and then once it's done they'll do a
00:50:16
final inspection on the trailer and
00:50:19
essentially cover the prove rather heavy
00:50:21
nothing bolt and then a for sales and
00:50:24
service before they can take the trailer
00:50:25
over for delivery they have to keep
00:50:28
production on it's right so they do
00:50:30
their own inspection as well so
00:50:32
essentially you're getting an inspection
00:50:33
in every section and then two final
00:50:35
inspections before it's done okay so
00:50:41
here you'll see that we're actually
00:50:42
using light truck tires these are
00:50:44
Michelin tires
00:50:47
and these are 10 ply he rated tires so
00:50:51
they're not like your typical trailer
00:50:53
tires that you see on most other brands
00:50:56
yeah you've got a 16-inch aluminum rib
00:50:59
these tires are nitrogen fill down
00:51:02
essentially you know maintain your
00:51:03
pressure a lot better than standard
00:51:05
oxygen filled tires and essentially it
00:51:09
achieves that because nitrogen is a
00:51:11
bigger molecule then oxygen so it's less
00:51:14
chance for it that nitrogen air to
00:51:17
escape from the sidewalls of the trailer
00:51:19
we had former weather so how long can
00:51:22
you go without refilling it you can go
00:51:25
quite a while I mean there's at some
00:51:27
point you may notice that you've lost a
00:51:29
little bit but it's gonna it's gonna be
00:51:31
a lot longer than yours
00:51:33
and it's all very it really just depends
00:51:35
on you know your your climate how often
00:51:37
you traveling and things like that but
00:51:39
one of the great things is if I need to
00:51:41
put air back in here regular air say
00:51:44
it's an emergency and all I have is an
00:51:45
air compressor I can do that so then I
00:51:48
would just have to take it somewhere
00:51:49
where they do have nitrogen to have them
00:51:51
replenish that nitrogen and essentially
00:51:54
at that point they would take all of the
00:51:55
air out and refill it with pure luck
00:51:58
okay so you would empty out the nitrogen
00:52:00
refill it with air and then go and bring
00:52:02
it back and have it well here's the
00:52:04
thing you can happen an air to nitrogen
00:52:06
ratio I'm sorry so you don't have to
00:52:09
empty out the nitrogen you can just put
00:52:11
air on the tire turn it off at all
00:52:14
that's van if you want to replenish that
00:52:16
and make it you know fully nitrogen
00:52:18
again didn't you take it somewhere and
00:52:20
then walk that it's really good to know
00:52:22
I did not know that awesome
00:52:24
well I think I want to show you as far
00:52:27
as the suspension goes we didn't get to
00:52:29
look at this on the single axle trailer
00:52:30
because it's not needed but as a
00:52:32
standard feature you'll see this tandem
00:52:34
axle equalizer that you're zooming into
00:52:36
there that actually is made by Dexter
00:52:39
the same company that makes our axles
00:52:41
and it is designed to allow these two
00:52:46
axles to work independently of each
00:52:48
other and set up together so essentially
00:52:50
when you're going through you know a
00:52:52
rough road or you're getting potholes
00:52:54
and things like that
00:52:55
instead of these two axles sort of
00:52:57
jumping through that pothole they'll
00:52:58
actually just walk right definitely and
00:53:02
it's you know you can't see it obviously
00:53:03
the naked eye can't pick up on that as
00:53:05
you're traveling but if you slow that if
00:53:07
you were to take the video of this
00:53:09
trailer going through something like
00:53:10
that at ground level and then you slowed
00:53:13
it down you would literally see the
00:53:15
first tire drop into the pothole nice
00:53:17
Ray's back out of it and then the back
00:53:19
side pulling it up so it just cuts down
00:53:22
on about 80% of that road shock that
00:53:24
you're actually an absolutely good it
00:53:27
does yeah so that's and that's a
00:53:30
standard feature
00:53:31
one less thing you got to pay for
00:53:33
actually oh yeah for sure now
00:53:38
you may be able to get a shot of this
00:53:40
I'm not sure it's actually one here
00:53:42
closer as well but remember the weep
00:53:44
holes I was telling you about
00:53:45
yeah trailer now one of the unique
00:54:00
things about our trailer as well is it's
00:54:02
molded to the frame so you don't have
00:54:05
just a shell sitting flat on top of the
00:54:08
frame and actually in cases that and
00:54:12
then adjusting that frame so if you look
00:54:15
in here you'll see or eight inch
00:54:27
carriage bolt that they used to hold
00:54:29
this thing okay which doesn't seem like
00:54:33
a whole lot but if you look at where
00:54:35
they're located and then take into
00:54:36
consideration the fact that it's molded
00:54:38
through the frame it really does a good
00:54:40
job of holding it yeah that's all that's
00:54:41
needed now we've talked a little bit
00:54:46
about him look and we'll touch base on
00:54:48
this more but we talked a little bit
00:54:49
about how everything's easily accessed
00:54:51
from the inside of the trailer so if you
00:54:53
need work done you know this is gonna be
00:54:55
a technicians dream they're gonna love
00:54:56
working on this tightly because
00:54:59
everything is easy to get to our
00:55:00
