Greece of modern Greece reminds a lot
00:01:21
of the distant distant past
00:01:24
and ancient Greece, famous for its
00:01:27
heroes and its great scientists,
00:01:30
ruins tell about that time
00:01:31
that is, the ruined ancient cities of the
00:01:34
temples of the fortresses of the capital of Greece, Athens,
00:01:38
on a high hill stands the main of the
00:01:40
ancient buildings, the Parthenon, this is a
00:01:43
majestic temple built in honor of the
00:01:45
goddess Athena, the powerful goddess Athena
00:01:49
was considered the patroness of the
00:01:51
city, the defender of the center of Athens, you can
00:01:55
see the beautiful parliament building, the
00:01:57
elected deputies of the people work here,
00:02:01
this reminds us that it was in
00:02:04
Greece in ancient times that democracy was born,
00:02:06
the power of the people, the people for the first time
00:02:10
began to choose their representatives to
00:02:12
govern the state,
00:02:14
today in front of the parliament building in a
00:02:16
guard of honor they are
00:02:17
aging guardsmen in national costumes,
00:02:20
hundreds of tourists gather here to
00:02:23
watch the solemn ceremony of the changing of the
00:02:26
guard
00:02:27
Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games,
00:02:31
the first games were held here in
00:02:33
ancient times, now in Greece the
00:02:36
Olympic torch is lit from the rays of the sun,
00:02:37
then it is delivered to the city
00:02:41
where the next Olympic
00:02:43
Games are held in Athens there is a stadium where the
00:02:46
first Olympic Games of modern times were held more than 100 years ago
00:02:49
on the map it is clearly visible that
00:02:52
Greece is a country of islands and part of them
00:02:55
are islands corfu tried rhodes and
00:02:59
many others
00:03:02
italy this country is easy to find on the map with
00:03:05
its outline it looks like a boot
00:03:09
the capital of italy rome a very ancient city
00:03:13
reminds of this grandiose
00:03:15
half destroyed from time to time
00:03:17
construction in the center of rome the colosseum
00:03:20
it was built almost 2000 years ago in the
00:03:23
center there was an arena around
00:03:27
which there were rows for spectators, there
00:03:30
were bloody performances,
00:03:32
people in the arena fought among themselves and with
00:03:35
animals, bulls,
00:03:37
lions and even ostriches, and fights
00:03:41
between animals now these fights
00:03:43
would seem very cruel to us,
00:03:46
but in those days they were a common
00:03:48
sight Rome is a very beautiful city here there are
00:03:53
many fountains and palaces in Rome, the
00:03:55
state city of the Vatican is located,

ruled by the Pope in Italy,

for example, the city of Pisa is famous for its

leaning tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is
00:04:12
tilted so that it seems as if it is about to
00:04:15
fall, the

it is located on the shore of a large
00:04:39
picturesque bay, nearby there is the
00:04:41
famous volcano Vesuvius,
