00:00:07
hello Karolina Kurkova welcome if you
00:00:10
want to interview me you're very welcome
00:00:11
but I came to be each other yeah it's
00:00:13
nice to be interviewed by a woman it's
00:00:15
nice to have a working crazily
00:00:18
beautiful and busy woman here to talk to
00:00:20
you so you've been with the IWC family
00:00:23
for quite a while tell us how did that
00:00:25
actually not that long not that old the
00:00:31
family relationship starts how did it
00:00:33
start it started in New York was in New
00:00:37
York affair
00:00:38
I met George in New York but it was
00:00:41
known affair between me and George no we
00:00:42
don't start rumors here but it was kind
00:00:45
of a you know a little affair in a sense
00:00:48
that's where we met for the first time
00:00:49
in New York and I remember a friend who
00:00:52
was in a PR role told me oh you should
00:00:54
go to the store Pam IWC it's a wonderful
00:00:59
brand from Europe and there's so much
00:01:00
history and you're really gonna love the
00:01:02
CEO of George current so I did go and I
00:01:05
met George and you know how can you know
00:01:07
fall in love with George George is
00:01:10
bigger than life he is creative he's
00:01:13
smart he loves movies he loves art he
00:01:17
loves you know beautiful things he's
00:01:21
also a good business man
00:01:22
obviously he's doing a really good job
00:01:23
with IWC you know being one of the top
00:01:26
luxury brands and that's kind of where
00:01:29
it started so it's very organic we're
00:01:31
authentic we met we talked and I believe
00:01:34
everything the brand believes and stand
00:01:37
for so I think there's a lot of synergy
00:01:38
so talking about family so you're you're
00:01:41
a working mum right now I'm working
00:01:43
really hard and you have young yeah a
00:01:45
new young baby yeah how is that working
00:01:49
out for you I'm sure you're managing it
00:01:51
brilliantly how many challenges for you
00:01:53
so my second boy is two months old and
00:01:56
he's actually here in the hotel I was
00:01:58
just you know doing defeating the
00:02:02
feeding I know it's almost TMI but you
00:02:04
know it's it's it's important for an
00:02:06
infant to be fed so I am the source of
00:02:09
feeding right now and and you know it's
00:02:11
beautiful and I'm really fortunate I get
00:02:13
to do that and and have that moment in
00:02:16
time with my baby and I'm glad that he's
00:02:18
here with me and then
00:02:19
I'm also glad I'm able to be here
00:02:21
because he used two months old and you
00:02:23
know when they said oh you do you think
00:02:25
you can try to be engineer by the voice
00:02:27
I change and I said you know that was
00:02:31
before I had the baby I'm thinking yeah
00:02:32
two months you know it should be fine
00:02:34
like I'll do it I'll come for two days
00:02:37
so I leave him at home I go in and out
00:02:39
only for a day because it's really today
00:02:41
you know it's the full day and then I
00:02:43
could leave but you know then I had the
00:02:46
baby I'm breastfeeding you know you have
00:02:49
the baby and it's so later I'm thinking
00:02:51
oh my goodness am I like going to really
00:02:52
Geneva in like into my like in two
00:02:55
months where he's two months so we got
00:02:57
to bring him and so he's here with us
00:02:59
he's the youngest IWC Melbourne and he's
00:03:04
here he's doing amazing and you know
00:03:06
supporting me I'm able to be here
00:03:07
because it's always wonderful to see all
00:03:10
the ambassadors and Friends of the brand
00:03:12
and see what they create each year it's
00:03:15
always a new new line that they're kind
00:03:19
of really focusing on and and everything
00:03:21
is designed around it so there was
00:03:24
always a story it's almost like you walk
00:03:26
into a movie site you know you were
00:03:27
being transported into a different time
00:03:29
and different place so it's kind of
00:03:30
exciting and that's what I love about my
00:03:33
work also being front of camera you're
00:03:35
always being transported into these
00:03:36
different characters and you know and
00:03:38
you have to tell the story but it's a
00:03:40
silent movie story you don't get to talk
00:03:42
you get to really do it with your
00:03:44
expressions and your body language and
00:03:47
the way you made up and your hair makeup
00:03:49
and your clothes and the lighting and
00:03:51
then it's really about the little
00:03:53
subtlety of different changes that you
00:03:55
do and you've and you've been
00:03:57
transformed into so many different
00:03:58
guises there's so many different roles
00:04:00