schematics are very you know they're
00:55:06
kind of drawn in for the lay person to
00:55:08
read so they're not really that they're
00:55:12
not complicated to read okay but one of
00:55:15
the things I wanted to show you before
00:55:16
we get too far is what we call a tank
00:55:19
access plate okay because as I tell
00:55:22
people that I tell them how everything's
00:55:23
accessible they can believe that
00:55:24
but they say well what about if
00:55:26
something's wrong with my one of my
00:55:27
water tanks as you know the water tanks
00:55:30
laid planet in the floor there yeah and
00:55:32
we'll show you that later but if we
00:55:33
needed to remove that tank which is real
00:55:35
we only had to do it I think twice in
00:55:38
our history okay but if we did if you
00:55:42
look back here at the back part of the
00:55:47
metal plate
00:55:52
we can slide those things right out of
00:55:54
the rear of the trailer I gotta get this
00:56:04
so that's
00:56:07
that's considered a tank access place so
00:56:09
that's a tank access plate that is so
00:56:11
cool no this is gonna be where your
00:56:14
upper shell is gonna come through okay
00:56:16
then of course you have your upper liner
00:56:18
see the insulated part over there so
00:56:21
let's start with the upper shell so what
00:56:28
they're doing here is they've got the
00:56:29
upper shell and while it's very
00:56:31
ergonomic to do this lower instead of
00:56:34
having to climb a ladder or a
00:56:35
scaffolding Reshard that they can go
00:56:37
ahead and mount things like these solar
00:56:38
panels the Wi-Fi ranger antenna okay
00:56:43
this one's going to have a sail booster
00:56:45
antennas well right here they're still
00:56:48
in the process of mounting that okay
00:56:50
port your porch lights you've got LED
00:56:52
porch lights on both sides of the
00:56:54
trailer that's great heaps and then of
00:56:56
course office obviously your marker
00:56:58
lights here come over here these
00:57:05
brackets which are made in-house as well
00:57:07
these brackets are what hold up your
00:57:09
awning to this is what holds your awning
00:57:11
to the upper shelf so this year in 2019
00:57:14
we went to the Dometic awnings they're
00:57:17
actually a foot longer than the carefree
00:57:19
of Colorado awnings were used in the
00:57:20
past and we also offer a available
00:57:24
powered on again okay instead of just
00:57:26
the manual crank as an option you can
00:57:27
get ya power awning is great because
00:57:30
have the ability to leave the campsite
00:57:34
and it has a wind sensor if the wind
00:57:36
picks up come on rolling you're owning
00:57:39
you're kidding it'll do it itself oh my
00:57:41
god so we're very excited about some of
00:57:44
the new features in 2000 no kidding
00:57:47
obviously you know grab bars for coming
00:57:49
in to the trailer so this is metal and
00:58:02
that's that's definitely not going to go
00:58:04
anywhere they've actually put a on the
00:58:07
back side here you can't really see
00:58:08
unless you can maybe get that in there
00:58:14
see the backside here the boat now
00:58:20
intrusion whether it be a bolt or a
00:58:23
bracket on the roof is going to be
00:58:26
sealed very heavily because as you know
00:58:29
we are any can tell that we don't have
00:58:31
as many leaks yeah as other types of
00:58:33
trailers because it's mold and fiber
00:58:35
that's right there's not many places
00:58:37
grow well hang on what I love okay don't
00:58:40
get me wrong I love my casita no rivets
00:58:43
right don't have and speaking of that
00:58:47
you don't have rivets at your belly
00:58:49
saved okay so with your casita you know
00:58:52
you've got the two flanges they come
00:58:53
down flat together they're riveted
00:58:55
through remember I told you at the
00:58:57
beginning of the tour that we kind of
00:58:58
reverse engineered a casino yeah that
00:59:01
was one of the things that we knew right
00:59:02
off the rib that we had to get yeah so
00:59:05
what you see here is if you turn around
00:59:06
here you'll see that the construction of
00:59:09
our scene here actually just has a
00:59:11
little small radius and it goes down so
00:59:13
instead of the two flanges coming
00:59:15
together you have you know essentially a
00:59:18
blue joint and we'll go over top of the
00:59:22
lowers the lower sugar yeah
00:59:24
so it just works a little bit better so
00:59:26
the North the northern might have that
00:59:28
too yeah yeah so that's so the northern
00:59:30
lights doing a good thing yeah they're
00:59:32
definitely doing it right but like I
00:59:34
said don't that stuff will be sealing
00:59:36
with a fall marine-grade call from the
00:59:39
outside
00:59:40
and of course on the inside and how
00:59:42
often does that have to be maintained
00:59:44
the call yeah I would say you're
00:59:46
probably looking at every two to three
00:59:47
years okay you would need to look into
00:59:49
redoing some of the seals and stuff and
00:59:51
where would someone go like if someone
00:59:54
didn't want to do that work themselves
00:59:55
right where would they go to find
00:59:58
someone I could do that for them pretty
00:59:59
much anywhere that works on any type of
01:00:02
RV repair shop will be able to do that
01:00:04
okay even if they even if they mostly
