00:00:22
Mozart and Beethoven did not even dream of
00:00:25
such an
00:00:26
instrument, the main thing is that you
00:00:28
can
00:00:32
come up with new timbres Hello
00:00:35
my dears, you are surprised, it turns out that your
00:00:38
Violeta Modesta is not so
00:00:40
conservative. I’ll tell you a secret. I’ve
00:00:44
been interested in synthesizers for a long time. After all, they open up
00:00:47
unlimited possibilities of searches and
00:00:50
discoveries, which is exactly what we are with you today and
00:00:54
sit
00:00:58
comfortably in
00:01:01
music this letter was sent to us by Alexey
00:01:05
Prigozhin from
00:01:07
St. Petersburg I would like to know
00:01:09
more about electronic musical
00:01:11
instruments when they appeared Good
00:01:16
question the modern world my friends
00:01:19
is full of electronic
00:01:23
sounds Hello mom mom I'll call you back
00:01:27
mom I'll call you back I'm sorry,
00:01:30
but it wasn't always the case that electronic
00:01:33
musical instruments are the youngest in
00:01:36
the history of mankind, and if we
00:01:38
say the age of a flute is more than 10,000 years, then the
00:01:42
oldest electronic instrument is less than
00:01:46
a hundred. The main instrument thanks to
00:01:49
which electronic music appeared is a
00:01:53
synthesizer keyboard synthesizer
00:01:56
electromusical a sound instrument in
00:01:58
which the Vute was created; generation of
00:02:00
electrical signals; their transformation
00:02:03
and amplification; and the history of the synthesizer.
00:02:06
Strangely enough, the invention of the telegraph began
00:02:10
back in
00:02:11
1832. Russian inventor Pavel
00:02:14
Lvovich Schiling demonstrated the
00:02:17
world's first telegraph apparatus with the help of
00:02:20
which it was possible to transmit
00:02:21
electrical signals over a distance A in
00:02:26
1876 In 1997, the American Izo
00:02:31
invented a musical telegraph with a piano
00:02:34
keyboard in two octaves and a built-in
00:02:39
speaker with this device. Gray wanted
00:02:42
to show the possibilities of electricity, he
00:02:45
could not even imagine that he had invented a musical
00:02:48
instrument that would give impetus to the
00:02:51
emergence of a completely new direction in
00:02:54
[music] and
00:02:58
in
00:03:00
97, another American inventor
00:03:04
Taus Cahill created the
00:03:07
larni, this electric musical instrument
00:03:10
is considered the prototype of modern
00:03:14
synthesizers, the most amazing thing is that
00:03:17
it weighed 200 tons and most of the weight
00:03:21
came from
00:03:23
145 Dynamo machines, it’s hard to even
00:03:27
imagine the studio in which this instrument was located,
00:03:30
but you and I, my friends,
00:03:33
can be proud that one of the very
00:03:36
first synthesizers were designed by our
00:03:39
compatriot Lev Sergeevich Theremin,
00:03:43
his brainchild he called
00:03:46
theremin the term Wok, an electromusical
00:03:49
instrument created in
00:03:51
1919, playing the term Vose, the musician
00:03:55
changes the distance from his hands to the
00:03:57
antennas of the instrument, they
00:04:00
change and therefore the sound frequency changes,
00:04:04
the most amazing thing is that
00:04:08
it was possible to play the Theremin without even
00:04:10
touching it. It’s also interesting that
00:04:13
initially theremin came up with his device
00:04:16
not for creating music but as a
00:04:19
security
00:04:21
alarm in
00:04:24
1921. A young physicist and
00:04:28
musician cream to look at his
00:04:32
wonderful invention theremin Vol in the
00:04:34
office with a box equipped with two
00:04:38
antennas, he hid the device behind a flowerpot
00:04:41
with a flower and asked one soldier to
00:04:44
approach the vase, as soon as he
00:04:47
approached there was a sharp sound at that
00:04:51
time, it was
00:04:53
a sensation, then the theremin began waving his
00:04:57
hands over the box with antennas and suddenly
00:05:00
everyone heard a tremulous melody, as if
00:05:02
someone was singing in a trembling voice, there
00:05:06
was no limit to surprise And now thanks to
00:05:10
computer technology, you and I
00:05:12
will be able to hear the sound of the first electric
00:05:15
organ, the
00:05:24
Handa organ was designed in 1935 by the
00:05:28
American Tel Lawrence
00:05:31
Hammond, the sounds in the Hammond organ were made by
00:05:35
rotating disks, each such disk
00:05:43
generated a note using a separate
00:05:47
electric motor, and the tempo could be
00:05:50
changed by adding up to the main
00:05:52
tone eight additional
00:05:55
overtones But it was not yet a real
00:05:58
synthesizer;
00:06:00
such an instrument was designed in the late
00:06:02
sixties by the English engineer
00:06:06
Robert
00:06:07
Mook. Since then, synthesizers
00:06:11
have been constantly improved; they even learned
00:06:13
to synthesize fantastically unreal
00:06:17
[music]
00:06:28
sounds; synthesizers began to imitate
00:06:31
acoustic instruments so
00:06:33
accurately that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish the sound well Let's
00:06:36
say a real saxophone from its
00:06:39
synthesizer
00:06:47
counterpart. In recent years,
00:06:50
musicians have been armed with workstations
00:06:52
in addition to the synthesizer, these instruments
00:06:55
have built-in samplers, sequencers, rhythm
00:06:59
machines and other devices, and yet no matter how
00:07:03
highly technology develops, they
00:07:06
cannot replace the talent and soul that
00:07:09
the musician puts into his
00:07:13
works Oh, how I love receiving
00:07:16
new fresh letters, I’ll read this.