would have been some of the real
00:04:02
highlights for you as a model in shoots
00:04:04
that you've done where you just would be
00:04:06
able to play such a different character
00:04:08
from your normal life so I get to play a
00:04:10
lot of different characters I've been
00:04:11
Marilyn Monroe I've been very bread
00:04:13
dough I've been Sophia Loren you know
00:04:15
the amazing
00:04:16
I've been Raquel Welch I've been Marilyn
00:04:18
Manson believe it or not this blonde
00:04:21
light eyes girl was a Marilyn Manson I
00:04:24
had a black and white black and white
00:04:26
eyes I had like full white makeup all
00:04:29
over my body I had the black hair I had
00:04:32
like this wig I mean they completely
00:04:35
transformed me it was amazing I loved it
00:04:37
people thought I was Marilyn Manson I'll
00:04:39
walk around the studio I'd be like hi
00:04:41
you know I had kind of lowered my voice
00:04:43
and people would be like why is Marilyn
00:04:46
Manson saying hi to me like I don't know
00:04:47
him and so you know that's really the
00:04:50
fun part of my job I really get to play
00:04:52
all these different characters and
00:04:53
that's what I love about my job you know
00:04:55
I don't need to be I don't want to be
00:04:57
always just pretty and normal or natural
00:05:00
it's fun to be something completely
00:05:03
different or something crazy I played
00:05:05
even a crazy insane German nurse you
00:05:08
know
00:05:09
so I played some twisted things I mean I
00:05:11
keep saying playing like if I'm acting
00:05:12
but I am acting in front of the camera
00:05:15
yeah so that excites me no I love
00:05:17
working with new people and your energy
00:05:19
new take on photography and fashion and
00:05:23
and when I work I'm very involved so I'm
00:05:26
not just in front of the camera but I
00:05:28
love being behind the scenes to really
00:05:30
figuring out okay what are we wearing
00:05:32
what's the hair make I'm gonna be like
00:05:34
what's the mood what's the music like
00:05:36
you know anything that will really
00:05:39
transport me and inspire me I you were
00:05:42
asking me different things on my career
00:05:45
you know everything I do every day is
00:05:48
exciting day you know you never know
00:05:50
what it's gonna be like who are you
00:05:52
working with you might be working people
00:05:54
you've worked with for a long time or
00:05:55
new people so it's it's always kind of
00:05:58
changing and it's exciting and in you as
00:06:00
a person you're constantly are changing
00:06:03
so you always have something else to
00:06:05
share to give you know you have
00:06:07
different life experiences that kind of
00:06:09
change the way you move the way you
00:06:12
express yourself and with that sharing
00:06:15
it was gonna ask you about social media
00:06:16
so you've worked in the modeling
00:06:18
industry kind of pre and post the
00:06:21
internet
00:06:22
phase you'll have great followings on
00:06:26
social media does it how does it feel
00:06:28
for you to be able to enact with your
00:06:30
fans and interact with them and share
00:06:31
what you're doing and share your daily
00:06:33
life I saw something you have like
00:06:34
hashtag House of coke over where you're
00:06:36
just with your little baby like that's
00:06:38
so so yeah I always like our house it's
00:06:40
it's right already not it
00:06:42
and if I resign tonight so how so you
00:06:45
enjoy obviously interacting do you call
00:06:47
them fans do you call them followers
00:06:48
what's that relationship like how do I
00:06:53
call them I don't even know how I mean I
00:06:55
: people human he playing out there
00:06:56
people there are a lot of time so so
00:06:59
letter might sell my friends so it's
00:07:01
kind of nice you know people my friends
00:07:03
get to see a little bit where I am what
00:07:04
I'm doing if I don't have time to see
00:07:06
them all the time because having two
00:07:08
kids and career and also being involved
00:07:11
like in my house believe it or not I do
00:07:13
love to cook I like to clean so I'm very
00:07:16
involved in my home like when I'm at
00:07:18
home you know I'm just normal woman who
00:07:22
likes to be organized and likes to clean
00:07:23
and have everything perfect and have
00:07:25
good fresh meal on the table social
00:07:30
media it's a very it's very interesting
00:07:34
because even though I'm very young I do
00:07:36
come you know I've been doing this 16
00:07:39
years so I've definitely seen the
00:07:40
industry change a lot not just our
00:07:42
industry but all the industry so I've
00:07:46
kind of been in back in a day when it