01:00:07
work on different types bodies now
01:00:10
when you take it in I would definitely
01:00:12
recommend it they use something that's
01:00:13
marine grade or in other words used on
01:00:15
boats because that's what we use here
01:00:17
yeah okay and that just gives you a
01:00:19
little more longevity a little more
01:00:21
flexibility for something you're taking
01:00:22
down the road and
01:00:26
if anything you know if if all else
01:00:28
fails call us and let our service
01:00:30
manager recommend what you use yeah well
01:00:32
you know what you're doing when you go
01:00:34
in to now and also you know our service
01:00:36
manager our service department I should
01:00:37
say in general is very stellar I mean
01:00:40
they're going to make sure that you're
01:00:41
taking care of whether you're here or in
01:00:43
Quebec okay so definitely give us a call
01:00:46
first and and let us know what you got
01:00:49
going on we'll get you in touch with a
01:00:50
third-party facility that we deem
01:00:52
reputable yeah not just any you know
01:00:54
average joes yeah place we're gonna send
01:00:57
you to a place that we know we've gotten
01:00:59
good reports
01:01:00
okay we'll handle all your warranty work
01:01:02
and things like that and help you that's
01:01:05
great to know that you have the support
01:01:08
the after-sales support that's huge yeah
01:01:11
so that after social support far
01:01:13
surpasses the warranty which by the way
01:01:15
is probably haven't saved the best of
01:01:17
the business how long
01:01:18
okay so you've got a lifetime warranty
01:01:21
so that the body and shell is free of
01:01:24
manufactured eBay okay okay then of
01:01:25
course it's a five-year limited warranty
01:01:27
on the chassis so that it's for your
01:01:29
manufacturing okay and then the the
01:01:33
parts are all two-year plus there's even
01:01:35
some of them that have extended
01:01:37
warranties which they'll take care of
01:01:38
with you so make sure that you get those
01:01:40
extended warranties before you leave
01:01:42
with the trip okay great okay so we try
01:01:45
to provide you the best warranty we can
01:01:46
possibly provide you and then of course
01:01:49
if you ever go to our website and look
01:01:51
at the warranty page you'll notice that
01:01:53
there's little badges with each bar
01:01:55
warranted different warranties and then
01:01:56
there's another badge which goes back to
01:01:58
what you said it's called the lifetime
01:02:00
continual support okay and if you read
01:02:02
that it just essentially explains to you
01:02:04
that even after your warranties up
01:02:07
you're still a member of the family
01:02:08
we're very we're a very and I know
01:02:10
people like to throw that word around
01:02:11
family a lot and make it seem like it's
01:02:14
a family oriented thing but we actually
01:02:15
are I can if you look around there's
01:02:18
people out here working that are
01:02:19
Oliver's they're related to the people
01:02:22
that started this thing yeah and it's
01:02:24
very much a small family like Bank and
01:02:28
we consider our owners because we're
01:02:30
still a pretty exclusive club
01:02:33
so we very much treat you like but not
01:02:36
just that I mean you see in other styles
01:02:38
of RVs true you have you know a company
01:02:41
name and it disappears in two years
01:02:43
that's correct
01:02:44
Oliver's been around all those
01:02:46
benefactors and likely many many years
01:02:49
in the future yeah and we don't plan on
01:02:51
selling out so you know obviously I
01:02:53
can't make decisions for other big guys
01:02:55
but but I can tell you that we we plan
01:02:58
on being very you know grassroots and
01:03:00
and making sure that we're doing this
01:03:02
and putting the quality into the
01:03:03
trailers we're not gonna let somebody
01:03:05
else come in here and dictate how we
01:03:06
build the trailers for sure we're gonna
01:03:08
do it the right way and we're gonna do
01:03:09
it okay yeah that's I think that's why
01:03:12
you see so total in the building uh I
01:03:23
would venture to say there's probably
01:03:24
about 350 people I would say again 50 to
01:03:28
55 of those are just people working out
01:03:31
here on the production line you know in
01:03:34
the fiberglass area of course in the
01:03:36
cutting area and in the framework and
01:03:39
then of course that's not including the
01:03:40
people in marketing sales first thing
01:03:47
you're probably going to notice there's
01:03:48
a big slab of plywood in there yeah
01:03:50
that's actually not a part of the build
01:03:52
they're just putting that in there so
01:03:54
that they can prevent walking on the
01:03:55
tanks as much as possible so they walk
01:03:57
on the correct threat but if I lift this
01:04:01
up just a little bit I can show you
01:04:02
there's a fresh tank under there your
01:04:05
gray tank is on the other side okay that
01:04:08
fresh tank is a 32 and a half gallon
01:04:10
tank you can see it has the overflow
01:04:12
tube that comes and of course you see
01:04:22
the water lines and the wiring harness
01:04:24
all being ran in one of the things
01:04:31
really kind of showcase is you see she's
01:04:34
actually back there installing the water
01:04:37
heater right now finishing up on that
01:04:39