00:07:21
Please tell me where unusual sounds come from in cartoons
00:07:24
and science fiction films
00:07:27
and the music is written by Arm
00:07:31
Chumakov from the city of
00:07:34
Dnepropetrovsk Yes Artyom, you’re right, not
00:07:37
every sound can be extracted on
00:07:39
traditional instruments, and it’s
00:07:43
hard to imagine modern cinema without
00:07:45
electronic music But once upon a time it
00:07:48
was silent, people watched films under the
00:07:52
terrifying roar
00:07:54
of a film projector with
00:07:58
a note to the musical accompaniment of
00:08:02
torus taper from the French top clap
00:08:06
knock, that was the name of the pianist
00:08:08
who accompanied the playing of silent films at the
00:08:11
beginning of the 20th century. As the years passed, the
00:08:15
technology gradually improved and it became
00:08:18
possible to record sound On film in
00:08:22
old films, symphony orchestras most often sounded.
00:08:24
And not only in
00:08:27
films but also in cartoons, the instruments of a
00:08:30
symphony orchestra convey every
00:08:32
movement, every emotion of
00:08:36
the characters. But when they began
00:08:39
to film the books of
00:08:41
science fiction writers, then
00:08:44
difficulties arose, such as conveying the
00:08:46
atmosphere of the distant future or events
00:08:49
on on another planet, alas, the expressive
00:08:54
means of the orchestra were no longer enough, but then
00:08:57
the regime came to the rescue and synthesizers, with
00:09:01
their help, it was now possible to create a
00:09:03
completely unrealistic fantastic
00:09:06
environment in our country in
00:09:09
1958, engineer Evgeniy Murzin
00:09:13
developed the original photoelectronic
00:09:16
synthesizer
00:09:18
ANS, he named it in honor of the great
00:09:20
Russian composer Alexander
00:09:22
Nikolaich
00:09:24
Scriabin This device, together with
00:09:26
electricity, used light;
00:09:29
the composer drew different pictures on special glass,
00:09:31
and the device
00:09:40
reads; voiced with unusual voices
00:09:43
of synthesizers,
00:09:49
listen. Nowadays,
00:09:52
when composers write music for films, they most often
00:09:55
use both acoustic and electronic
00:09:59
in combination with each other
00:10:01
[music ] friend,
00:10:04
another question from Nikolaeva
00:10:07
Anastasia Viktorovna from Orel.
00:10:11
Please advise what is better to buy a
00:10:13
synthesizer or a digital
00:10:17
piano for your daughter to practice. Let me tell you. What is the
00:10:20
difference between a synthesizer and a digital piano?
00:10:24
And you can decide for yourself which is
00:10:26
more suitable for your daughter.
00:10:29
So, a modern synthesizer is an
00:10:32
instrument which has a large
00:10:35
number of timbres built in, these are like timbres that
00:10:38
imitate the sound of real
00:10:41
acoustic instruments. For example,
00:10:46
[music]
00:10:49
of an accordion can imitate a piano,
00:10:52
guitar, flute, saxophone, as well as
00:10:55
fantastic purely synthesizer timbres and
00:11:01
[music]
00:11:07
effects, usually found in synthesizers. You can
00:11:10
not only control the timbre, but also
00:11:12
synthesize your own individual this
00:11:15
is done using special knobs and
00:11:18
buttons you can use the functions of
00:11:21
automatic accompaniment That is,
00:11:23
you play
00:11:25
a chord and the synthesizer itself completes
00:11:30
the accompaniment As you can see, this instrument
00:11:33
has a large number of possible functions, but
00:11:36
it has one nuance: a lightweight
00:11:40
keyboard, playing on such a keyboard is
00:11:42
very easy But for classical
00:11:45
works it is not
00:11:47
suitable now about the digital piano
00:11:51
This is an instrument that was created specifically
00:11:55
to replace an acoustic piano it is
00:11:58
small in size and yet can
00:12:01
have a full-size piano
00:12:03
keyboard I can adjust the volume of the sound on the digital
00:12:06
piano For example, I
00:12:08
can play barely
00:12:11
audible And then turn up the control and the
00:12:14
sound will become louder And most importantly, the
00:12:17
keys of a digital piano, unlike a
00:12:20
synthesizer, imitate a hammer
00:12:23
mechanism Just like on a real piano.
00:12:27
This allows you to exercise full
00:12:29
load on your
00:12:35
hands. Then when you play on an
00:12:37
acoustic grand piano, you will
00:12:40
not feel any difference in sensations. The digital
00:12:43
piano has a lot of features besides the main timbre of the
00:12:45
piano. other timbres,
00:12:48
harpsichord, organ, choir and others, and in this way it is
00:12:51
similar to a synthesizer, but still, if you
00:12:55
seriously decide to take up music, especially
00:12:58
classical music, and the finest nuances of performance are important to you, then you
00:13:03
still can’t do without a good acoustic instrument.