00:07:49
was very old school we had no social
00:07:52
media we had nowhere to be become famous
00:07:54
and to be seen or to be discovered or
00:07:58
highlighted it was really about your
00:08:00
work you showing up having a talent and
00:08:03
you know paying your dues and little by
00:08:06
little you'll win this person over you
00:08:09
do that project that project leads you
00:08:11
to the next project that project leads
00:08:13
you to the letter and it you gradually
00:08:15
kind of grow I tried to be healthy about
00:08:17
it if I'm putting things out there I
00:08:19
tried to be inspirational aspirational
00:08:22
funny goofy you know give a little bit
00:08:26
of the different assets of me and Who I
00:08:29
am and how I live and everything that I
00:08:31
like to do and and I'm passionate about
00:08:34
but so keep things private I mean I
00:08:36
don't post like 20 times a day I mean
00:08:39
there would be I wouldn't be present
00:08:41
with what I'm doing if I'm constantly
00:08:42
posting yeah you know I think it's
00:08:45
important to have just a little privacy
00:08:46
right yeah feed it gently and when
00:08:49
you're when you're working when you're
00:08:51
flying around the world and being a mom
00:08:53
who's your teacher who do you go
00:08:55
to for guidance and advice I believe you
00:08:59
kind of have to become your own teacher
00:09:00
and your guide and your guru and your
00:09:04
everything I really do believe that I
00:09:06
think the power comes from within I
00:09:07
think you really have to constantly
00:09:09
educate yourself and empower yourself
00:09:11
about anything and everything whether
00:09:13
it's your children your health your
00:09:15
profession products that you buying I
00:09:19
mean that's the way I I do it yeah and I
00:09:25
think working from such a young age I
00:09:27
kind of had to always do it you know I
00:09:29
kind of had to look in and and then and
00:09:32
look around I think when you look around
00:09:34
that helps to see you'll see what people
00:09:37
are doing and you kind of take from what
00:09:39
you think they're doing right you learn
00:09:41
from that and what they're doing wrong
00:09:43
and my mom and my dad were great
00:09:46
teachers you know they're the one who
00:09:48
brought me up and gave me the foundation
00:09:50
to Who I am and then they traveling
00:09:53
around with you at times or they family
00:09:55
puts back at home well my parents work
00:09:58
so they're back at home but they come
00:10:01
visit whenever they can or if I'm in
00:10:03
Europe I'll go visit them or we'll meet
00:10:05
so they were there for the birth of my
00:10:07
second child and they're coming back
00:10:09
again next month so I really now that
00:10:12
I'm older I I know how important you
00:10:15
know family is and it's interesting now
00:10:19
that I'm a mom for a second time
00:10:21
how much more I appreciate my mom and my
00:10:25
dad know that I have never like I have
00:10:27
always appreciated him and loved them
00:10:29
and I'm very close to them but it's
00:10:32
almost like it's coming full back circle
00:10:34
you know I'm coming like back to them
00:10:36
and you know really want them a lot more
00:10:38
in my life and especially have with
00:10:41
their grandchildren and yeah because
00:10:45
before I would be traveling doing my
00:10:46
thing and been very independent kind of
00:10:48
all my life and it's really nice you
00:10:52
know having comes like a new
00:10:54
relationship with them and and then
00:10:56
differently and also understanding
00:10:57
because it's a parent to parent right so
00:11:00
I know like what maybe how they felt you
00:11:03
know I mean me working and traveling
00:11:04
from such early age I can't imagine my
00:11:06
son
00:11:07
you know that's takes a
00:11:09
lot of courage from their side giving me
00:11:12
that support and believing in me letting
00:11:15
me kind of letting me go and fly right
00:11:17
an experience and you're flying and
00:11:20
congratulations on everything thank you
00:11:22
my favorite location is home I would
00:11:27
never go out without good attitude life
00:11:34
is all about memories I would most like
00:11:38
to meet Gandhi I want to spend the most
00:11:42
possible time with family if I could
00:11:46
turn back time I would take more risks
00:11:53
I can always spare 10 minutes for my
00:12:03
kisses and most inspirational things
00:12:06
someone has ever said to me is
00:12:15
ah well that you would say to someone
00:12:20
okay I would say to someone be authentic
00:12:27
self great thank you very much thank you
00:12:30
thank you
00:12:39
you