and of course the furnace on the other
01:04:41
side and you see the ductwork coming off
01:04:44
with the furnace right there on the left
01:04:46
side there and that's going to run from
01:04:48
the rear of the trailer all the way up
01:04:50
here to the bathroom where there's
01:04:52
another heater vent so there's two
01:04:55
heater vents in the main cabin and then
01:04:57
there's one in the bathroom so
01:04:59
essentially that warm air coming through
01:05:00
those that ductwork yeah it's going to
01:05:03
keep everything warm underneath the
01:05:05
trailer yeah so if you're warm inside
01:05:06
the main cabin you can rest assured that
01:05:08
everything underneath that you know the
01:05:11
floor you know subfloor is gonna be
01:05:14
warmest and the bathroom too absolutely
01:05:16
yeah so not only do you have the
01:05:18
construction and the build that's
01:05:19
keeping everything warm in those winter
01:05:21
months but you also have just the sheer
01:05:23
function of it yeah it's allowing
01:05:25
everything to be heated as it's been
01:05:27
used yeah so essentially if you're
01:05:29
inside the camper using it and you've
01:05:31
got that furnace running you're not
01:05:32
gonna have any problems with frozen
01:05:33
pipes or anything like that yeah and
01:05:35
then of course when you store it if you
01:05:37
store it outside I would I would
01:05:39
definitely recommend that you winterize
01:05:41
the toilet right yeah but the
01:05:42
winterization process for this trailer
01:05:44
is super easy and we've got a nice
01:05:46
detailed video on our website that we're
01:05:48
walking right through so we definitely
01:05:50
try to make sure we have instructional
01:05:51
videos things like that and one of the
01:05:56
things you'll notice which right now
01:05:57
it's hard to tell because she's actually
01:05:58
still working but when that's all said
01:06:00
and done when that's ready to go you'll
01:06:03
notice that a lot of the wires and
01:06:06
plumbing and stuff like that when you
01:06:07
look inside those access hatches it's
01:06:10
very neat you're not gonna see a rat's
01:06:12
nest of wires he's gonna be very neat
01:06:14
strapped and lube and easy to access and
01:06:17
kind of out of the way yeah
01:06:22
this area here is actually this is the
01:06:26
blue station so this is where it's going
01:06:28
to start to come together as a training
01:06:31
essentially what they do here is they're
01:06:35
going to take what we call the bubble
01:06:37
which I don't have an example of other
01:06:39
than the one that's actually already in
01:06:40
the shell but essentially it's gonna be
01:06:42
that upper liner and that lower liner
01:06:45
combined okay and glued together so
01:06:48
that's going to be your inner hole you
01:06:57
notice the difference in shape now on
01:06:59
the top as its rounded off yeah that's
01:07:02
because they've added those cabinet
01:07:03
liners to where those recesses would
01:07:07
make sure all the wiring harnesses were
01:07:09
right on top they set it down into the
01:07:12
trailer now that seems pretty cut and
01:07:15
dry okay we lift it we set it down in
01:07:16
but you can imagine there's a lot of
01:07:18
different things that we have to think
01:07:20
about them to do it you have to run the
01:07:22
propane lines through small holes so
01:07:25
that they you know get into the trailer
01:07:27
yeah we also have to make sure that
01:07:29
we're not inching any wires
01:07:31
yeah we're not pitching any water lines
01:07:32
yeah nothing's getting crushed so it's
01:07:35
very meticulous how they do it but we've
01:07:38
netted eat look as easy as we can for
01:07:40
them by putting things where they need
01:07:41
to go so everything has a place
01:07:43
nothing's ever out of place yeah so
01:07:46
completely lower down to that shell
01:07:48
without damaging
01:07:52
what
01:08:00
okay so remember we talked about the
01:08:02
difference in the plans say a casita and
01:08:05
different types of trailers you have
01:08:07
that overlap well this plans will
01:08:09
obviously all be cut off and then it'll
01:08:11
look like this
01:08:13
it'll be beveled here okay so you see
01:08:16
this is the glue joint now you'll see
01:08:21
the air gap here but this isn't the
01:08:24
biggest that that gap will be obviously
01:08:26
the the biggest area that gaps gonna be
01:08:28
is right here on any flat spot okay yeah
01:08:32
and of course we're tapers off on the
01:08:34
different radiuses that's where you
01:08:36
start to see that gap run down but for
01:08:40
right now they need that glue to set up
01:08:42
that glue is still curing so if you get
01:08:46
a good shot right down here you'll see
01:08:48
how thick that area is of glue joint
01:08:51
yeah so they've got this bar clamped all
01:08:54
the way down here to make sure that when
01:08:55
it's all said and done there's no waves
01:08:57
okay everything nice and true so what
01:09:05
they've done is their glue joints are
01:09:07
you know you've got it around the belly
01:09:08
band but there's also what one ran on
01:09:10
the support beam right between the two
01:09:12
tanks and then on the top if you notice
01:09:15
the trolley top section there or if you
01:09:18
look at this one here it's probably
01:09:19
easier to see there's no insulation
01:09:21
there that's because they're gonna run a
01:09:23
bead of glue there that's not a being
01:09:25
one another glue one so then once this
01:09:30
is done don't bring one of the upper
01:09:32
shelves over and big voice you see here
01:09:36
that's actually got the bubble attached
01:09:39
to it still yeah with the chain that
01:09:41
will pick up the upper shell and set the
01:09:44
shell down over the top of it so this
01:09:46
would be the next one to get the show
01:09:49
they keep everything level as they're
01:09:51
doing that and see if they got the
01:09:52
Levellers under me make sure that when
01:09:54
they put the show on and the glue dries
01:09:56
they don't get the trailer over there
01:09:58
and realize that it's crooked oh yeah
01:10:01
kind of important
01:10:07
[Music]
01:10:12
so this area here is the electric
01:10:15
station
01:10:16
we've got electric one and electric two
01:10:18
electric one is going to park the
01:10:21
trailer right here they're gonna bring
01:10:22
the scaffolding pull it up to the right
01:10:24
up to the trailer
01:10:25
they'll harness in they'll get up on top
01:10:27
and they'll mount things like your AC
01:10:29
your max air fan anything that they
01:10:32
didn't already have mounted so
01:10:34
essentially the things that really need
01:10:35
to be wired in and set perfectly they'll
01:10:38
do that once it's moved from there to
01:10:41
electric to don't go ahead and finish
01:10:44
hooking up all of the different
01:10:45
electrical components so this is going
01:10:48
to be where all of your it just pops out
01:10:53
okay but if you can zoom in here they'll
01:10:57
see things like the solar charge
01:11:00
controller the stereo speakers the TV
01:11:04
the maxxair fan the air conditioner all
01:11:09
that stuff will be wired in now and it's
01:11:12
essentially because of the harness the
01:11:14
way the harness has been laid out
01:11:16
everything just plug and play everything
01:11:19
in make sure that it works once they've
01:11:21
done a complete functionality test for
01:11:23
all of the electrical components so do
01:11:25
what's on a dielectric strength test
01:11:26
essentially for a hi contest essentially
01:11:32
they're going to charge the whole unit
01:11:33
up and make sure that there's no shorts
01:11:35
or ground fault or anything like that
01:11:37
grounding issues any kind of wiring
01:11:40
issues that they could potentially have
01:11:41
will be checked for with that 110 and
01:11:44
then of course if they have issues that
01:11:45
can immediately identify those and fix
01:11:48
the issues if not it's good to go
01:11:50
these are tests that are required by
01:11:52
Harvey ia so it's not just stuff we're
01:11:55
doing it's actually you know for our own
01:11:56
sake it's stuff that we're doing to
01:11:59
satisfy codes
01:12:04
this here is this is your propeller so
01:12:08
if you want to turn this thing into a
01:12:09
boat or an airplane it just matters how
01:12:11
yes please depends on which way you're
01:12:13
facing okay no actually this is the
01:12:16
spare tire mount so because your spare
01:12:19
tire is going to be the same size and
01:12:22
same rim as your tires and wheels that
01:12:25
are on there this needs to be pretty
01:12:28
beefy no kidding so we built this with
01:12:31
designed and built this very sturdy
01:12:33
aluminum holder and then of course
01:12:36
you'll have a fiberglass cover this of
01:12:40
course will go to the wiring or the or
01:12:43
the license plate light oh yeah okay
01:12:47
here's an example of one of those
01:12:49
propane quick connects mountains okay
01:12:51
now one thing you can't see here but
01:12:53
you'll notice later on is that this
01:12:56
whole area right here there will be a
01:12:57
floor here no limp brushed aluminum
01:12:59
floor and then a diamond plate cover
01:13:02
that goes over this then of course your
01:13:04
bumper will be here and remember that
01:13:06
whole town holds up so one of the big
01:13:10
concerns when you're camping especially
01:13:12
doing campground Southampton is emptying
01:13:16
your waist right so here's your waist
01:13:19
cap it's pretty standard small Tara this
01:13:22
is a company that next up for pretty
01:13:24
much every RV out there on the road but
01:13:28
the difference here is I can now hook up
01:13:30
my waist hose my flexible lace toes
01:13:32
right
01:13:33
and once I hook it up here that's it I
01:13:35
don't have to continue to do that every
01:13:37
single time because I can just roll that
01:13:39
hose up cappen off and store it in here
01:13:42
that's a perfect angle once this is the
01:13:43
finished storage area you'll notice that
01:13:46
it's perfect size for storing it so and
01:13:48
last step and also you have story
01:13:50
absolutely which is Amino now here's the
01:13:52
thing when I store that there this is
01:13:55
now a contaminated storage area for sure
01:13:57
absolutely
01:13:58
but if I opted for the composting toilet
01:14:01
then I don't have to use this for my
01:14:03
waste and now this becomes added storage
01:14:05
for anything that's amazing
01:14:07
so it's really a win-win depending on
01:14:10
which regardless of which toilet you
01:14:12
yeah
01:14:14
what do you think the percentages of
01:14:16
people that want the composting
01:14:19
okay so win it when we first started to
01:14:21
offer the composting toilet it was very
01:14:23
bleak it was very much not enough
01:14:25
research done on it not from us but from
01:14:27
from there yeah so they were kind of
01:14:30
unsure about it but what we've done is
01:14:32
we've actually tried to research you
01:14:33
know the complete process so not just
01:14:36
the toothy toilet itself but the
01:14:38
composting process so aerobic
01:14:40
respiration is the process of
01:14:42
competition so we try to get ourselves
01:14:45
enough knowledge of that so when people
01:14:47
ask us we can you know confidently tell
01:14:51
them how easy it is to operate that
01:14:53
composter yeah so since we started doing
01:14:55
that we've seen an uptick in it so you
01:14:58
know you hear the the term upselling of
01:15:00
course any sales person is gonna try to
01:15:01
sell you the best product I have because
01:15:03
obviously it's more money coming in
01:15:05
together but we're so old low pressure
01:15:07
sales here we don't really we're not
01:15:09
trying to make a buck off of you
01:15:11
we're going to tell you what we think is
01:15:13
going to be important for your style of
01:15:15
camping so obviously these are decisions
01:15:17
you're gonna make but we'll give you the
01:15:19
the information that you need to make
01:15:21
that decision
01:15:22
since we started offering that
01:15:24
information up about that composting
01:15:26
toilet and doing our own research we've
01:15:28
seen that go up quite a bit so I would
01:15:31
say percentage-wise you're probably
01:15:32
looking at 50/50 right now really really
01:15:37
that is so amazing I would have figured
01:15:40
10 percent well no exit well when we
01:15:42
started it was more like 10 or 20
01:15:44
percent but I'm saying 50/50 now I think
01:15:46
that in the in the coming months we're
01:15:49
gonna see that number go up because it's
01:15:51
really just people are the people that
01:15:53
are gravitating towards Oliver are
01:15:55
people that typically like to boondock
01:15:56
and yeah right
01:15:58
so that toilet makes so much sense for
01:16:00
big doggy even if i bypass telling you
01:16:03
everything I do every great feature
01:16:04
about it I can tell you one thing
01:16:06
boondocking I'm gonna be able to use
01:16:08
that thing sixty to eighty times okay
01:16:10
before I have to hip to that all right
01:16:12
it's easy enough to empty you can use
01:16:15
the compost as long as you let it
01:16:17
respirate longer you can actually use
01:16:20
that for a garden or
01:16:22
just fertilize your trees at home really
01:16:24
long okay but 6280 uses allows me to
01:16:29
stay out for three weeks to a month a
01:16:31
lot average okay wear a black tank even
01:16:34
an eighteen and a half gallon you know
01:16:37
for fantasy all no blacks a whole lot
01:16:39
you can use that probably a week two
01:16:41
weeks before you have to get to that
01:16:43
flag yeah
01:16:44
so if you want to go out and be out for
01:16:46
a long period of time and you don't want
01:16:48
to have to be finding a dump station or
01:16:50
standing in line and a dump station and
01:16:52
you're busy or seasons then I would
01:16:54
recommend getting that compass well
01:17:01
here's the thing we're gonna provide the
01:17:03
black tank even if you get the
01:17:05
composting toilet so that'll be there
01:17:06
just like you know same concept as
01:17:10
everything else you know we're going to
01:17:12
give you the wiring harness in same way
01:17:14
all the backup lights of subway tanks
01:17:16
will all be there so if you get the
01:17:18
composting toilet you still have that
01:17:19
tank there now because of our BIA
01:17:22
coating and things like that we can't
01:17:24
legally do any modifications to that
01:17:28
tank to create extra storage for gray
01:17:30
water some people even want to divert
01:17:33
that black tank or diverted urine from
01:17:36
you know drill through the jug and make
01:17:39
that urine go down into the black tank
01:17:41
so it's just liquid only yeah those are
01:17:43
things that can be modified very easily
01:17:45
as a deal DIY project yeah but we can't
01:17:48
do it Connie
01:17:49
so and if we could we definitely would
01:17:51
satisfy that need
01:17:52
we get that question quite a bit and I
01:17:55
biggest thing is look go on our forums
01:17:57
on our website pose that question
01:17:59
chances are somebody out there's already
01:18:01
done it and make it out and they will
01:18:03
show you how and they're very happy to
01:18:05
do that I think one of the unique things about
01:18:07
our trailers is not our trailer it's
01:18:11
it's our people that own these wraps
01:18:12
it's our family because they're so
01:18:15
willing to show their trailers off we
01:18:18
don't have to deal with ships across country we have to rely on ambassador
01:18:21
to to show this product yeah you know
01:18:23
short of coming here for the plant tour
01:18:25
which you guys have done we appreciate
01:18:27
that you could you know check out a
01:18:29
trailer on the road somewhere in your
01:18:31
area and they will you know give you an
01:18:34
open house and answer any question to
01:18:36
you yeah so just like that we have that
01:18:37
forum where people are eager to help you
01:18:40
do modifications figure out an issue
01:18:43
troubleshoot something recommend things
01:18:46
to recommend campsites I mean there's
01:18:48
just so many different topics that you
01:18:50
can cover on that board and everybody is
01:18:53
very eager to help Oh smart it's
01:18:55
completely uncensored yeah you know
01:18:57
unbiased opinions from from people that
01:19:00
are out there in the field and it's not
01:19:01
just owners it's people that are
01:19:03
prospective on it yeah people that own
01:19:04
airstreams
01:19:05
yeah and they're very diehard Israel so
01:19:07
that's where I think you know you good
01:19:19
yeah the the army community and
01:19:21
especially the fiberglass community
01:19:23
their molded fiberglass community
01:19:25
they're so tight knit and everyone's so
01:19:26
willing to help each other absolutely
01:19:28
love it and I definitely noticed that
01:19:30
when I went to that bolo rally in
01:19:31
Winnipeg because you know we were
01:19:34
definitely that minority there yeah
01:19:37
mostly bowlers but there was also a lot
01:19:39
of other Canadian side through escape
01:19:41
and Bigfoot truly am there were
01:19:43
trilliums trillium I you know I had not
01:19:46
seen a trillium until I would and I'll
01:19:49
tell you I was very impressed with what
01:19:51
but it was there was a lot of casitas as
01:19:55
well yeah we actually convoy up with a
01:19:56
few casinos so it definitely is a
01:19:59
tight-knit community and I think that
01:20:01
people that own father glass shredders
01:20:02
know what they have yeah and it's out
01:20:04
it's anytime I get a chance to get some
01:20:08
fiberglass people together and talk to
01:20:11
some Airstream people it's a it's a good
01:20:13
opportunity to kind of explain to them
01:20:15
the benefits of them yeah
01:20:18
although this window also yeah because
01:20:21
it's a it's an emergency exit
01:20:23
what so this is thermal and it's dual
01:20:26
pane so that's good for noise noise
01:20:29
barrier and temperature no those
01:20:34
actually just slide so you have the
01:20:37
sliding windows and then of course the
01:20:38
sliding screen as well one thing that I
01:20:40
like about the pop-up it's when it's
01:20:42
raining sure so so what we've seen
01:20:48
people do that come back then is we've
01:20:50
seen people actually modified okay we do
01:20:55
a lot of the funny thing is is most most
01:20:58
of our owners right now and you got to
01:21:00
think we're we've got maybe four hundred
01:21:03
and six more than seven most of the
01:21:10
heart I should say most a lot of our
01:21:12
owners are like the engineer type you
01:21:15
know they're in the engineering in some
01:21:17
form or fashion so they're always adding
01:21:20
things to the trailer and modifying it
01:21:21
yeah they're liking and one of the
01:21:23
things is on
01:21:28
great couple by the name of Bruce and
01:21:30
Cheryl North have developed an on him
01:21:32
for this these windows that is just
01:21:35
burping it is so genius ski and they
01:21:37
offer that up on the on the floor how to
01:21:40
make them and everything is very it's
01:21:43
very inexpensive and easy to make the
01:21:45
audience and they're very clean they
01:21:47
look nice
01:21:48
they almost look like
01:21:52
six volt AGM is made by Trojan one of
01:21:54
the best names in the business okay so
01:21:57
these four batteries fit in here Brooke
01:22:01
and they just slide in and out Brooke
01:22:04
that's great and and yeah I mean you
01:22:07
already have the solar panels there it's
01:22:11
like there's like there's nothing to do
01:22:14
it's already done and so we were in
01:22:19
Georgia I wanna see rally and I was
01:22:21
speaking with an owner of a casita very
01:22:23
proud of his trailer brought me in very
01:22:25
hospitable showed me his trailer he done
01:22:28
he had done some very cool things to the
01:22:29
trailer even had a stained-glass window
01:22:31
which I thought was cool it was custom
01:22:33
for him and his wife
01:22:34
long story there but but anyway he just
01:22:37
showed me the different features and one
01:22:40
of the things he one of the gripes now
01:22:42
this is how he hacked into Oliver and
01:22:44
one of the things that he did not like
01:22:46
photo trailer was that he couldn't buy a
01:22:48
trailer and and immediately start
01:22:50
modifying it to his liking because
01:22:53
everything had already been done yeah
01:22:55
there was really nothing he could do
01:22:57
that would make his casita better than
01:22:59
the next okay or you know he's a handy
01:23:02
guy he wants project exactly right and
01:23:04
he was one of those engineer type people
01:23:06
as well and he loved his projects so I
01:23:09
think then it kind of turned some people
01:23:11
off in that in that sense if they liked
01:23:13
projects ability but listen there's
01:23:15
still a lot of different things you can
01:23:16
do with this trip
01:23:17
[Music]
01:23:18
now you know that that section has been
01:23:21
winterized it's pretty so again the
01:23:22
winterization process is very easy your
01:23:25
hand pump these two and then the black
01:23:28
tank flush in the front but the inlet on
01:23:30
the backside that we'll talk about a
01:23:32
little later is which most people
01:23:34
consider the winterization inland it's
01:23:36
really just a winterize that section of
01:23:38
plumbing but it does it does so using
01:23:41
the pump on the the on-board pump so
01:23:43
you'll turn on the pump and it will suck
01:23:45
that antifreeze right into the line but
01:23:49
that Inlet has actually primarily
01:23:50
considered a good document the reason
01:23:53
being is because it gives you a chance
01:23:55
to remotely fill up your tank so let's
01:23:57
say you're going on a trip somewhere and
01:23:59
you know you're gonna be off the grid
01:24:00
for a while obviously you're probably
01:24:02
going to take some water with yeah I'm
01:24:04
refresh tank before you leave you'll
01:24:06
fill your fresh tank in your because
01:24:10
they don't typically like to drive with
01:24:12
water in this an attendee like the way
01:24:15
our tanks are laying out in the trailers
01:24:16
are mounted right over the axle very low
01:24:18
over that floor
01:24:19
they're very long and slender okay so
01:24:22
what that provides you with is instead
01:24:24
of having a big tank on one side of the
01:24:26
trailer that's more of a square box full
01:24:29
of water
01:24:30
okay when you're going down the road you
01:24:32
don't actually realize that you have
01:24:34
water on board you don't feel the
01:24:36
difference yeah and my experiences I
01:24:38
fooled with and without water I've never
01:24:40
felt like having water on board was
01:24:43
causing and swaying to the drum yeah but
01:24:47
the cool thing about this Inlet let's
01:24:49
come over out here I'll show you
01:24:52
so this is that boondocking water inlet
01:24:57
here the cool thing about that is I can
01:25:00
hook up a 30 gallon water bladder or
01:25:03
even just a five-gallon bucket put a
01:25:05
cutoff hose to that bucket or just a
01:25:08
connection hose to that ladder and go in
01:25:11
and turn on my water pump and turn some
01:25:13
valves to a certain direction I can pump
01:25:15
water into my first tank once I've
01:25:16
depleted that that's an inside the water
01:25:18
so well thought of and you know if you
01:25:20
had a sophisticated enough purification
01:25:24
filter here I could suck water out of a
01:25:26
screen
01:25:28
now continues it well you know what
01:25:30
I mean if I partners you definitely have
01:25:33
to be pretty close
01:25:37
[Music]
01:25:41
quick connect as well so when you order
01:25:44
that package you get to yeah you're the
01:25:46
one in the front and the one in the back
01:25:47
I'm still amazed at how much clearance
01:25:49
and all this is unbelievable
01:25:54
look at that clearance
01:26:01
[Music]
01:26:02
that's awesome
01:26:04
what our report on the other side of the
01:26:06
trailer has an option
01:26:07
let's just thought of convenience for
01:26:09
them how do you store this yeah does it
01:26:15
have like the reel on it or something
01:26:22
it's a 2005 it's pretty low tech okay so
01:26:27
this one you would unhook it from here
01:26:31
you just turn this power lock and turn
01:26:33
that a quarter turn pull that out okay
01:26:35
then you would just take it roll it up
01:26:42
some other type of storage you can use
01:26:44
that you could put that in the back of
01:26:45
your truck if you have a composting
01:26:50
toilet back there absolutely good yeah
01:26:52
sure
01:26:53
you get put all your hoses in forward
01:27:05
oh my god this is going on my vision
01:27:09
board that's it huh again
01:27:16
maintenance-free battery so essentially
01:27:18
the only time I'm really opening this is
01:27:20
to check my straps and to check my nuts
01:27:23
here on the post and of course you see
01:27:26
the quality mark that they put on each
01:27:27
one to ensure that you're not it's over
01:27:31
you know you're not none of them are loose or you don't over
01:27:33
tighten them and this is all ready for
01:27:35
solar right that's correct
01:27:44
now if somebody wanted lithium that's
01:27:47
something you guys could provide or no
01:27:49
that's all right now we don't okay
01:27:52
but I think that our heart our wiring
01:27:54
harness and everything would support
01:27:55
that but you would have to get a
01:27:57
different inverter and make some changes
01:28:01
it's something that our research
01:28:03
development team is looking at pretty
01:28:05
heavily right now because of the demand
01:28:07
for it yeah and also lithium's coming
01:28:09
down in price quite a bit is and that's
01:28:10
what I think we're waiting for it's kind
01:28:12
of a catch up to that that that price
01:28:14
point but I would venture to say that
01:28:17
you know this is just my theory I think
01:28:20
that within the next year or so we may
01:28:22
be offering with it but you can't take
01:28:24
that to the bank cuz yeah yeah yeah you
01:28:26
never know yeah but if people are asking
01:28:29
for it but it's definitely in high
01:28:31
demand and I know that they're looking
01:28:32
into but then once the trailer gets down
01:28:39
here to actually start to install the
01:28:41
graphics that you've seen is it possible
01:28:44
to have it without the graphics it is
01:28:46
yeah you can order it without anything
01:28:47
we've had people order the trailers
01:28:50
without any graphics and then they
01:28:52
wouldn't put a complete wrap okay
01:29:13
you
